I started the ebbside Stryker quest but never went upstairs to meet boss. Once i left area the door to top floor was locked, the questgiver was upstairs behind the door, and using the mind control perk i tried to get madame savage to go unlock the door in her bar..but she didnt have the key. I saw no info on that fix. She should have the key to a door in her own bar atleast. This was on a 500 hour new game +9 playthrough so ill be damned if I'm restarting my character. Shortly after this i uninstalled to wait for mods on xbox.
This same thing happened to me, I had to draw them out by hitting someone, then when the people upstairs came out to help, I ran upstairs and in the room and hid until everything died down.

I still haven't finished the game. I've redownloaded it multiple times and just delete it again before I launch it. Graphics mean nothing to me if I have little to no desire to complete the game and see it as a chore to play. This has shown me that they cannot do better than Skyrim and I hate that game now just because they released a game that modders keep alive props to those people. There are practically no mods for starfield compared to other Bethesda games. After Fallout or Skyrim was out for this long they had major mods either being completed or at least being announced. The game is not designed for mods in the way other games were. It will likely only ever have basic mods like UI improvements etc. I very much doubt we will see a single total conversion or any great mods. The main problems with the game come from the basic game design.
Starfield needs a machinima series. Check it out. Enjoy, and stay tuned. Thanks for the video, Rubicon. Much work is needed, but I feel it will improve with the CK (as long as Bethesda doesn't muck with the modding situation). Time will tell.
Modders aren’t going to fix starfield. Apparently, the problems with the game are so deep that modders CAN’T get to them. Not that modders have any motivation to do so anyway.
Bethesda is coming, Bethesda is coming and they'll bring us...patches and fixes and CONTENT and, and food and they'll...smite our enemies. Bethesda is coming, Bethesda is coming.
They need to patch the vast waste lands.. planets with high levels should have boss type aliens... or raids.. Major cities should have military type battles vs raiders or aliens.. like.. c'mon. Content.. not boredom
This one hurts so much more than fallout 76, modern online games are always trash (imo) so I wasn’t surprised, but I wanted starfield to be good so so much…
I dont think mods will make a difference, at least not for me. Fallout 4 and skyrim have an insane amount of amazing mods, but i only ever go back to skyrim. The difference is vanilla skyrim still has elements i like about it, vanilla FO4 really doesnt, and Starfield is even less likeable than FO4 in my opinion.
Starfields divine sin is that its BORING. You can say whatever you want about it, graphics are good, not many bugs for bethesda, ect - but it's just not fun.
Graphics are mediocre. Apart from few planets and high-res food, graphics is on 2015 level most of the time. Physics, animations etc are below 2010. level, basically copied from Oblivion.
The game was already great to me before any updates... extra content on some of the planets was my only big complaint besides the small bugs that didn't stop me from loving the game at all.. long as u stick to doing the misssions & side missions the game is great... plus if u were expecting to get every update u wanted in one update then u lost your mind... they said they doing updates every 6 weeks for a reason... also by the time the Shattered Space DLC come out the game is really going to be top notch... people just love to complain about every little thing when life wasn't like that back in day with people complaining about every little thing with games & i know damn well whatever your favorite old school game is that u think is so godly is full of bugs & plenty little tedious things u can complain about to tear the game down but times just have changed especially with this internet where people just say anything just because they can even if they are over reacting & then everyone else on the internet just follow & make complaints just because its the popular thing to do cuz of one youtuber said it.. people need to start having their own mind..
On degrees of hardness you are right, but it is unnecessarily annoying. We paid for a functioning product and got shit. I really like the game, the exploring, the combat, almost everything. I can even deal with the endless walking and sprinting because there is no land transportation. But after 200 plus hours of play and not being able to end the first game because it won't let me land on Masada. That is just wrong. There are quests I haven't yet experienced on fo4 because of the same issues. These kinds of business practices are criminal.
