You will definitely get side pins without a liner. It's not about light. It's about the sub shrinking and creating the perfect micro climate for pins along the sides. When a liner is used, the mycelium sticks to it.

Right now dinosoil because I’m lazy
@@FunGuyFruits Right on.
@@FunGuyFruits Do you find that the H2O content, 2 cups, of the CVG recipe still holds true? I find it to be a little dry. Everyone has their own way and you obviously know what you’re doing. Just wondering if you had tweaked it all. Also, how can I send you funds for all of the content? Appreciate you 🙏🏻
I prefer a more wet substrate. You can donate on Patreon or buy swabs from me on IG
how many pounds of bulk/spawn do you use for these?
What do you use for a substrate?
Whats up with the "MHRB" label next to enigma?
You growing on mimosa bark?
I love your content. I've been following your technique for 2 years now. you're the most reliable mushroom guru online!
Anyone know how to 'eyeball' a half gram of dried shrooms? Would half a gel cap be a good place to start?
Just get a milligram scale. Worth it.
@@tb87670 Ya, I will. Just wantde to do a dose on a rainy afternoon, so, an 'on the fly' question. Thanks, tho! I took about 5 big 'lemon seed' sized pieces and it was perfect. Feelin so happy ever since! Wow!
@@staceykersting705 I get that, had the batteries die on my scale before and hsd to eyeball it. Just too hard to guess even vitamin powders because density and moisture levels can vary from the same batches at walmart, dried stuff can vary more.
does this work for grourmet mushrooms like lionsmane or oyster?
Does he answer a question about tub liners? Noticed bottoms of tubs are not blackened out. Actually, it would so much easier, no fanning , no misting and no worries measuring, cutting annoying tub liners.
You will definitely get side pins without a liner. It's not about light. It's about the sub shrinking and creating the perfect micro climate for pins along the sides. When a liner is used, the mycelium sticks to it.
70 degrees or 78 degrees? I couldn’t understand in the video.
78 is fine
Nice to meet you there, thanks for the information!
I have this exact tub and I am struggling with it drying out during fruiting. Am I supposed to just latch this lid on and let the filters do the work? I have the lid flipped right now. I'm starting to think my head is flipped..
Yes leave lid on don’t flip. That’s the whole point of the filters😊
Be sure the substrate is at field capacity and leave that lid on
awesome name you came up with funguy - fungi nice
for this tek do they need to have that seal lining on the lid? the ones i bought did but they’re a bit more pricy, and if that’s not necessary for the grow i’m just gonna take them back and get some cheaper ones
They don’t need the seal lining
I ordered the 2 inch filters but I drilled 2 1/8 inch holes. Filters are arriving tomorrow, will they fit? Or should I just go ahead and order the 3 inchers?
They are oversized. It’ll be close but they should work.
I noticed your not using liner's anymore in your tubs
How has that been for you??
I always been worried about side or bottom pins
The big tubs have liners they are just clear. In my test grows in shoeboxes no liner. I’ve started spraying the tops of my sub when I make the tubs. I want all the water on top to direct the energy there
Hey, have the same tub as you and I was wondering if you used the filters during the initial colonization or if you covered the holes with tape or something.
Do you know what size micron filter those are? I’ve read only the .2 micron filters are effective at keeping out contamination as the P. Cubensis mushrooms are more susceptible to being contaminated.
Do you know what the humidity is at in your closet (outside of the boxes)?
Whatever the house is. Right now 34%
@FunGuyFruits we are getting closer to 20% this time of year, seems to be drying out my tubs with the same setup, looks like I will have to move the tubs into a Martha style tent with a small humidifier to get closer to 50% humidity
You can always mist too.
@FunGuyFruits kinda defeats the purpose of the filters, will try the tent and see if I can replicate the set-and-forget quality of these tubs
Omg thanks for making it easier
MHRB hey, I see you..
How many holes am I supposed to drill? instructions are unclear.
Do you not bother blackening the bottom like most people do?
