Nolan's plan makes more sense in the comics, lots of answers to questions everyone has. If you want, you should read season 1 in the comics and compare the differences.
Mark's inner and mental strength are what make him Invincible. Despite knowing he stood no chance. He kept trying. That's the kind of hero and champion we all need.

@@Mariothatguy it seems like experiencing stuff makes him immune to something of equal strength or weaker. I mean, in episode 2 one of the lasers shot him out of the sky. Then when shot wit it again later, it didnt really hurt him at all. Then there is him being shocked in episode 5 to the point where he energy is seen in his eyes and mouth, only to no longer be seen seconds later
And his children, grandchildren, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th great-grandchildren! In 500 years he could have hundreds of family members with the same level of immortality!
Let me just say that Mark isn't half-blooded, his father says due to the dominant genes of viltrumites he's basically a pure-blood. He isn't as strong as his dad because he's way younger, all that strength hasn't kicked in yet.
I don't like how you used Pure-blood here, because Mark isn't a pure-blood. I think the more fitting word would be full-blood, because while he is definitely more Viltrumite than human, the fact remains that he is still not fully viltrumite. Saying his DNA is completely viltrumite, or pure, is factually wrong.
Being part human, he also has adrenaline, which viltramites lack. In the comic, they covet earth as the perfect breeding planet to boost their numbers after *spoilers* The scourge virus that kills all but the last 50 viltramites. Mark, as a human, holds the potential to become even greater than the pure bloods.
After everything Nolan did. Lied to Mark about Viltrum, told Mark his mother was nothing more than a pet to him, killed people he should be protecting, said that he can always have another kid after Mark and beat Mark to a completely bloody pulp. After all of that, Mark still looks up at Nolan and calls him Dad. I love that moment so much.
@@HellGod67 Nolan was very clearly the one in denial. All those words but when the time came to killing Mark he couldn’t and abandoned his post. Something no Viltrumite had done before
I don't "love" it, but I certainly understand it and it breaks my heart. That's how fiercely kids love their parents, including the abusive or neglectful ones. I hope Nolan can be redeemed for Mark's sake.
"Let's see how you handle this." He didn't mean the punch. He meant everything AFTER the punch. He KNEW what that would do. What that would do to his son PSYCHOLOGICALLY. Damn.