That’s like them making it so that your spaceship only turns left. Bethesda fanboys would be like, “dude, it’s not that hard. Just turn left three times and now you’re going right. It isn’t that hard.” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😂
@scubasteve2189 not really being a fan boy... the cities are not that big to even get lost in ... the main one has 3 sections and you have pointers to which direction to go. You get perfect games after people play them for abit to find the issues. With games so detailed now they can't ever be perfect but everyone are experts now and know best
Yeah, the Starfield subs are the worst because you explain how the game still crashes on the Series S, which is by far the weakest system and terrible decision by Microsoft; and they tell me they don't have the same issues and to reset my system. Other responses are typical fanboy chatter. Like why? To rectify crappy programming I never experience with other systems? I own a PS4, PS5 and a Switch, and they never gave me any issues, just the Series S. Says a lot.
I liked Starfield for the most part but, unlike Skyrim, I can't imagine ever doing a second playthrough. Why do you want city maps anyway? It's not like there's that many different shops, or a chance to get lost or anything like that. There's only 2 big cities and the main questlines take you through almost every inch of them. There were two details that really bothered me about Starfield; first that they forgot to add in the option to place down the armillary on a floor. How could such a thing not be noticed before releasing a game at full price? Makes you wonder. The second thing is how they built up House Varuun as the most interesting faction and yet we barely saw any of them. It was a pretty fun game apart from that, I thought.
I'm so thank I didn't buy this ESG compliant dumpster fire of a game. I removed it from my wish list after watching baby face's rant. That was the deal breaker. 😂 Not to mention the game has terrible AI, terrible transversal, and is badly optimized. But I would've been willing to tolerate that if it wasn't for the woke propaganda. I'm scared for Elder Scrolls VI, that's my favorite game series.
Lolllllllllll. Sounds like you’re offended. Be careful with elder scrolls, that Vivec guy is pansexual and non binary, and in morrowind you’re fighting against a nationalist god. I can’t imagine liking a game series with such a WOKE (TM) third installment! Xo
Are we willing to admit yet that the mod community is equally, or almost equally, to blaim for the state of bethesda products? They are enabling this sort of practice. Which just leads to more lazy, unfinished games and mediocrity.
No. Just no. I’m not blaming enthusiasts who create fun mods for us gamers. I’m blaming Bethesda doe being a lazy, greedy, incompetent company. There is no need to blame ANYONE else for Bethesda’s failures. 🙄
The title doesn't make sense, so I'm not watching this. But I will give this video a thumbs down, to be fair. The title of the video is like saying "the summer time is still the winter time" IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE ! Starfield was amazing on Day One and was not "bad".
That comment doesn't make sense ^. Starfield was so bad on day 1, so flawed it can never be fixed even with mods... But I guess Todd's adoring fans live in another dimension, and just love to explore Uranus 👾
Actually, if the modders had done it, they would have finished it in 1/8 the time and it would have actually worked when they were done with it. 🤦🏻♂️😂
The graphics are the least of Starfields problem, to me the game is so boring, the story is so bland and short and theres nothing to do on planets they are so empty, and what kind of space game doesnt have aliens? Its basically all humans, how boring, just my opinion though.
I can imagine a sci-fi setting with only humans that would work. Say, one that takes place 1000 years after sub-light colony ships left Earth. You'll have worlds with unique cultures, shaped by their environments and centuries of isolation. Of course, that eould require creative writers, something BGS lacks.
When they hit me with that text prompt after building the Armilay, any last ounce of hope I had for this game went out the window. I wasn’t expecting a cutscene but how many years did these devs have just to give me a good job text.
