Nicely done! I put 99 oldsmobile bravada leather buckets in my 80 k30 with a dodge console/jump seat in the middle. Little more fabricating but comfort is key!
So is it a bad adapter for the external mic? Might be worth trying to shoot an episode without the external mic to see if it records audio all the way through. I'd be more than willing to bet that there's some connection issue in line of the external mic setup. Decent stick color of the new bench to go with the buckskin exterior.
I'm a new Subscriber. Big fan of the Squarebody content. Did the OBS seat give you more or less room from the steering wheel? And what about height, do you sit higher or lower in the cab now? I'm constantly looking for more room behind the wheel. A shorter steering column is in my future. Mine is a '78 C/10 Silverado longbed, because the cool people drive longbeds!
Yes! Cool people do drive long beds! Lol I find the obs seat to be a tad lower on the back as the seat has a bit mor recline than the original, therefore sitting you a bit lower. As far as room between the steering wheel there is marginally more but not significant.
hello dale owner great job i have a 77 c10 in project mode is that afront seat are back seat 88-98 chevy pick up standard cab are crew cab are blazer hope you still around to answer
Nice work, I got a 83 chevy c10 and I'm trying to put a bench seat. The only bench seat I found is from an 80s Ford, do you think they will bolt on or would I have to do the same thing you did?
Did your 77 come with bench seat that the back of the seat goes forward, so a person can place something for storage in the back of the seat. Mine doesn't go forward.
That's a sweet looking seat. Looked like a pretty easy fab and install. Nice work.
Even with novice welding skills like me!

I’ve swapped out the sd card and 2 videos in, so far so good!
@@OldeCarrGuy good deal
Great video! I just bought this exact same style seat to put in my 79 k20. Got everything I need just curious what size angle iron you used?
I can’t say for certain as it was a while back. It was just some scrap I had laying around.

You'll likely be modifying the seat mount.
So should I just get a seat from any year of chevy would be better and easier to modify?
@@familygunsandrides....8024 any Chevy (88-98) bench seat should be as easy as the one in the video.
Got your channel from a old Dylan McCool video.👍
That's awesome! Welcome. I hope you'll consider subscribing if you haven't already!

Yes, the original seat did fold forward.
ive been thinking of swapping bucket seats in my 77 c2500 but with how that obs seat fits i might do that
It really was that simple!
@@OldeCarrGuy factory interior color for mine is seamist green no one remakes that color so im having to change everything
WHAT does the acronym OBS stand for?
I meant to clarify that in the video. Old body style-referring to 88-98 gm trucks.
What wheels are you running?
American Racing Torq-Thrust 2. 15x8 up front and 15x10 in the rear.
Any update on the seat belts?
I’ll be doing an install video in the spring. Truck is stored for the winter.
I want to do this! Except I have a square body Burb…and I’m told the OBS seats don’t swap well into the 2nd and 3rd rows…
Secontd row would be easier than the 3rd as the floor pans are similar, but the back row is a flat mount.
👌🏽
Thanks Jason
I need one about that same color ... hummmm :)
Yes you do. Best interior improvement!
Sounds like u gotca ground loom in the audio some times
Quite possibly!
What is an OBS?
Chevy trucks from 88-98 are often referred to as OBS or Old Body Style. Thanks for watching.
Dammit, now I’m debating whether to recover the old seat and stay original or do this..
It’s so worth it!
Looks good!
Thanks Luca
