Here in Utah we put gravel underneath the pipe before we lay it and then backfill about half way up with gravel, it eliminates having voids or settling underneath the pipe. Good work though guys! it takes balls to tackle a job like this when you’ve never done it.
Hey Carson schifsky love watching your channel alot every day u are awesome TH-camr keep up the amazing work on your channel say safe and healthy with your family i hope this will get better soon so we can all get back to normal life 😀
Couple things to help go faster with pipe, as you lay, your excavator can put some dirt on top of pipe to keep pipe from shifting. No deeper than that is and excavator size can almost dig and lay 3 sticks at once then before moving back have excavator put some dirt over pipes, then skid steer or loader can backfill with about 2ft over pipe and then compact
If your gonna run pipe ya don’t need two excavators ya do need a Backhoe or a rubber tire loader with a side dump bucket. Side dump buckets makes backfilling allot easier.
usually you have a hoe digging, a loader should feed you the backfill and you run a compactor on the second hoe and follow right behind. also id suggest taking the bucket off while you set pipe for future reference. safety thing. otherwise looks good!

Dang! You didn't waste any time getting that up! Good video showing the project. I agree, the seat belt beeper on that D6 was pretty annoying...
ohhhh is that what that was? lol i was wondering what was going on
@@CarsonSchifsky ya, it's one of the safety features on the new machines.
Great videos, been following you alot man. Love it!
Glad you like them!
Awesome project i find the best way to do these types of jobs is a 20ish ton excavator to dig and a backhoe to backfill because they are so versatile
I appreciate your honesty. Great video, as always. Hope it all works out in the end
Thank you! i think everything will fall into place!

People never learn unless you make a mistake!! Good recovery man!!!!
Everyones gotta learn somehow! hopefully we can show the mistakes and help someone else!

Also get a set of forks and string the pipe out behind the excavator so ya don’t have to track as much

Thank you sir! Surly noted on the bucket is that just a weight thing? These sticks weren’t that heavy
Did u ever pick up an excavator? Good video
Yep we bought that doosan
You may need more moisture in the soil for proper compaction.
We did pass the density tests but we were planning on having a water truck for the road when we install the base.
8 - 10 inch lifts.