I like your commentary on gaming in general. So yes olease give us Baldur's gate 3 updates, talk about controversies in gaming, do more rants and updates on Bethesda and starfield. Thanks for the hard work rubicon! Never give up never surrender Silence is compliance
1 thing for certain. If Bugthesda is releasing a patch for bugs and glitches in their own game, you can rest assured this will break the game, add more bugs and then they will have to do a hot fix for the patch....probably several of them. Great, spot on video
Do you remember any good patch or better new version or skyrim ? No that all was mods , mods keep skyrim alive ...u think bethesda can revive game like CDPR ? Think again
In fallout 4 and Skyrim Npcs had day and night time cycle. They went to work and went back home. In skyrim some went to the local inn. Some even played music in the inn. You could loot Npcs right down to their underwear. You could chop/shoot of heads. As for loading screens in Fallout 4 i remember being in a lift and i could move about until it loaded the next floor so i know it's possible with this engine. If i was designing Starfield when getting onto a ship or into a building i would create two doors like a air lock. As one door closes the game loads while your in a airlock that you can still move about in while the game loads. Cyberpunk also has this in lifts. One strange thing is that there seems to be no skin showing. On paradise planet you can find a bikini but that's really it. There is barely any attractive NPC in the game. But when you walk into the night clubs and see the dancers you do have to ask what they were thinking about the outfits. Easy fix for mods. The best thing is Ship building and that you can walk around your ships. But flying in space feels like flying in a fish bowl as its a loading screen to move to the next planet or area in space. So again immersion ruined. It's not that Starfield is a bad game it's just that their older games for me are better. Better atmosphere. It feels like a dumb down version of their older games.
Same as Oblivion actually and even ancient games like Gothic2 (time of Morrowind, Bethesda later somewhat copied that system); NPCs had daily routines, but in Starfield most named NPCs just stand in the same spot 24/7. "Next gen gaming" said Todd, but in reality Bethesda game design did not progress, it even regressed...
The modding community should choose one version of the game to mod and not entertain their updates. That way when people pirate it which is the only thing this deserves because it will only be good because of modders, all mods will work for that version.
Once they add ground vehicles, water locations and swimming, stealth finishers (or fucking throwing knives at least), and planetary travel it'll be back!
Bethesda reminds me of a band that has a singer that cant sing and their instruments are always out of tune but the groupies always say how amazing and talented they are.
Just downloaded it on gamepass first time playing it, I deliberately waited all this time for improvement before trying, can't stand it after 2 hours, it's so boring and runs like crap on my pc, so much stutters and lags everywhere
i dont know whats worse the shitty game or the community that tries to make up for their shitty game Its also hilaruious how anyone was expecting anything better from this game after the likes of fallout 4 and whatever other trash they put out in the last 10 years
I don't think starfield is a terrible game, i think it's more of an average game but everyone was expecting a masterpiece. Dont get me wrong it does have some stupid design decisions (dialogue, exploration rewards and loading screens being the worse offenders) At the moment i think we have the alpha barebones version of the game and maybe in 2-3 years time and with mods i believe it will be a fantastic game. They definitely do deserve the criticism they are getting at the moment. Im not willing to fully give up it just yet tho, ive 100% the game (steam achievements) so im in no rush to get back into unless is see some seriously good content and updates added. If that doesn't happen then yeah maybe it is a dud.
I think another thing was that all of the major outlets gave it too much praise too. They were hailing it as a "masterpiece" so people were excited just to be left with a joke. It put a bad taste in people's mouth. Me included.
In all honesty they needed to do what CDPR did after Cyberpunks botched release. Call everyone back from vacation and no one gets time off until the game is in an acceptable state. CDPR managed to make the game playable in a month, but then again Cyberpunk has something Starfield lacks, a GOOD core.
Why maps for just cities ? Why not any explorable dungeon/caves ? Would it highlight how bad they are designed or something ? And what would having skill reset break ? Devs ego ?
I will say the patch did not fix the asteroids that follow throughout space. This patch is hot garbage and the game is gonna bomb and lose dev support in a year.
