Such a good review I just bought one getting in September & you have explained the car so much better than the sales woman!

Very detailed 👌 Great vid mate. Now, talking about the A3's new face, am I the only one who thinks that badge looks out of place so high up? Don't think the new placement of the 4 rings is an improvement 🫤

A great overview Sam. I heard that the reason why the 1.0 litre was dropped in the A3 is that it could not produce reasonable MPG. 😀

Thanks Andrew! That’s interesting, around town the 1.0 engines are very efficient but I suppose with most people doing longer journeys, in a car of that size I agree it’s best to have that extra cylinder.

I owned one for over two years in the 8V model. My average economy (trip to was never reset) over 30,000 miles of driving was 55.2 mpg.
I didn’t drive it slowly either.
Medium length motorway journeys would regularly see in excess of 60 mpg - without even trying.
It is the most economical car i’ve ever had, and it had no electrical assistance such as MHEV tech whatsoever.
I’ve now got a Mercedes A Class, and despite only being a 1.3, it is nowhere near as economical - despite being driven in the same way.

Do you know if the S line model has the contour ambient lighting that runs across the dashboard? I think the black edition’s dash is made from a dark cloth textile. Fantastic review 🙂

As far as I am aware, yes the S Line comes with the coloured ambient lighting according to the Audi UK website. Yes the Black Edition dash was a dark textile, very nice!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed my video 😄

Would never buy an Audi. Went to my nearest Audi MD some years back interested in the then new A3. Salesman suggested I come look at a car he had on offer. He showed me a 3 year old A3! I said WTF is this, it's not new? He said he thought it would be 'more affordable'? I said 'What do you mean, I specifically asked about new not used!' Walked out of the garage and have never set foot in there again. A couple of people I know have been ignored in there despite asking for a salesman to discuss a new car.

That’s unfortunate to hear, Lake District Audi where I made this review are excellent, so not all Audi main dealerships are like that!
Unfortunately dealers represent the brand rather than being employed by them, meaning a motor group employs the staff. I wouldn’t rule out the whole brand for this reason, but I agree I wouldn’t return to that particular dealership!

Dealership sales people will always try to shift stock they physically have on the forecourt. Selling a car that is yet to come off the production line, the salesperson doesn't get paid their commission until the car is delivered.
