I have to say these are pretty sturdy non complicated engines, I have one in my quad and its never skipped a beat, serviced it a few times and it just fires up every time. Good luck with this one, the parts are pretty cheap and lasts very long. It's very nice for a go-kart/mini cross kart.

Hi, I bought a zongshen bike out of a scrap yard for £40 last year, me and a friend got it running and it sounded good, took it out a few times but it has developed a ticking noise or clicking noise at the top of the engine, it still runs good and plenty of power am just wondering would you know what the sound could be?

Lifters likely....? At 2:00 you can see they're adjustable.

    Good vid.
I have a 2007, gio 250cc , 167fmm , 5 speex with reverse atv, but I can never find any information for a gio250cc engine. Is it possible these engines are made by the same factories, but just re-branded?

Hi John. Thanks for the kind words.
The GIO 250 looks similar (but not identical) externally and if the engine code starts with ZS then it's a Zongshen.
You may find a few differences though - it could be a little different because it's a second or third generation motor, versus mine which is one of the first gens out of a comet.
      Good luck though!

Sometimes a part kit might include multiple possible parts that fit different variations of engines for the same model number and year. Just pick one that closest matches the original

@@christianhudspeth3338 other people told me the same thing so that's what I did the motor runs great for about 5 minutes until it gets hot and then it wants to start backfiring or sweating and it won't run unless I have the choke on then after a little while it won't run at all till it cools down

Hi I have an old zongshen 250cc engine the EXACT SAME AS THE ONE IN THIS VIDEO, I'm doing a full engine rebuild on my engine can you or anyone tell me were to find the main engines parts, I've looked everywhere and I'm having no luck finding anything apart from Just the piston head kit, what happened was my Kickstarter shaft teeth had grinded down after years of kicking so i have a brand new Kickstarter shaft that I'm replacing so I just thought if I'm going to have to split the full engines main crank casing to put a £13 Kickstarter shaft in, well I'm surly going to do a full rebuild, so please help me for parts as I'm really stuck and I don't know what to type in to the internet to get all the parts I need to rebuild it, thanks

Hi Keith. The best places to get parts in Australia is ebay, believe it or not. But if you're in the UK you might be best physically loading the AU or US ebay sites (change the .co.uk to .com or .com.au) and check them out that way.
      Hope that helps.