Great review @Rubicon! Here's my take on the situation (I consider myself a gamer, but I don't go anywhere near joining a community, modding games, etc. More a traditional gamer that will install some mods and if a game is good I'll sink hours into it. Probably at 1,000 in Skyrim and 750 in Fallout 4). I think Starfield is an example of a game that goes into the "just because you can do it.....doesn't mean you should". I remember in the last big reveal from the Xbox thingy (their major day of announcements, trailers, etc.) - that Todd Howard says that they waited so long to make a space game because the tech didn't exist. And you can get the sense from listening to all the stuff up to launch as the tech that allowed, in their minds, them to make the game was the auto generated worlds. However, that technology is just in the early stages. Especially when you compare graphics and story elements of a game like Starfield to No Man's Sky (which I haven't played but have seen plenty of screenshots from). They don't have the tech to build completely immersive worlds and 99.5% of the population of potential players - both PC and consoles - don't have the systems to handle such a game. To me, they were so tempted by the lure of having 1,000+ planets that, when combined with their systemic issues as a shop (like reliance on modders, refusal to fix bugs or even admit them) they really lost their way. Two more quick points. I'm not the only person to say this either....but 99% of players would have been happy with 100 planets. 5-10 planets with maps the size of skyrim or even bigger all with crafted locations, 5-10 planets the size of skyrim with good animals and generated locations, and then 80-90 planets/moons for resource farming, exploration, etc. - Mix in planet transportation like rovers, the ability to play as a real bad guy for damn once in a BSG game, city maps, a way to build ships and see the interiors as you do it and decide where doors/ladders will be placed, and find/fix more bugs upon launch and I think people would love it. That's why people loved Skyrim - it felt hand-crafted. It felt like a real adventure. Final point - my review on Steam I said this game is a mile wide and 3 inches deep and I think that's right. Back to my original point they could have built a game with less worlds but that was deep and hand crafted. Like skyrim in space. People would have understood the tech doesn't exist yet to make the ultimate space game. But they got distracted and locked onto a concept that isn't exciting. They could have built a solid game and then slowly expanded the universe adding in more stories, more planets. etc. Instead they gave us a game with no depth and I don't trust them enough to make it better (and I don't mean by fixing stupid little bugs or making lighting better). That's my two cents.
@UmmerFarooq-wx4yo they are both inside at a bar in NEON called Madame Sauvages. They adjusted the lighting to make it look like a dark seedy bar in a dark seedy place.
@@blackpaisley5156 then just don’t play the game I know plenty of folks that beat the campaign and loved it expectations are to high nowadays and company’s tend to over promise
A year? A YEAR? Dude, it’s now been 8 months, and I still can’t even play the game fluidly on low settings because it’s constantly freezing and stuttering. And my rig plays most games on high or ultra just fine. You expect a whole YEAR before they improve a game? What planet are you on?
Starfield is like that guy at the party that you didn't know was there, but somehow managed to stay too late anyway.
Bro this was funny af. Here's your pin.
Notice how the Bethesda focused channels stoped making videos about Starfield because people lost interest on it
Yeah. It seems the only interest left is from criticism.
I also noticed channels churning out Starfield hate content because it brings in clicks.
@Napier006 your woke probably
The only entertainment value left for Starfield is the salt.
I would never 😂
I agree with you on the map thing is crazy that every single videogame has a map and Starfield a 2023 game dosen't have one this update is a joke 😂
Yep. Makes no sense that they wouldn't add one.
Even ancient medieval fantasy games have paper maps. Why does this futuristic world assume you know where you are
U don't need a map
The lack of maps and the number of loading screens are two of the most baffling things when this is supposed to be a current gen only AAA game. I fear that ES6 will be nothing more than a little more polished Skyrim with better graphics and a bigger map.
The Starfield community literally hypes anything up to make their purchases feel worth it
For sure the dumbest community around right now. Bunch of morons to the core
Bunch of bugs get fixed.
