Damn, you're right! That said, Blue Danube is only 11 minutes long so I'd have to speed the video up a bit and in this one instance I wanted to leave it at 1x speed to convey the full enormity of this crater and the fall into it.
I watched this muted while playing a certain Oasis track. I do have some logistical questions though. Without trying to sound like an Elite noob: how do you roll a ship when it's on the surface (FA off, high G planet, etc)? How much hull damage was taken?
You plonk the ship down where you want it, turn flight assist off (so it sinks to the ground), go to external camera, input a bit of roll to get it started and then just let it go and switch to free cam controls to follow it. Gravity of the planet was about 0.12. You'll see/hear the ship's shields go down a few times, and then recharge in between bounces. At one point I heard the hull was down to 25% so I quickly switched back to ship control and put all pips in shields for a faster recharge (you can see the ship briefly move away from the camera when I do that). When I finally checked at the end after switching camera off I was down to 17% so quite close! 😬
Sadly no. I wish we had loose junk in the cockpit - would love to see pizza boxes, beer cans and (maybe a cat) flying around as I tumbled down the hill! 😂
17% if I remember correctly. I got pretty lucky in that each time a bounce took the shields out and did actual damage, the ship then had enough air time before the next bounce for the shields to recharge.