They did the Mark and Nolan stuff so well. Like, it was what we expected but so much better at the same time. It was unpredictable in its predictability in that it got more raw than I think i could have expected. Seriously so hyped that we’re getting two more seasons!
Shout out to the outsourced animation team. Nolan's face as he struggles within himself not to kill his son was a nice bit of animation with great attention to detail.
The fact that THIS is what the man of steel fight would’ve been if it was a hard R is insane. This, along with MoS is the prime example of two indestructible beings fighting around breakable things.
@@michealharrison2219 Like the other person said, stronger Viltrumite than OmniMan should be coming, possibly catching up on what Omni Man is doing and, depending on how long the season goes into the story, you should get to see what Battle Beast can ACTUALLY do. Out of everything in the comic, I am most excited to see how everyone reacts to how much of a unstoppable force he is. In terms of raw strength, durability, endurance, and stamina only, Battle Beast is like Superman + Hulk + Doomsday.
I'm glad you guys finally accepting that this is going to be a masterpiece it comes from a source material that is widely accepted to be one of the best comic books ever written and a lot of the comic readers are saying this is being done better just for a little bit of perspective
As someone who started reading the comic book after watching the first episode and no completing the comic just today, i can safely say that this might turn out to be the best superhero tvshow or movie of all time.(If they stuck to the comics them)
@@captainmalcolmreynolds1526 I mean not really. Sure the order of things is a little different. In my opinion they did the last episode better then the comic version.
@@flashcraft7412 Yeah with the episodes being as long as they are 8 isnt bad. But the comic series is apparently really long so they could flesh out a couple more episode's a season. Maybe even tell some new side stories that aren't in the comics. Either way I'll be watching.
+Jayden Kleiberg if Viltrumites get stronger as they age, why did they bother fighting to the death on their planet? Why not just kill everyone based on age?
To be fair the people who beat his ass is omni man one of the strongest amongst the strongest race in the world and battle beast the strongest villain on earth plus mark is 17 omni man is atleast 500 years old
100% AGREE. Every episode had my full attention and characters are memorable even the side characters that don't get alot of screen time. However...I'm not a viewer who likes to nit pick everything. This is entertainment folks!
He was trying to get him to understand the Viiltrimite world view. In their lives, lesser lifeforms that are so fragile and die off so soon are akin to pets at best. Thats not unreasonable from their viewpoint. I dont think he is wrong in general, where he messed up is his cruelty. We dont slaughter our pets for no reason for the crime of being lesser animals. That was unnessary.
@@hopeprevails3213 it's why we can joke about batman breaking people and expecting superman saving everyone. Superman is a walking, flying, reporting, natural disaster. But when we see him end something because they had to fight and kill an uncalcuable amount of life, then there is an issue. A super being would kill of planet threatening beings. We do it when just a single life is threatened. Let alone a planet.
@@nicholasvredenburg6154 I also think because of what superman and batman has stood for historically and in the comics, it's really tough to see them in a different light where they kinda go against what we know to be sups and bats. That's my issue with batman v. Superman, it's was hard to get past that culture shock. That and a few bad choices they made plot wise and casting wise.
@@hopeprevails3213 Because Superman is Superman? And this is Invincible, completely different properties with differently known tones. Make sense people hated MoS since it’s different from the usual Superman.
The guy you didn't know, was the villian destroying the town with a fire dragon in episode 4. The one where Debbie tells omniman to help and he doesn't because he's on vacation with his wife. Cecil sends in the fighter jets to deal with him instead.
I'm watching reactions and it's fun as hell. Even as someone who read the comic they turned this part up to 11, there is a lot in the comics that doesn't get translated to the show so you can enjoy both the comics and the show. People think they know where this series is going and they have no idea. But keep in mind about what Allen said, Viltrumites don't ever leave their post, that makes Nolan the NICEST one. Oh shit.
This series is so good. Even heroes and people with power are powerless. The acting is fantastic. JK Simmons is scary as hell. This is the super version of the whiplash music teacher.
I have never in my life been so emotionally disturbed in an animated film as I was with the train scene. My jaw was dropped the whole time thinking "Someone make it stop!" lol The loss of life in that scene was horrific and it kind of messed me up. Never have I been impacted so emotionally by an animated cartoon. This is hands down the best superhero animated show ever made.
I think one of my favorite parts of this finale is how it re-contextualizes earlier scenes in the series. The scene in the first episode where mark talks about getting his powers, and Nolan is like "Are you sure?" and seemed sad. It's because he was hoping Mark didn't have them, so he wouldn't have to carry out his mission until after his family was gone. He was enjoying his life, but Mark having powers meant the Human population was compatible with the Viltrumites, so that means it escalated the takeover.
Just got home from grocery shopping, letting the cookies n cream ice cream melt JUST to watch y'all react to THIS JAW DROPPING, GUT-WRENCHING, EYE-POPPING, EDGE OF SEAT episode. . .R.I.P Friendly's
As an artist seeing the scene when the glass falls off the building is so insane so smooth and clean how the sun glares and the BOOM! I can’t imagine how difficult that was my favorite still in the episode for sure
The greatest single episode I've ever seen. I've never read the comics, not really into animated shows as an adult, and I had my hand over my mouth during the subway seen, and broke down loke the fatherless child I am when I heard the 500 years line. The realism this show brings with its animation. I haven't been this hooked since GOT, and haven't seen anything as impactful maybe ever. I had no expectations, and this show is my everything right now. Best soundtrack I've heard in decades.
Its crazy thinking that if Mark had said Sure dad lets do this, Earth might have been taken over right there and then. Instead, he stood up against him and Omni Man has his dilemma and leaves.... so he actually saved the planet. Also, notice how Cecil was trying to get Mark involved to confront his Dad since the start? And he was never panicked, never scared. I think he's been using that chip he took from Machine Head.
When he says pet I think he means more of like you love them and care for them but they simply aren’t gonna last forever. And someone who has lived as long as he did it makes sense. Image being 500 years old remembering your dog when you were a kid or young adult. If you were like me you loved them with all your heart but they aren’t gonna live as long as us.
When it comes to the whole "Do I read the source material or hold out for the adaptation?" discussion, I am firmly in the camp of: "Read it. You could get in a car accident tomorrow for all you know."
What I just realized is that it’s a good thing Mark went thru this. Like nolan said your a vultrimite in blood only. Your education begins now. Viltrumite are much tougher and meaner. Granted if more viltrumites came to earth they would consider mark weak and would kill him. So this toughens Mark up.
I was also looking at the fight as an R rated MOS. This show keeps it realer than any other superhero show or movie out there. And the attention to detail is amazing too- that really did appear to be Chicago during the fight. Invincible better get some awards love when the time comes because the voice acting, animation, and writing are all on point. We have seen the birth of a classic series and a landmark in both the superhero genre and animation that will be long remembered
This episode was insane. I was like they couldn’t top episode 7. They easily topped it. This episode had action, story development and It had me in my feels. And damn he called his wife a pet. And I hated that amber tried coming back. I’m team eve
I'm not sure if she's really trying to get back together, they are still friends somewhat afterall the breakup happened literally a couple hours before the fight.
Amber trying to wiggle her way back and claiming "well I figured we were both lied to" - huh? Someone protecting their identity is NOT lying. You're not his wife, he's not obligated to expose his secret, especially when you're always on the verge of dumping him. Second, in no way is your high school fling hiding their superhero status equivalent to a father hiding a dark secret that involves the genocide of an entire planet. Her screw is loose and I hope Mark wises up & sees through her B.S.
@@sirf4ce Yeah this is his first serious girlfriend, no shit he let her barge back in. Especially after the shit he just went through, dude needs comfort wherever he can get it.
I was very reluctant to watch this because it looked like just another superhero show that didnt offer much different and I have never been so happy to be wrong because this, after 1 season is my favourite show hand down. Absolute masterpiece to be enjoyed for generations to come.
Amazing episode and the entire season as a whole was just crazy!!! I really wish I had a counter to track all the Holy Sh!t's and What the F's I blurted out watching this season. Just the train scene alone accounted for at least five!!!!