Community: OMG THIS IS THE BEST STARFIELD PATCH EVER!!!!111oneone
So funny considering most people who like Starfield just have fun and aren’t worried about making any purchase feel worth it
Kind feel bad for them sometimes but then again they were bashing Ppl about how this will be goty
For context, in the time it took for Bethesda to get this patch into Beta, Larian managed to get out 5 very substantive patches to BG3.
With actual additions and content added
Dude Act 3 and splitscreen is still broken.
bethesda likely packed up shop after the negative reception of starfield and focused resources to their next game despite what they said at launch
But BG3 doesn't have "16 times the detail" or "it just works".
It's like a Monty Python skit about advances in aviation- everything except the airplanes. In Starfield's case verything except vehicles, actual travel to and from planets, and tons of other things.

Wonder if daddy Phil is eyeing "consolidation" from BGS if ES6 doesn't utterly shift the perspective.

Game of the generation ! 🤣😂😂 News patch notes are hilarious .
😂
Love to see an update on the steam sales of bg3, there was an article on business insider where it made over 650 million on steam.
Modders aren’t going to fix starfield. Apparently, the problems with the game are so deep that modders CAN’T get to them. Not that modders have any motivation to do so anyway.
Actually it's true, that tiny update is the biggest update they did anyway.
Would be more fun to have console modding
This game is killin me… all I hear is how great Skyrim is so I get this and I’m really disappointed with the outpost and economy structure!!!
Bethesda is coming, Bethesda is coming and they'll bring us...patches and fixes and CONTENT and, and food and they'll...smite our enemies. Bethesda is coming, Bethesda is coming.
😂😂😂
I think they are excited for the patch because they are actually Bethesda employees.
They need to patch the vast waste lands.. planets with high levels should have boss type aliens... or raids..
Major cities should have military type battles vs raiders or aliens.. like.. c'mon. Content.. not boredom
Man I’m glad somebody said it!!!
They dont plan to fix this game. They will put some fixes when they release the remaster in a few months and charge everyone for it!
This one hurts so much more than fallout 76, modern online games are always trash (imo) so I wasn’t surprised, but I wanted starfield to be good so so much…
Starfield is going to be the new cyberpunk 2077
I hope so but I doubt it
This video is really good!
vapor ware
Of course it's still bad.. they already have your money 😂
this is what i dont understand ..imagen people buying a game from bethesda and expect it will be good.. 😑
Here to laugh at soulless woke ESG, DEI corporate game being shit on
I dont think mods will make a difference, at least not for me.
7:32 what's the point of more content as DLC if core game still sucks. No matter how much spice you add to shit, it's still a shit
I dont get it ,thry cant fix this game cos it is broken in its core
F starfield. I can't wait for London dlc! 😂🇬🇧👍
Clearly too hard for you to understand... city maps are coming but really? It really isnt hard to navigate.
Is Bethesda sucking you off while you are saying this?
@77jackiv not let you land? Ive not had that issue at this is why i can't see what all the hate is
@scubasteve2189 not really being a fan boy... the cities are not that big to even get lost in ... the main one has 3 sections and you have pointers to which direction to go.
Says a lot.
Stop forcing it.
Stanfield fans are copeing hard. Give them about 3 months.
Are y'all PC players?
Yup
Very interesting but you do know once you beat the game you don’t have to return.
Xo
Such a bad game but still talking about it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
More disappointing than bad. That’s why
I guess news outlets shouldn't report murders or global catastrophies because they are bad.
Are we willing to admit yet that the mod community is equally, or almost equally, to blaim for the state of bethesda products?
They are enabling this sort of practice. Which just leads to more lazy, unfinished games and mediocrity.
I don't know. They're just doing what they love.
@@GeneralRubicon Doesn’t mean they’ve not unwittingly become part of Bethesda’s business model, and thus a cyclical problem.
