    You are a very clever coach and this shows what a thoughtful player you are. Congratulations, man - great videos!

    Great video again, not sure if this can be answered but Im still too busy watching my own serves/shots and not getting ready for return ball, have you any ideas/ drills that would help with this? keep up the fantastic videos :-)

      Multiball is really good for this 'recovery' aspect because you can reduce the time between two shots. I find the best ones are sequences of 2, one short and one long. For example a flick and a fast topspin combo. Essentially you need to train your brain to automatically focus on the opponent as soon as the ball is off your racket. Multiball allows you to customize the speed of each drill so you can achieve that.

    So the pendulum topspin serve works great for you as a lefthander. If I try the same thing as a righthander I expose myself to a BH flick. What would you recommend for a righthander serving to a righty.

    • @MHTableTennis
      @MHTableTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. If I play lefty-lefty I'm a big fan of reverse pendulum short to the forehand and then getting ready for forehand 2/3.

      @@MHTableTennis So, this answer applies to a righthander serving to a righty? What do you mean with forehand 2/3?

    • @MHTableTennis
      @MHTableTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cilamiyes same application. Means be ready for an angle to the forehand which also includes the middle possibly as well. 2/3 of the table.

    Very interesting and well explained. Thanks! But it seems to me that your training partner was returning your serve too comfortable. Am I wrong?

      A little, she is short pips penhold so she is not as effected by spin, also she is very good in serve receive. But if I'm in good match condition (not like now haha) then this should be no problem, and a lot of the time I can also step around to play forehand. Keep in mind I'm also doing 10 very similar serves in a row so there's more repetition to get used to - not like 2 serves alternating in a match.

    Can you make a Video, How to Return serve with much Spin (side,side/back,backspin serve)??

    Perhaps it was obvious to other viewers, but I didn’t see/hear any explanation to HOW you add that kick and side-spin to your top-spin serve. You just did it but it’s way too fast to see what’s actually going on 😅

    • @MHTableTennis
      @MHTableTennis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have other videos, the purpose of this video is not to teach any specific serve it’s more to encourage thinking about strategy and set plays etc

  • @andrewcox5371

    Also would love to see you do a tomahawk serve in one of your videos

    • @MHTableTennis
      @MHTableTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I may be able to, I don't personally use a tomohawk so it'd be a little more challenging than some of the other serves to try and teach. Will keep it in mind and see! :)

    good tutiorial but I honestly think she was being decent and understood since the third serve that u r working on ur ackhand she just kept feeding you. A good player in general would always try to vary the return and she seems to be good

    • @MHTableTennis
      @MHTableTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use this serve with her all the time, she occasionally tries to play down the line but usually loses, she also flips over and uses long pips sometimes which is a pain in the butt 😅

    • @MHTableTennis
      @MHTableTennis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remember also in a match the situation is different, I'm not serving 10 balls in a row.

  • @sashbar
    @sashbar ปีที่แล้ว

    I watch 9th-10th minute and don't understand how does she return a backspin serve with such action. It's either the serve has almost no spin, or she's playing with an insensitive rubber. If I try to receive this casually it'll go into the net 10 out of 10.

    • @MHTableTennis
