Nice one Tich. Loved the whine that mount made, sounds sweet. Good to see it all working and you'll fix all the gremlins in no time

Thanks mate I must admit it sound better than the servo motors they had originally, very happy with it so far I keep eyeing up the Newt thinking yeah I can squeeze that in there lol.

Thanks mate there was a time I thought about just getting rid of the mount but I'm so glad I didn't.

Great to see you got the mount up and running nicely Tich. Man, those cable Gremlins can certainly drive you crazy for sure. Those images looked great - nice detail and the stars looked nice and round as far i could tell. Clear skies.

Thanks Logan yeah those pesky Gremlins really tried our patience I must admit & cables failing for no reason was totally baffling. I know conditions weren't great but even after all the hassles it were nice to be imaging something.
      Clear skies mate.

I've been using it for a year now & it's not let me down at all. I see that Chad is making a kit for the CGE to which is great.

Love shooting M51, my best image was achieved with the Mewlon + reducer. Nice to see things coming together with the RASA. Yep, the moon can be a real issue shooting broadband targets like galaxies. Looking forward to seeing more video's from you.

Thats not bad at all.. can only get better.. hope you get the PPB sorted out.. Im having probs with Vignetting so thinking about Baader UFC as it might help 🤥

Thanks the camera I'm using is an APSC sensor with M42 thread to connect to the filter drawer & goes from M42 to M48 all the way down the the RASA including the spacers but it still suffers with vignetting. I'll probably get myself another 269C later in the year as that matched the RASA well, plus it's a lot more forgiving regarding the tilt issue.

Amazing! I am considering the 8” RASA for portability. But what I really want is the 11”, which I believe you have? I think it would be a bit heavy and big though for portability. Would you agree?
Love your observatory!!! Thanks for sharing.

Hi & thanks for your comment, the RASA 11 is definitely not what I'd call a grab & go at 43 pounds (19.5KG's) I had to remove the top dovetail & add an extra counterweight on the AZ EQ6GT (Orion Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G) that I used it on to begin with & even then it were overweight but it did work ok, so after a lot of thinking I got the CGE pro working & I'm glad I did. Incidentally the telescope you used to image M101 & the supernova is identical to the Newtonian I used later in the video to image the Whirlpool galaxy except it's branded a Skywatcher & used to be fitted on a Dobsonian base. I need to get that one reinstated in the observatory if I can make it fit for galaxy season next year. As for a RASA 8 that's a scope definitely worth considering.
Thanks for watching & clear skies.

well that guiding look so smooth. its even better then mine. what settings do you use for the ra ?i am around 80 %,maybe its to much. funny is i usethe same guiderscope i think..oldy qhy 5 ? i have a 170 mm scope on it,it works well. greetings.

Hi John mine is set to 60% with 1 second exposures, in the algorithm tab on the RA I set it to predictive pec, not sure if it helps but after watching one of Cuiv the lazy geek video's I thought I'd give it a try. Actually thinking about it the settings are the same for when the AZ EQ6 was in the observatory all I did was let PHD recalibrate so they seem to work well. Maybe I'll have a tinker with the settings at a later date but for now I'll leave well alone.
