I have been doubting my salvation so much because of my struggle with an eating disorder for many years. I kept thinking I was not bearing the fruit that Christians should be showing and knowing that I had this issue that I was not trusting God enough and maybe I was never saved. But after hearing your sermon of this subject confirmed to me that God did save me and not of my own doing. I trusted in Christ to save me from my sins at a young age and as an adult the struggling with doubt that maybe I didn't mean it by my actions. But thanks be to God that I see in his Word that he did save may and I don't have to doubt every time I don't measure up. I need to keep reminding myself of God's truth to remind me that I am his.

@@hyeminkwun9523 We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone (nothing else, especially NOT our deeds cuz we are all sinners and will always fall short before God & His holiness). Working on the salvation that we are granted by God through His indescribable grace is the evidence that we have truly been His true disciples. Any faithful deeds come as the fruits of the Spirit who lives in us, not the reason why we are saved. “Faith” without deeds / evidence of the true faith means false faith , netter yet say it as no faith. No faith means no salvation, no salvation means eternal death in hell.
@laura & @abhishek, be very careful to discern your thoughts. Many believe they are saved but Jesus would deny them. Read your Bible wholeheartedly in prayers & total submission to God’s sovereignty. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the right discernment to know the real truth , not the false one. YES Jesus’ true disciples are saved through faith in Christ alone and by God’s grace alone, but faith without deeds is false / no faith. There is a principle difference between stay sinning and falling in sin. We all will still sin while still living in flesh, but stay sinful is a conscious decision to deny and reject God’s law. There is no resurrection/ new life of the new creation without burying the old sinful self. Jesus Himself tells us we are not worthy of being His disciples without bearing the cross (controlling our whole beings according to His will)
Have you not heard the Ephesians 1:13 "gospel of your salvation" by which lost souls are saved today? What is this gospel? Its written to us today at 1st Corinthians 15 verses 1-4 king james version. Believe: Jesus already forgave you and died for all your sins according to scripture: Because of Adams sin, there were none good in the eyes of God. All have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of God He [Jesus] who new no sin was made sin for you. He's NOT mad at you. He loves you. He litterally loved you to death. He reconciled himself to you, me, and the world. He made peace with you by way of his blood-stained cross, presenting himself as a perfect sacrifice for your sins. He was then buried WITH your sins, and rose again three says later WITHOUT your sins, so you would recieve this truth, believe it and be saved. Dont take my word for it. Believe the book: "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 1Corinthians 15 verses 1-4 king james version. @@MrKev1664 Hi, your last point about staying united to Christ through obedience is what he's getting at. That's wrong. Christ died and "has perfected forever those who are being made holy." That's hebrews 10:14. That whole chapter makes it clear.

