    If you do this yourself it's safer to remove the engine from the top. If you Remove the sub frame the engine has nothing to hold it up unless you brace a beam from the top or a jack from the bottom otherwise that engine is his gonna drop on her head. It's more work that way but who cares

      I am accustomed to working on my jeep xj which is a piece of cake and this is my first removal of transmission with independent suspension I was just asking that question because two mechanics told me that since my transmission on honda accord v6 was slipping that it might have thrown off the timing? I am assuming they are a bunch of hack jobs ?

  • @eksine

    Cheda If you remove the engine from the top do you still have to remove the subframe to get the transmission out or can you get the transmission out from the top after you take out the engine from the top?

    • @ChedaBenz
      @ChedaBenz  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which one are you taken out

    • @eksine
      @eksine 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to remove the transmission on my 2002 honda odyssey and later on my 2001 accord V6, but I do not like the idea of removing the transmission from the bottom by taking out the subframe. I would rather take out the engine from the top, than try to remove the transmission from the top. Would that work or do I have to take out the transmission from the bottom even if the engine is already removed from the top?

      acereppinstp you don't need to remove the rack and pinion? For this year? I did a 2000 accord v6 trans and a 2001 Accord trans on 4cyl both went thru the bottom i took off the subframe off the v6 but not the rack.

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At 2:31 you can clearly see this subframe is a 1-piece design! You have to remove the entire subframe. The older accords, RLs are 2-piece [I think up to '03] those require partial subframe removal while leaving rack assembly installed.
      How about uploading content so we can see that 15yrs of experience bro!