HE EVEN GETS POWER BOOSTS WHEN HE'S ANGRY
It wasn't Marks powers that saved him, it was his humanity.
Man, Clark would have been fucking traumatized.
If only that movie was written well.
@@thefvguy5648 lol it was written fine to me
Pardon my language, but holy shit, that was a fucking crazy episode 🔥 I’m glad they’ve renewed the show for at least 2 more seasons.
The next season is gonna get so damn wild.
@@MrTigracho what to expect in the next season?
Micheal Harrison Possibly a stronger viltrumite showing up, omni-man might return.
The better renew it.. or me and Amazon are gonna have a talk!
Omni-Man "What will you have after 500 years?"
Invincible "You, Dad... I'd still have you."
Best moment of the episode.
So beautiful.... like REALLY messed me up lol.
Of the show!
Truly a father and son story
When Nolan was punching Mark and asking questions like "Why do you care?" he's simultaneously asking himself the same thing
I'm glad you guys finally accepting that this is going to be a masterpiece it comes from a source material that is widely accepted to be one of the best comic books ever written and a lot of the comic readers are saying this is being done better just for a little bit of perspective
Seriously! I am reading the comic book right now and DAMN I am loving damn near every page!

Anyways thanks for replying
Homelander is mentally disturbed, Omniman is sane but with an awful sense of ethics.
I will admit... I cried a bit. Felt so bad for Debbie and Mark. A phenomenal season entirely!!
As someone who started reading the comic book after watching the first episode and no completing the comic just today, i can safely say that this might turn out to be the best superhero tvshow or movie of all time.(If they stuck to the comics them)
Huh? I'm confused rephrase that sentence for me please
He's saying that if they stay true to the comics, this will be the greatest superhero show of all time. Which I personally agree with 100%.
@@hisholiness4537 well it doesent have to be 100% related to the comics otherwise it wouldn't be as fun for veterans
It’s already changed from the comics somewhat but I think the changed they have made are good changes.
@@captainmalcolmreynolds1526 I mean not really. Sure the order of things is a little different. In my opinion they did the last episode better then the comic version.
They're greenlit for season 2 and 3. And with a bigger budget from Amazon we're going to have crazier looking shit and probably longer seasons.
Hopefully the seasons stay the same length though. Everything else is great.
@@flashcraft7412 Yeah with the episodes being as long as they are 8 isnt bad. But the comic series is apparently really long so they could flesh out a couple more episode's a season. Maybe even tell some new side stories that aren't in the comics. Either way I'll be watching.
I just realize I basically asked for filler and no one would want that.
@@flashcraft7412 Nah, I think 10 episodes will be good, nothing crazy like 15 or something

