I will say, Comics always seem to make the Zeti more interesting and better explained. Even the short prequel comic that explained eggman finding the conch, meeting the Six, what they do, what the Hex is, etc (which should have been in the game itself), they were a fun addition. To say nothing of them in the IDW comics which takes full advantage of them.

Honestly I feel like Roger Craig Smith works best as Boom Sonic because his voice feels more natural and not Forced. It also works considering Boom Sonic is a lot more casual and laid back compared to the other sonics who are more energetic. That and Boom Sonic is supposed to be older than the others If I'm not mistaken.
I've been playing this recently and I really hate the level design, just so so much. The actual Sonic controls are great though. I wish they used a similar style in another game with better levels. Yo Sega, there's a reason Sonic X-Treme didn't happen, because totally tubular levels are trash.

Sonic's dialogue in this game sounds like something from the early EARLY seasons of Power Rangers. I get writing good dialogue is hard (It's incredibly hard. Seriously, give it a try. It's way different then story and world-building), but it's doable. Like you said, Soda, the Sonic Boom cartoon's dialogue is fantastic!
Nah, I’ve gotta step in here and say that’s not true. It’s more that different writers have different strengths. I know lots of writers who’s dialogue is their best skill, including myself. I suppose I did devote time to learning how to write good dialogue, but still. It’s an inherent part of storytelling, and one most professional writers should have a grasp on, eventually. Truly, sonic team needs to get a writer who works and reworks the dialogue from the other team members, who is a good dialogue writer themselves.

A number of corrections: Emerl died in the game he was introduced so he wasn't forgotten... not really anyway. In Sonic Advance 3, he's rebuilt as Gemerl, HE'S the one who has been forgotten. Mighty and Ray were in Mania Plus, so were the Hooligans. Mecha Knuckles and Tails Doll were brought back in a comic after Mania's release. Big was in TSR and referenced Froggy. Shade is actually not Sonic Team's fault in the slightest, it's actually a whole big deal I don't want to get into. Ultra Sonic is part of the Archie Comics which ended a while ago.

Btw, I can think of two instances where a dashpanel throws you off a cliff in Sonic 06. One would be Radical Train, where the first loop in Sonic and Shadow's portion can throw you off if you stand too close to one of the sides. The other would be a ring mission in New City where you break wooden boxes and item boxes that contain rings to end the level. Halfway through, there are ring chains and one of them is in front of a dashpanel. If you lightspeed dash that specific one and then don't hold any direction on the controlstick, Sonic will be faster than normal through the next 2 dashpanels, heads towards a cliff and falls into the water.

1:27:03 I'm quite surprised that Rad didn't question Eggman's cartoonish flying capability. I mean, we can see him jumping off the cliff, but as he realizes that jetpack doesn't work, he just stops dead like something is holding him. Only after Sonic's words he falls down into the pit.
Okay to explain why the Homing Attack doesn't charge sometimes. The game calculates how much "HP" the enemy has or how much the phase has. Let's say Phase 1 has four hits, you hit the enemy with a Level 3 Homing Attack now it has one "HP", the Homing Attack will ONLY charge to level 1 in order to do damage because there's no point it charging to Level 3 or Max in order to do damage. This accidentally gives the illusion that the Homing Attack does not charge properly while in actuality its designed to make all Phases have the "HP" they want to have. Its why when you hit an enemy they go into Phase 2 or are defeated after a single Level 1 Homing Attack. That or the System is completely messed up...
Since enemies don't have visible life meters like Heroes, Shadow or 06 it seems like more inconsistency. Not helping how it's always a coin toss in Sonic games wether or not Boss life meters will be visible.

Emerl died in the game he was introduced so he wasn't forgotten... not really anyway. In Sonic Advance 3, he's rebuilt as Gemerl, HE'S the one who has been forgotten.
Mighty and Ray were in Mania Plus, so were the Hooligans.
Mecha Knuckles and Tails Doll were brought back in a comic after Mania's release.
Big was in TSR and referenced Froggy.
Shade is actually not Sonic Team's fault in the slightest, it's actually a whole big deal I don't want to get into.

Btw, I can think of two instances where a dashpanel throws you off a cliff in Sonic 06.
One would be Radical Train, where the first loop in Sonic and Shadow's portion can throw you off if you stand too close to one of the sides.
The other would be a ring mission in New City where you break wooden boxes and item boxes that contain rings to end the level. Halfway through, there are ring chains and one of them is in front of a dashpanel. If you lightspeed dash that specific one and then don't hold any direction on the controlstick, Sonic will be faster than normal through the next 2 dashpanels, heads towards a cliff and falls into the water.

1:27:03 I'm quite surprised that Rad didn't question Eggman's cartoonish flying capability. I mean, we can see him jumping off the cliff, but as he realizes that jetpack doesn't work, he just stops dead like something is holding him. Only after Sonic's words he falls down into the pit.
Okay to explain why the Homing Attack doesn't charge sometimes. The game calculates how much "HP" the enemy has or how much the phase has. Let's say Phase 1 has four hits, you hit the enemy with a Level 3 Homing Attack now it has one "HP", the Homing Attack will ONLY charge to level 1 in order to do damage because there's no point it charging to Level 3 or Max in order to do damage. This accidentally gives the illusion that the Homing Attack does not charge properly while in actuality its designed to make all Phases have the "HP" they want to have. Its why when you hit an enemy they go into Phase 2 or are defeated after a single Level 1 Homing Attack.
That or the System is completely messed up...
Since enemies don't have visible life meters like Heroes, Shadow or 06 it seems like more inconsistency.
Not helping how it's always a coin toss in Sonic games wether or not Boss life meters will be visible.
Wow, it's almost like it would've been better to just have a regular homing attack system or display health instead of trying to be all innovative
