      @cablecow15 tbf Astro Boy is pretty fricking old, and pretty niche anime in the west. But, I legitimately think this could be a sleeper show, if made canon. Besides, "Jedi droids" aren't a new thing in Star Wars, and how long after Grievous and the clone wars is the New Republic era, how much better has the technology gotten?

    I think, T0-B1 was able to use the force because his power supply was the kyber crystal. The old jedi built him as an experiment, it worked, he "raised" and taught him the way. He was trying to get T0-B1 to look inside himself, both literally and metaphorically, to truly be a great jedi and one with the force. 🤯

    Pinocchio was always an influence on Japanimation stories about machines becoming human.
    Of course, Astroboy & Megaman are among the most beloved.

  • @anthonyyoutubefan7567

    Guys, I very much believe that TO-B1 was originally a Jedi Padawan to The Professor (who obviously was a strong Force-user, and, most likely, a Jedi Master specializing in The Sciences), and his real name was Toby. It's been confirmed that he's a humanoid droid, which leads me to believe part of his body (his brain and head, most likely) is composed of a real human being. I'm also suspecting that part of his make up may come from him being forged with a Kyber crystal, and maybe also Shard (semi-sentient) crystals, which, in The EU, lead to a disgraced Jedi (supposedly 50 years prior to the events of TPM) creating a group of sentient, Force-wielding robots called, The Iron Knights. I think this character somewhat falls in to this category, though, he's like Darth Vader...more machine than human. I want to see Toby appear in canon and Live Action, esp. during The Mandalorian Saga, and maybe even during The Bad Batch.

  • @DoremiFasolatido1979
    @DoremiFasolatido1979 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I enjoyed this episode, but only at about a 3 or 4 star level. What I liked most, was actually the detail that the professor has no arms. It's really amazing how few people seem to notice that. I presume he lost them in a duel against a Sith, and perhaps something about that battle rendered this planet lifeless, or did some other terrible cataclysm for which he felt he needed to atone for by spreading life to dead worlds...to "grow the Force" as it were.
    .
    It's a really nice detail that made me enjoy the episode more than I otherwise might've.

    I liked the episode fine enough. I thought it was a very cute very sweet bite size tale that also reminded me a lot of Astro Boy. Beyond it's endearing charm and whimsy and the beautiful animation to boot, I thought at the end of the day it was pretty average. Not bad, not great, not amazing either. Just good enough.

  • @DoremiFasolatido1979
    @DoremiFasolatido1979 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I did want to mention a couple of other things...
    .
    TO-B1 is, after all, a droid. It's highly probable that, like Grievous, he has far superior reflexes and coordination. Unlike Grievous, he didn't need to train to have them, because he's full-droid (and a crazy-advanced droid, at that).
    .
    I'd expect that his strength is on par with a fully adult human, if not slightly better, and his speed and precision are vastly superior...and that his overall mass is somewhat more than what his size would suggest.
    .
    Assuming he has ANY true connection to the Force at all (which it seems he genuinely does, somehow), it actually wouldn't be terribly surprising that he could face down a Sith (after a jetpack boost, anyway). It's still not super likely, but it's not impossible, or even especially improbable. After all, he'd have naturally faster and more precise movements than any Force-User, and if he had even a smidgen of the sort of precognitive reflexes of Jedi or Sith, then he'd easily be on par with even a master. Think of the NS-5s from "I, Robot". Imagine one of those things with a couple of lightsabers.
    .
    I think maybe this particular episode needed to be more like 20 or 30 minutes to really establish everything, though.

    I couldn't help but feel a lot of the shots really looked like the Lars homestead/garage in a stylized way, not to mention the Skyhopper, so I wonder if the implication is that they're in Luke's old home. I don't know that the professor is actually intended to be some alternate version of a future Luke (perhaps who lost a padawan already...?) but he also does repeat some things Yoda told him specifically. It's hard to pin down where in the timeline it's intended to be. I also liked the carvings in the homestead that echoed one of the classic ANH posters.

    I didn't like this one as much but it's simply because the theme and art style don't fit my taste at all... I did still try to enjoy it though and I can see people liking it, just not my thing.

    Hi Reel Rejects! I watched this video from Browntable entitled "What needs to happen in Spider-Man: No Way Home". It's worth it 👌🏻 Pretty much what I want it to be and for a lot of fans veteran or not out there.

    it was Pinocchio reinvented,lol. Droids being Jedi? seriously...would have been a zillion times better if we found out that "Toby" or Tobi/ TO-B1, was a real boy that had to be turned into 99% robot to save his life, not just a robot, ridiculous. Seriously ,Most of these episodes are Disney Trash 🗑. even grievous was human at one point and he's neither jedi or sith, just wielded light sabers

    T-OB1 = Tobi or Toby. I guess we should have seen that coming =/
    These short stories go nowhere. Star Wars Visions is too short and all over the place with very familiar faces and yet another Darth Vader like character*sigh* We just went through this with Kylo Ren! Star Wars Visions is shallow rehash of everything that came before it.
    I hate that these stories are so short. If they could have found a way to tie all the stories together and let each studio use their own styles to animate them, I think I would have found this much more interesting. After Clone Wars, Rebels and now Bad Batch Star Wars Visions leaves much to be desired. This is not for me, sadly.
