    What is the relay number? Other say you need a diode kit to get the leds to work

    I have a led breaklight with turn signals integrated into it and it works with aftermarket led front turn signals however I want to restore the bikes plastics and the led front signals don’t fit like oem so I have a set of oe style turn signals that are regular bulb style when I swap the regular signals on the front signal stays solid however the rear signal (led) will flash like normal when I put the front leds back on the circuit functions like normal wth is the problem here do I need a resistor ?

    I changed all for indicators to LEDs and when turned in and either left or right signal all go off like hazards. I have change the relay to a LED relay but still have the same problem. Do I need to look at putting a bulb aftermarket one on but I like the LED ones I have as they are bright and small

    Hey man I just bought a 250 Ninja, having this issue I just replaced the blinkers because there were duct tape on the ones that came with it lol 🙄 they worked but didn't look so good haha... But unfortunately The eBay link you put in the description does not work anymore, any chance you could send me another one or the specifics of the relay I would need to find?

    I got a tst brake light and installed it. Now mine stay on. My question is tst is recommending their flasher which is 30$ Amazon has them for 7$ would the Amazon one work or does it have to be the tst since it’s their tail light

      The cheaper one should work, its the same principal even if its in an Integrated turn signal.

    Hey man. Just got a 2011 ninja 250.
    First week it fell over off the kickstand. Busted the mirror and left turn signal. I bought aftermarket LEDs that have the 3 arrows. Hooked one up and the left rear OEM stayed lit up while the aftermarket flased 1 2 all 3 arrows.
    I'm thinking about just getting all 4 turn signals as the aftermarket arrows turn signals.
    My question is....do you think I'll need an upgraded relay? Is it just 1 relay for all 4 signals or 1 for the front and 1 for the back set? Or left and right? Also, will I need anything else? I saw you say something about inoine resistors on another comment.
    What do you think I'll need for all 4 turn signals.to be aftermarket?

    I read that I needed resistors on a thread online, I have the same exact bike in black, any idea if it will do the same thing before I cut up the wires?

    • @86mstar
      @86mstar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Adam, Yes resistors in line with the lights should work as long as your flasher module is in good condition. I suspected that this one was not working properly so decided to just replace it. I would assume the wires were already cut and spliced to add the led lights? I would recommend using that rather than cutting the wires a second time to add the resistors inline.

    hey, i have a ninja 300, i replaced the turn signals and had the same problem, i am about to buy a relay but i am afraid that the front casual turn signals wont work with the new relay.
    would the front genuine turn signals work with the new relay? or would i have to change them?

    • @86mstar
      @86mstar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the new relay will work with oem or LED, so it should be fine

    Good video, but the system doesn’t “think” anything. :)
    I’m not trying to be a smart alec about computers, logic, or AI… I’m saying that the original flasher is a thermal relay and there may be some benefit to explaining that.
    If there isn’t enough load a thermal relay doesn’t get hot enough for the bi-metallic strip inside to pop back and forth from dissimilar metals expanding and contracting at different rates. This is purely an electromechanical issue. There is no logic involved.
    Thermal relays only need two wires while an electronic relay with a timer for LEDs typically needs another ground (EP35, for example). The “universal” type with two prongs probably requires a capacitor in the relay’s internal circuit since it would be cutting itself off with the blinkers otherwise and couldn’t time anything. The capacitor discharge itself can even substitute for an electronic timer.
    I used the EP35 because it’s cheap and available at any auto parts store. I just plugged the original wires in and made a jumper wire to the chassis ground (any bolt on the bike’s frame) for the third. Easy and cheap!

      @86mstar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I would guess your blinker module has started to fail. swapping it, like this, should fix the issue.

      86mstar I would need one blinker module for each side or will one do the job for the front and rear blinkers?

    I have a issue with my bike it's a,different model but I replaced it with a new relay worked few days a later it,stoped flashing again any idea what it could be?

    • @86mstar
      @86mstar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you haven't pinched a wire when yu put it back together. check to make sure yu haven't blown a turn signal bulb. also you might have just got a bad relay that had a factory defect and just died within a few day try a new one. hope this helps good luck and thanks for checking out the channel.

    Mine did work initially for over 6 months, then it just stop. Nothing comes on. No one have a video on it. It’s a 2015 ninja 636.

    • @86mstar
      @86mstar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Quang, that is odd indeed. My first thought for that would be that a wire might have come loose or got pinched. If you have an electrical tester, you can check that the blinker module is getting power. If not, then you should follow the wires back and try to find the broken or loose connection. If it is, then you will likely need to replace the module like this video.