By Dictionary Definition... the English word JUSTIFICATION is a noun which means... a GOOD reason/ground/just cause/basis/rationale/explanation/excuse for something that exists or has been done. By Theology (Biblical) definition... JUSTIFICATION is Declaring/Proclaiming/Announcing/Making Known/Revealing the RIGHTEOUS acts/deeds done in the Sight of God... Amen. Therefore, AFTER becoming a CHRISTIAN by Believing, Accepting, Repenting, and undergoing Water Baptism... the Christian "FAITH" in Christ Jesus by God's Grace is "JUSTIFIED" through "GOOD Works (Deeds/Acts.)"... Not just any Kind of Work (Deeds/Acts) but based on the "Law of Christ" that comes with LOVE for God above all, followed by the love towards their neighbors (foes alike) just as they love themselves... For FAITH without Charity (love) of GOOD WORKS based on the Law of Christ is a 'DEAD FAITH" (Ref.: James 2)... Amen. TRUE FAITH does not always PRODUCE Good Works (Acts/Deeds) based on the Law of Christ... HOW/WHY?... let us analyze... based on the Parable of the VINE... (Ref.: John 15) The Bible narrates that Christ Jesus is the TRUE VINE, God is the GARDENER, the Christians are the BRANCHES, and the FRUITS are Good Works/Acts/Deeds based on the Law of Christ... One of the requirements for the Branches to be able to BEAR FRUITS (produce Good Works/Acts/Deeds) is to be ATTACHED first to the VINE (Christ Jesus)... But it does not mean that just because the Branches are attached to the VINE, the branches could AUTOMATICALLY produce FRUITS Take Note:... Being attached to the VINE (Christ) means having a TRUE FAITH... logically speaking, nobody can be attached to the VINE if they have a FALSE FAITH... It is either True or False ONLY... But why do some BRANCHES that are already attached to the VINE (Christ) do not bear/produce FRUITS (Good Works) that the Gardener (God) has the needs/requires to PRUNE the Branches to produce fruits and if still do not bear Fruits, the Gardener (God) will have to remove/cut off the Branches attached to the Vine and throw them into the FIRE? Take Note:... No one can remove from Christ Jesus' Hand, those that God had given unto Him, (correct!)...but God also has the POWER and AUTHORITY to remove them from Christ's hand (by removing their names in the Tree of Life)... therefore, only the Gardener (God) has the Power and Authority to remove/cut-off the Branches attached to the VINE (Christ)... Remember, God is both the "GIVER and TAKER" of life, who can destroy both Body and Soul and can divide/split/separate the Soul and Spirit... while the Son, Christ Jesus is not the TAKER (Death) but the "GIVER" of life... "I am the only WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE (not death)... (in part)"... "My Father (God) and I are ONE and the same, but my Father is greater than I AM." ... There are certain things that the Son can not do, that only the Father God has the Power and Authority to do... So, why do you think some BRANCHES attached to the VINE do not produce/bear FRUITS?... because of their PRIORITY of INTENSION... Some Christians with TRUE FAITH in Christ Jesus (attached to the VINE), focus more on DOING Good works based on the Law of Christ because of the Promise REWARD/PRIZE of Salvation that at the end they failed ... rather than doing Good Works based on the Law of Christ because of the LOVE for God with all their Hearts, Soul, Mind and Strength and love towards their neighbors (foes alike)... They do it out of the Promise Reward of Salvation in the Afterlife... instead of Doing it for LOVE... I did not say SALVATION is not important, it is a matter of PRIORITY of RIGHTEOUS INTENSION (right cause of reason)... In conclusion, TRUE FAITH in Christ does not always automatically produce/bear FRUITS... but TRUE LOVE for God, always automatically produce/bear FRUITS (100%)... Some FOCUS more on what the Bible had to say, that they forget the "TRUE ESSENCE" of WHY God had sent His only Begotten Son to His own Death on the Cross... "LOVE"...
Faith does bear fruit. Peace is a fruit. Joy is a fruit. Who does not bear peace & joy knowing they are justified apart from works, knowing it is God that keeps you righteous because you know He will always keep His promise? I have lots of peace & joy because of this assurance of salvation. God enables me to love Him & others by giving all things to me freely in Christ Jesus. Therefore I can love God, expecting nothing in return. I can love others, expecting nothing in return. Why? Because God has loved me expecting nothing in return & I already have all things in Christ Jesus so I’m never working for anything. I’ve entered His rest. I’ve ceased from my works. Now I can labor more than all, yet not I, but the grace of God that is with me.
@MrKev1664 You couldn't be more wrong. It is by faith alone in the works that Christ has done. My works do NOTHING to justify me in the sight of God. It is only by Faith alone, in Christ alone that we will be Justified in the ite of God.
I didn’t want to be born why would God force me into existence? I didn’t ask to have an eternal conscience, this isn’t fair. I don’t want to go through anything I don’t want anything, why am I forced into all of this?. It wasn’t my choice to have all of this responsibility. Why couldn’t God just leave me alone