JK Simmons voice acting in this episode is on point 👌
Right?! Hell I thought it was award-winning worthy
The flashback made me cry so much. I actually haven't been so invested in a show solely for its first season than for this one.
That plus mark saying that I would have you dad
"He's going to break his arm!"
No, no. He's going to break his SOUL.
I think Omni-man was trying to break Invincible's spirit...but he failed.
No. Nolan was fighting his own feelings
His spirit is....
Mark needs to train, train, aaaaand train. Speaking of train....got to be a top brutal scene I've ever seen. Christ.
Viltrumites get stronger as they age but they can also get stronger just by pushing their abilities, either by literally working out or by combat .

@@Citizen88020120820 Nolan hints to it when he is teaching mark to fly
“Man of steel had too much destruction and death”
Invincible: Hold my beer!
LOL Man of Steel After: .... what's destruction and death again?
It's interesting seeing the initial reaction to both. People hated MoS but love this.
@@hopeprevails3213
Because Superman is Superman?
And this is Invincible, completely different properties with differently known tones.
Make sense people hated MoS since it’s different from the usual Superman.
The guy you didn't know, was the villian destroying the town with a fire dragon in episode 4. The one where Debbie tells omniman to help and he doesn't because he's on vacation with his wife. Cecil sends in the fighter jets to deal with him instead.
I peeped Conquest while Nolan was going on his narcissistic rant and Battle Beast at the end. Shit bout to get real.
Yup i was excited when i saw conquest
Kregg and Thula were there too. I didn't know they were that much older than Nolan.

Conquest Viloent greatness incoming
@@alessandragonzales8190 nolan is quite old you know later in the comics he said he knew and fought with conquest and rest
What was jarring for me is that I literally live 20 miles south east of Chicago. So I was like…is this coming at me now
Damn you’re not going to want to take a train for a while
The scene with the Agent and Neo on the train track realized if Neo didn’t jump at the last second. Crazy.
That train scene was insane🤯
I'm watching reactions and it's fun as hell. Even as someone who read the comic they turned this part up to 11, there is a lot in the comics that doesn't get translated to the show so you can enjoy both the comics and the show. People think they know where this series is going and they have no idea.
But keep in mind about what Allen said, Viltrumites don't ever leave their post, that makes Nolan the NICEST one. Oh shit.
I like how this felt all season like a story between Mark and his father and its now just a piece of a massive intergalactic puzzle.
It’s funny you guys thought of mark and Spider-Man. That train scene was the dark opposite of Spider-Man saving everyone on the train in Spider-Man 2
😩😩😩This episode was a LEGIT MASTERPIECE. I was so close to tears in this episode! It was incredible. That father son fight was so sad!
Despite Omni-Man battering Mark to a pulp, Mark still landed the hardest blow in the fight, right at Nolan's heart.
Watching these kind of videos and reading the comments gives a sort of comfort knowing the rollercoaster of emotions we all experienced together.
The “fight” was HORRIFIC and heartbreaking to put it mildly 😭😭😭 to think all the events of eps 7 & 8 happened in one day
This series is so good. Even heroes and people with power are powerless.
The acting is fantastic. JK Simmons is scary as hell. This is the super version of the whiplash music teacher.
I have never in my life been so emotionally disturbed in an animated film as I was with the train scene. My jaw was dropped the whole time thinking "Someone make it stop!" lol
The loss of life in that scene was horrific and it kind of messed me up.
It proves that omni man still has a heart
Yeah but he killed a bunch of innocent people
@KAI PHAN if he really had a heart: “Mark... our people will come back, you better train your ass off.” Process to fly away
He might be loyal to viltrum but Mark is the one weakness he seems to have, he couldn’t take killing him

As an artist seeing the scene when the glass falls off the building is so insane so smooth and clean how the sun glares and the BOOM! I can’t imagine how difficult that was my favorite still in the episode for sure
Your shirts have a nice symbolism going on because this is a fight between spiderman and superman
Imagine punching you own child to death, while having flashbacks when they were young. No dad could’ve done that
Even I couldn't do that- Hitler
“I’ve got a feeling blood’s still the answer.” You were right Donald.
Too soon... too soon. 🥲
Omni-Man could be at your door today.
"i'll still have you"
"i'm with you till the end of the line"
