    Check out the T8 / T8 plus. Same deal, incredible output (2,100 max, 1,000 sustained, 94k cd, 32mm) but the UI is weird and doesn’t match the light’s presumptive purpose.

      Is the Tac version superior? Because I doubt that having no intermediate mode will make it less flexible. Between the WelTool T1 Pro vs T1 Tac vs Acebeam AA Tac which one do you recommend? Or there is another 14500 top flashlight? I dont like Anduril 2.0. Thanks

      @@franciscoaliaga5061 well first of all I hate lights with memory mode , so that eliminates the ace beam for me . I want a light to always come on high mode no matter what. Also I like them simple with high/low or high medium low. I also only get lights with a momentary tails switch instead of reverse clicky. Basically the only 14500\AA flashlight I have found to have these options is his Weltool and Klarus xt1a. Only problem with the klarus is that it doesn’t come in a neutral led and it is big. So If I was you I would get the new tac version because it’s only 2 modes and it’s 5000k vs the regular t1 pro which is 5700k.

      @@albertreade7607 First of all, thanks for reply me. I'm new to this. The High mode, how long does it last? Because I'm afraid that those famous high-mode stats will last seconds and be useless. And I ended up using only the low mode all the time because in 20 minutes I run out of the high mode. Hence my confusion about whether the original version with medium mode is preferable. I would appreciate it very much your opinion.

      @@franciscoaliaga5061 Medium and high on the T1 Pro don't look all that far apart due to our eyes' non linear perception of brightness. The _heat_ , however, is substantially worse. After a couple of minutes on high it becomes too hot to touch just sitting on a table. Medium on the other hand is perfectly manageable for extended handheld use.
      I own the regular T1 pro and recommend it over the T1 Tac for this reason, if you can still find it in stock.
      -The Acebeam pokelit is another light to check out. It can be had with 1000lm and an even higher rated 27,000 candela, but it lacks the incredible throw of the T1.-

    14500/AA & 21700 are the only two formats of flashlights I prefer having. Why?
    1) 14500 & AA are interchangeable so they make the best EDC lights - my choices are Wurkkos TS10, Lumintop EDC05 & EDC15 for flood & Weltool T1 Pro, Lumintop GTA for throw.
    2) 21700 lights can also fit in 18650 without requiring any adapter, so by having a 21700 light, you can use 18650 in it as well if you get them - while a 18650 light cannot take in a 21700 & nor can it fit a 14500 without an adapter. If having an adapter is the way, then even a 21700 light can fit in a 14500 via an adapter.

    • @LV-42617
      @LV-42617 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I even got manage to run my Nitecore MH12 SE (21700) on three AAA batteries. I use the triangel AAA adaptar of one of those crappy 1$ lights you can buy in junk shops. That adapter fits right into the tube of a 21700 light but of course is still too short. For that I simply use two 12mm steelballs, wrapped them with ducttape (until its thick enough to fit for the 21700 diameter) and just wide enough to leave the top and bottom unwrapped to make contact - it works but due to the low amperage I lose high and turbo with this set up. Of course it is not a permanent solution but in an extreme situation, I can bring the nitecore to work even with crappy AAA alkalines, lol.

      @@SodiumSyndicate Well, for a truly EDC (as in the very meaning of this term) light nothing beats the AA/14500 format in my book. I don't mind so much the length but the thickness of the tube and a small AA is simply way more (trousers) pocket friendly. But when it comes to overall usefulness of flashlights, I agree, the 21700 format is the way to go for brightness, capacity, runtime and versatility.

    • @SodiumSyndicate
      @SodiumSyndicate 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LV-42617 I find that the Rovyvon style lights with USB-C charging, transparent shell, cap clip, UV, red, blue flashing sidelights to be absolutely EDC textbook perfect. With a small USB cable in the pocket, one can use one's phone to charge the lights in an extended emergency.

  • @kodyschmautz7799
    @kodyschmautz7799 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In all actuality man I don't think it's necessarily a "tactical" light. I think it's a company's take on an edc, that typically makes tactical style lights to cater to military/police and IIRC they supply a lot of flashlights for Chinese police departments. It's only natural that with the EDC craze still going strong that welltool would come out with, or rather revamp an edc light. Also, I have noticed that over the last couple years, with the increase in battery technology, that the 14500 format seems to be kinda replacing 18350 as far as what people seem to be wanting/what companies seem to be focusing on more (for edc market). Imho I think it's the better choice as it's exactly the same as AA and many have the capability to run both standard 1.8v as well as lithium ion without making any undesired increase to physical dimensions. Where as 18350 is taking cr123 platform, which to many people is already about maximum width for EDC light, not that most any 18350 can't run both 18350, 16340, plus of course cr123 in a pinch generally for reduced output/performance. I myself use 16340 format simply due to most of my favorite/most carried lights are that size and an often overlooked fact is the ability to run cr123s is a nice feature to have for emergency/extreme conditions (temp, impact etc) even if seldom if ever gets used still nice to have. May be in a situation where my rechargeables die or crap out and you pretty much have to order them online where as most grocery stores carry cr123. And while some 14500 lights have the ability to run lower v over the counter AAs, many do not. And there really is no alternative in that situation.
    Anyways, little off track there oops lol. One final note. The reason, or at least most of the reason that you're getting so much more candela (throw) with the welltool vs. your light is the optics. It's literally comparing apples to oranges, or orange peels that is. The olight has a medium to floody fixed optic, for most indoor tasks or close up illumination. Where as the welltool is packed with a reflector that is probably actually not very orange peeled but smooth textured for optimum throw. However, although it's not advised by olight, they CAN handle a 14500 cell with a significant increase in output both brightness and heat. Then I think you may find the results a lot more comparable. Still tho, the olight.will be fighting itself with the optic.

      The bezel is NEVER a consideration...most places will take a flashlight with one. The lack of going straight to turbo on the other hand makes it an issue. I want flashlights to create distance..if they are that close...well...I have better items for that.

      @@maxlvledc Never? Most places? Maybe I misunderstand, and no disrespect intended, but I think that if a “place” is going to “take” your flashlight because of its bezel, your “better items” are likely to be taken as well.

      Crenullated and non-crenullated bezels does not affect the damage dealt of your strike. Unless you're using the bezel of Wurkkos TS30, I would consider the weight and grip of the light to be the major effective factors when hammering something/someone :)

      @@YetAnotherJohnDoe1776 Places that have security may flag a tool with a strike bezel or even those stupid "tactical pens" government buildings or locations won't allow weapons and guess what a strike bezel on a light counts as a weapon rules will be rules and security can be extremely petty.

    "Defensive" calls for a seriously crenelated bezel.

    it's weak. 1800 lumens can be used in self defense to blind the attacker and run away. This is not it. It's not even cool. If I could use 3 lumens for a week in RGB colors - that would be cool. Or to change the beam by a lense

      Blinding depends more on intensity (candela) than flux (lumens). This one has what it takes in the former department but lacking the proper UI for this usage.

      @@AAA-tc1uh so candela takes into account the angle of the beam huh?. IMO it's like comparing one Watt laser with a proper flashlight that you dont have to aim into one eye at time 🙂 I've seen an 1800 lumen flashlight that has this proper button function.