@@timothyflaherty5150 If I gathered your question correctly, it's both. First and far most I desire to be blessed per scriptural outlined. God pronounced to Abraham His benefits to Abraham which in turn would benefit all mankind. Jesus as a Jew made His proclamation for the benefit of His brethren and all outside the Jewish nation to be careful in ones relationship with the Jewish people. They pretty much reflect the same except Matthew 25 31-46 is more descriptive where Genesis 12:3 is not, and it's my attempt to combine them and show what's at stake.
@@willielee5253 Hi again Willie. The two choices are unavoidably mutually exclusive. If you would, please, which of the two would you feel best describes the view you espouse.
@@timothyflaherty5150 We are talking about the same people and if you are a believer and understand Jesus as God in the flesh, then it is Jesus repeating in Matthew what He said to Abraham in Genesis. @@willielee5253 I apologize Willie, I am not following you very well, it could easily be my problem. The video we are posting on is a teaching on justification. In your view, could one be completely justified before having had accomplished, perhaps to any degree, the acts which Jesus enumerated, and which you have cited?

You are correct. We Catholics don't not deny the justification of the ungodly by faith apart from works of righteousness. Trent is very clear in chapter 8 of session 6 that it is Jesus who makes satisfaction for us and that it is He who merits justification by the wood of the cross. While Catholics understand the justification of the ungodly ( which comes first) and then the justification of the godly which is where we are healed more and more from the ontological consequences of sin through conforming to the infused righteousness of Christ poured out into us. John piper rejects this justification of the godly when he says that we will still be sinners even in heaven. Sadder words I don't recall hearing
1:49 These liars slip in words that are not in the Scriptures, while "quoting" Scripture. It does not say "justified by faith alone apart from works of the law". At least he did not truncate off "of the law"!!! However it does not say faith alone. "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law." The ONLY place in the New Testament the two words "faith" and "alone" are put together is where it says we are NOT justified by faith ALONE! "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." So these are NOT works of the Law of Moses, but other works. And in Ephesians 2.9-10 there are TWO types of works mentioned: 1. those that can lead to boasting in oneself 2. good works from God we are custom fitted for and in which we are to walk all about. We are NOT justified by the former, but ARE justified by the latter, for the latter come THROUGH faith (v.8). It is not rocket science, but men want to cram it into their theological system, whichever they have bought into and making their living off of.
Christ be with you No we are saved by Jesus and he will save those who repent and obey him. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (1 Peter 3:21) there is no salvation without repentance, Come to Christ
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing (Like John Piper), but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15. John Piper's message leads to the Lake Of Fire!
Dr. John Piper says in support of the false doctrine that Christ's Righteousness itself imputed to us: 'Suppose I say to Barnabas, my sixteen-year-old son, "Clean up your room before you go to school. You must have a clean room, or you won't be able to go watch the game tonight." Well, suppose he plans poorly and leaves for school without cleaning the room. And suppose I discover the messy room and clean it. His afternoon fills up and he gets home just before it's time to leave for the game and realizes what he has done and feels terrible. He apologizes and humbly accepts the consequences. To which I say, "Barnabas, I am going to credit your apology and submission as a clean room. I said, 'You must have a clean room, or you won't be able to go watch the game tonight. Your room is clean. So you can go to the game." What I mean when I say, "I credit your apology as a clean room," is not that the apology is the clean room. Nor that he really cleaned his room. I cleaned it. It was pure grace. All I mean is that, in my way of reckoning - in my grace - his apology connects him with the promise given for a clean room. The clean room is his clean room. I credit it to him. Or, I credit his apology as a clean room. You can say it either way. And Paul said it both ways: "Faith is credited as righteousness," and "God credits righteousness to us through faith." So when God says, this morning, to those who believe in Christ, "I credit your faith as righteousness," he does not mean that your faith is righteousness. He means that your faith connects you to God's righteousness.' But that example is erroneous. We must see how the above situation pans out into the future. John Piper’s son Barnabas cannot expect his father to repeat it every day what his father did for him that particular day (clean his room). Christ has atoned our sins. That is, he wiped away all our past sins, not our future sins as well. See Romans 3:25; 2 Peter 1:9. We have received forgiveness for our past sins up until the time when we were born-again, not for future sins. That is the reason why we have the Ordinance of the Table/Breaking of Bread/ Communion, where we keep short accounts with God and judge and cleanse ourselves regularly. See "Engineering our Divinity": agapekingdom.org/agapeambassador/engineering-divinity/ "Faith is credited as righteousness" (Romans 4:5), not instead of fruit/ love/ works/ righteousness. "Justification by faith does not mean that faith is accepted as a substitute for personal holiness, or that by an arbitrary constitution, faith is imputed to us instead of personal obedience to the law. Some suppose that justification is this, that the necessity of personal holiness is set aside, and that God arbitrarily dispenses with the requirement of the law, and imputes faith as a substitute. But this is not the way. Faith is accounted for just what it is, and not for something else that it is not. Abraham's faith was imputed unto him for righteousness, because it was itself an act of righteousness, and because it worked by love, and thus produced holiness. Justifying faith is holiness, so far as it goes, and produces holiness of heart and life, and is imputed to the believer as holiness, not instead of holiness." ~ Charles Finney "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become (future tense) the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21) Therefore, "we are not just and righteous, until we are just and righteous!" (The Catechism of the Catholic Church) Therefore, it is faith that is imputed to us, not righteousness! Faith is the minimum balance (₹1) with which we can open a bank account in heaven. It is a balance, which we cannot boast about (Ephesians 2:8). But it is nonetheless a real bank account in heaven, into which we can credit more amounts of righteousness as we, pilgrims, progress into the future.
You're mixing Catholic doctrine with Charles Finney? I'm sure that ends well... First God is not temporal, he is not bound by time. "The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since *he always lives to make intercession for them.* For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since *he did this once for all* when he offered up himself." Hebrews 7:23-27 "I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. *He is the propitiation for our sins,*" John 2:1-2 Secondly, while it is good, necessary even, that we strive after righteous conduct: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 But if you for a moment think you can hold up any of your finite works as sufficient for the purpose of atonement of an infinite offense against God, you are deluding yourself: "To the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due." Romans 4:4 "You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace." Galatians 5:4 "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace." Romans 11:6
@@reubenmartin1930 Not able to process everything that you shared. But this one thing I want to say: *The work-religion after we are born again are no longer "filthy rags" of Isaiah 64 but they are "fine linen" of Revelation 19:8.*
Also, atonement means only our past sins have been forgiven. It is no Gospel at all but rather a license to sin if you hold that even future sins are forgiven. See 2 Pet 1:9 and Rom 3:25. Hope that helps.

