My personal issue with baryon mode is I feel they could've done a lot more with the concept of it. With fusion down to the atomic level, you could've gone a more chimera-esque design.
Neku and "Shiki"'s outfits are crazy. I really like Rhyme and Beat's matching beanies but otherwise kinda meh on them. Most other characters dress pretty "realistically" aside from Sho, Uzuki, and Kariya who are all kinda 2000s cool
Regardless of feelings there, I feel you guys judge too much around the character vibe rather than just the clothing absent from the character wearing it.
Boruto is just crazy to explain to Non-Boruto watchers because the shit that happens in this sequel is crazy out of context. Like- Like you HAD to be there. If you weren't there, you'll never understand.
I wholeheartedly agree with this take on the Boruto designs. They all look like they lost the plot and are trying to hold on to a plastic version of it with yarn and Elmer’s glue. I’m just sad that their predecessor’s fantastic fits, Naruto, in comparison to Boruto, weren’t able to keep with the times of this world’s future, much like the aforementioned plot. Here’s hoping we’ll get better designs in the future, not only from Boruto, but other stories as well. With all of that out of the way, may I recommend looking at another work of Kishimoto Masashi, the author of Naruto, Samurai 8’s fits? It’s still a manga, but would love to see something on it. In my opinion, the designs are rather simple, but it hands itself well to the world the story is set in,-A Sci-Fi fantasy world that definitely feels otherworldly, making the simple designs feel alien-though, then again, that’s just my take. Anyways, that’s all from me for this. Love the content, always a great boost of inspiration when I watch these to get some outside perspective on different designs so that I can make my character designs a bit more appealing, taking in both aesthetic and world story :] Keep up the great work!
i should note that timeskip (which was 3 years, they're all between 16 and 18 IIRC, but yeah, Sarada's time skip design is just... it's not good, in fact, its very quite bad. I cant say I agree with Kawaki being higher than timeskip boruto, but I also think y'all are going to love timeskip Inojin, and fucking hate that, so we'll see

I actually give Kishimoto a lot of credit for trying and actually succeeding at creating somewhat accurate fits, because if you look at the post time-skip fits all of them are very much inspired by the 2016- 2018 Japan's street fashion.. (which is the exact time where the Boruto designs were being created) that shit was just heavily oversized, I mean just baggy clothing mixed with a bunch of accessories with massive belts, jewelry ect. And when you're a middle aged man trying to study the new generations fashion trends for character designs all you'll gonna come up with is schoolgirl outfits with hella short skirts or J-pop "idol" stars who basically perform in bikinis and leather jackets on, and for dudes it either boys school uniforms or just baggy street fashion fits.
Boruto happens in the future btw they are cyborgs, aliens gods, criminals so make sense this designs. Kawaki, code, delta, are from the kara organization they all have marks on their faces with the number of each one.