@@yohef4537 true
No. Just no. I’m not blaming enthusiasts who create fun mods for us gamers. I’m blaming Bethesda doe being a lazy, greedy, incompetent company. There is no need to blame ANYONE else for Bethesda’s failures. 🙄
It’s more fun than cyberpunk
Cyberpunk had a redemption arc and is actually a good game now. Starfield? Not so much
Sony fanboy making starfield hate videos
Nope. I'm on PC. Been playing Bethesda games since I was 8

The title doesn't make sense, so I'm not watching this. But I will give this video a thumbs down, to be fair.

Starfield was amazing on Day One and was not "bad".
I appreciate it
@@GeneralRubicon no prob. just trying to help with the spread of righteousness on the youtube.
That comment doesn't make sense ^. Starfield was so bad on day 1, so flawed it can never be fixed even with mods... But I guess Todd's adoring fans live in another dimension, and just love to explore Uranus 👾

I don't understand why everyone is upset with Starfield. It is the best Fallout 4 mod there is.
nope, that would be america rising 2 and sim settlements 2 XD not even BGS can make the best mod for F4 XD
if fallout 4 was an actual good game that would mean something but .. yeah no
🤣
Debatable, have you seen Dogmeat retexture mod?
Actually, if the modders had done it, they would have finished it in 1/8 the time and it would have actually worked when they were done with it. 🤦🏻♂️😂
This overhyped update isn't even out yet is it?
Never give up never surrender
Silence is compliance
1 thing for certain. If Bugthesda is releasing a patch for bugs and glitches in their own game, you can rest assured this will break the game, add more bugs and then they will have to do a hot fix for the patch....probably several of them. Great, spot on video
Thanks for the support so far everyone.
Do you remember any good patch or better new version or skyrim ? No that all was mods , mods keep skyrim alive ...u think bethesda can revive game like CDPR ? Think again
Waiting on a map of the city.....jesus christ what rookies
Dave Matthews Band
Just downloaded it on gamepass first time playing it, I deliberately waited all this time for improvement before trying, can't stand it after 2 hours, it's so boring and runs like crap on my pc, so much stutters and lags everywhere
i dont know whats worse the shitty game or the community that tries to make up for their shitty game
Its also hilaruious how anyone was expecting anything better from this game after the likes of fallout 4 and whatever other trash they put out in the last 10 years
I don't think starfield is a terrible game, i think it's more of an average game but everyone was expecting a masterpiece.
Dont get me wrong it does have some stupid design decisions (dialogue, exploration rewards and loading screens being the worse offenders)
At the moment i think we have the alpha barebones version of the game and maybe in 2-3 years time and with mods i believe it will be a fantastic game.
Devs ego ?
I played it 4 min last night before altf4
I will say the patch did not fix the asteroids that follow throughout space. This patch is hot garbage and the game is gonna bomb and lose dev support in a year.
The high(er) profile version of No Man’S Sky, so maybe it will be “good”….in about 6 months to a year…🙄
This game made it so I will never buy another Bethesda game...EVER, well done /s
3 weeks later, 7k player peak. Ouch.

Astute, Liam. Lmao
Great feedback, Todd should watch this video! 👌
That would be cool!
@@GeneralRubicon hope they will save the game somehow..., I kind of like it, some parts of it...
The worse thing is their "Fixes" have just been breaking the game more as if the game was made only out of cheap tape.
Hold on a minute, which lighting is the patched one in this picture? 3:08
The second one. Looks alot more realistic to me.
@@GeneralRubicon The first one looks like day setting (realistic according to 70s-80s cinema) the second looks like night setting.
@UmmerFarooq-wx4yo they are both inside at a bar in NEON called Madame Sauvages. They adjusted the lighting to make it look like a dark seedy bar in a dark seedy place.
@@GeneralRubicon which to be fair is really nice, now if only neo was an actual dark and shady place instead of pristine clean and kiddo friendly XD

Hasn't even been a year and the game is already dead. Literally has less concurrent players than skyrim all the time.
It shouldn't take a year for a game to be fixed. It should already be a finished product with updates serving as polishing.