Come to Christ
God bless you. I too had the same experience but the thing in my case is lust.
Roman 6:16-17 states. "You are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin, which leads you to death, or of obedience to teaching, which leads you to righteousness." And 1 John 3:8-9 states, "Whoever sins belongs to the Devil. No one, who is begotten by God, commits sin." Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, please examine yourselves sincerely and determine which category you belong to. Many of you believe some verses in the Bible, think they know and follow Christ, and are saved; and find themselves to be in the first one. Why? Because they do not truly know Christ, nor the True Faith, and are separated from the Source of Grace like branches separated from the Vine (John 15:6).
St. Paul said in 1 Cor 9:27, "I chastise my body and bring it into subjection, lest perhaps, after I have preached to others, I myself should become a reprobate." St. Paul, an Apostle, was concerned about the possibility of losing his salvation and said "work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12)", thus proving that 'Once Saved, Always Saved', 'Faith alone", or 'Predestined" is a complete lie from Hell, and that the salvation requires a great efforts on our part to truly live according to Our Lord's Commandments of Love and observing All He commanded as taught by His One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church (Matt 28:20), pillar and foundation of Truth (1 Tim 3:15), so that we may be transformed into the True Image and Likeness of Christ (Rom 8:29, 2 Cor 3:18); because, we are judged, not by Faith, but according to our deeds and works (Rev 20:13, 22:12, Matt 25:31-46, Ezekiel 18:19-30), as only those who OBSERVE All the teachings and PERSEVERE TO THE END (Matt 24:13) are justified (Rom 2:13).

We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone (nothing else, especially NOT our deeds cuz we are all sinners and will always fall short before God & His holiness).
Jesus Himself tells us we are not worthy of being His disciples without bearing the cross (controlling our whole beings according to His will)
Thank you King Jesus for John Piper’s preaching❤
Amen and Amen!
Have you not heard the Ephesians 1:13 "gospel of your salvation" by which lost souls are saved today?
What is this gospel? Its written to us today at 1st Corinthians 15 verses 1-4 king james version.
Believe:
Jesus already forgave you and died for all your sins according to scripture:
Because of Adams sin, there were none good in the eyes of God.
All have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of God
He [Jesus] who new no sin was made sin for you.
Believe the book:
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

Thats the good news!
God is waiting for you to come to him through faith in the FINISHED performance of Jesus Christ and nothing else.
Ephesians 2:8,9. Romans 3:20
When you do, you are made righteous in the sight of God, because you are now "in Christ" and Christ is in you.
Isnt that amazing? The God of all creation is in you. And you are in him!
Will you put your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ?
Romans 3:25.
Be made justified and reconcile yourself back to God. Romans 5:1
He has already completed all the work for your salvation. Now all God wants to know is, will you trust him?

That's hebrews 10:14. There's a distinction between passages that teach law and those that teach gospel. we are instructed to put all our hope in the righteousness "our inheritance" that is kept in heaven with Christ through faith (1 Peter 1:4-5).

(Ref.: John 15)
The Bible narrates that Christ Jesus is the TRUE VINE, God is the GARDENER, the Christians are the BRANCHES, and the FRUITS are Good Works/Acts/Deeds based on the Law of Christ...
One of the requirements for the Branches to be able to BEAR FRUITS (produce Good Works/Acts/Deeds) is to be ATTACHED first to the VINE (Christ Jesus)... But it does not mean that just because the Branches are attached to the VINE, the branches could AUTOMATICALLY produce FRUITS
Take Note:...

"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law."
The ONLY place in the New Testament the two words "faith" and "alone" are put together is where it says we are NOT justified by faith ALONE!
The clean room analogy is unbiblical. An appology isn't a belief. We aren't saved by repenting.
Christ be with you
No we are saved by Jesus and he will save those who repent and obey him.
Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (1 Peter 3:21)

What a fake
Heretic
Dr. John Piper says in support of the false doctrine that Christ's Righteousness itself imputed to us:
'Suppose I say to Barnabas, my sixteen-year-old son, "Clean up your room before you go to school. He means that your faith connects you to God's righteousness.'
But that example is erroneous. See "Engineering our Divinity": agapekingdom.org/agapeambassador/engineering-divinity/
"Faith is credited as righteousness" (Romans 4:5), not instead of fruit/ love/ works/ righteousness.
Justifying faith is holiness, so far as it goes, and produces holiness of heart and life, and is imputed to the believer as holiness, not instead of holiness." ~ Charles Finney
"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become (future tense) the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Therefore, "we are not just and righteous, until we are just and righteous!" (The Catechism of the Catholic Church)
Therefore, it is faith that is imputed to us, not righteousness!
Totally erroneous.
@@oongerabinisaac7410 Stop taking wild shots. Be specific. And you will get an answer.
He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since *he did this once for all* when he offered up himself." Hebrews 7:23-27
"I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. *He is the propitiation for our sins,*" John 2:1-2
Secondly, while it is good, necessary even, that we strive after righteous conduct:
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10
But if you for a moment think you can hold up any of your finite works as sufficient for the purpose of atonement of an infinite offense against God, you are deluding yourself:
"To the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due." Romans 4:4
"You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace." Galatians 5:4
"But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace." Romans 11:6
@@reubenmartin1930 Not able to process everything that you shared. But this one thing I want to say:
*The work-religion after we are born again are no longer "filthy rags" of Isaiah 64 but they are "fine linen" of Revelation 19:8.*
Also, atonement means only our past sins have been forgiven. It is no Gospel at all but rather a license to sin if you hold that even future sins are forgiven. See 2 Pet 1:9 and Rom 3:25. Hope that helps.
