Celest!! Oh my goodness....I can't believe the timing of this video...I have noticed my hair has been thinning the last few months but like you said, it's tough to talk about and admit. I thought to myself maybe it is because I do so many inversions on my mat and it was rubbing on the top of my mat. Thank you so much for this. I'm so grateful you made this video.... ❤️

Thanks for your informative vid Celest. I too have been losing my hair, discovered from a blood test that my iron levels are low. I'm on an iron supplement and hoping for not only the quantity but the quality of hair to return. It's been scary to see so much hair come out particularly every time I wash it. I'm amazed there is any hair still on my head!!

thank you soooooo much for sharing this with us. it is sooo relatable to my condition right now. I am having hairfall since 4 years already and the doctors say it's genetics. I have done whatever i could and was about give up. but then I found your video and it lifted my spirits up. Thank you sooo much!!!! I'm sooo grateful to you!😊😄
Can you make videos on Yoga exercises for growing hair. and can you also tell me if you had applied any sort of oils to the scalp?

    • @AlbaYogaAcademy
      @AlbaYogaAcademy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I don't use any oils and yoga will not make your hair grow necessarily. You need to support your health, and yes yoga can help with that! But you need much more to have healthy hair :)

Minoxidal must be used for life..once you start or you loose more..I have been on it for 30 years..I was one of the first women..and I am a health coach..my diet is incredible..I have a ton of hair at 65 that I did not have at 35..yes no gluten,I take enzymes and I am so happy you changed your diet...but I DO have a genetic hair loss..an allergy to testosterone on the scalp..so I will always be on minoxidal....forever!

Thanks for sharing this Celest, my hair loss is terrifying right now. Yet again you’ve given me hope. Did you also have Accupuncture treatment which I understand can redirect blood flow to the hair follicles. Would be great to know be hire I embark on another expensive activity. I’ll definitely check out the still test. Many thanks again. So glad you found out what the issue was…and directing us away from those nasty hair clinics! Despicable behaviour by them. ♥️♥️♥️

thank you so much for this! I also went to clinic that specialises in hair a week ago and same they told me it's genetic when I have no one in my family with this problem...they told I should do a genetic test which costs 500 euros which I thought was outrageous because it gives a % of chance you might have the illness and is really not a diagnosis and after they told me I should do laser and microneedling during 6 month all with a lovely cost of 5k. I believe my stress is triggering this and making this worse and this video just made me realise I'm right about this. thank you so much I needed to hear this today. thank you

My hair is SO thin. I have areas where you can see the scalp. And I REALLY notice it when I go back and watch my own youtube videos. HOPEFULLY no one else is staring at those bald spots.
I've thought about starting Monoxidil, but it sounds like it may have caused your hair to fall out worse when you stopped.
THanks for all these wonderful tips. I'm not sure I'm ready to see a doctor but I have wondered if I have some gluten problems.
I'm a new subscriber. I look forward to getting to know you. As you can tell, I can be long winded. Generally my videos are shorter though...I do a LOT of editing.

This was a very informative video! Hair loss is really terrifying and I feel as if my identity is being stripped away. After watching this, I might turn to functional medicine. Went to the dermatologist who immediately diagnosed my hair loss as genetic, and basically said it was Minoxidil or nothing.
How did you first find a functional medicine doctor? And are they expensive relative to doctors practising in more traditional medicine?

I done my blood test but he say is normal. I do have a thyroid a little up but my T3 and T4 are ok. He told me only if T4 was bad was put me on medicine. I really don't know what doctor should i see to help me. I done blodd tests in 2 weeks like crazy including vitamins. Im going crazy with looking clinics and i start take pills by my own research.

Three years ago, I started to have a rash all over my body, my hair started to fall out, and I was miserable and frustrated that no doctor could diagnose the cause. I tried many things and nothing worked. I searched on line and read about gluten intolerance, I decided to stop gluten, immediately my itchiness went away, and two weeks later my rash disappeared. I have been gluten free for a year, my rash hasn't come back, and my hair is much fuller. Thank you so much for sharing your story. May I ask what kind of pancreatic enzyme you are taking? I think I may need that too. I eat a lot of food, but I just can't gain weight. I always suspect that my body doesn't absorb nutrients. Any help will be appreciated.

I went to a doctor ! I went to a private dermatologist ( live in Canada and the public system is okay but not great ) I am not rich at all so I did this because I was afraid. My hair loss is so bad that my hairline is receiding, I am 24, shedding so very much hair. My dermatologist tested me for some thyroid/glucose/iron/ and other vitamins . I don't know what the results are yet but hoping something can explain this drastic hairloss. I am anemic and Of course stress can make anemia worsen thuse making hairloss worse but my dermatologist told me this was genetic and that any other deficiencies or anemia are only making a genetic thing worse... I also have terrible acne ... The amount of effects all of this has had on my self - esteem is truly unreal. I feel obsessed with looking at my hair. I always had beautiful hair and I am so sad I am losing it. I'm only 24, should not be having issues like this at my age. :( !!

I have hair loss too, like you they said genetics but no one in my family has hair loss.
I have a hypothyroid so I though it was bc of that, but my aunt got her entire thyroid removed and her hair is still the same as before. ??
I also tried hypnosis for my sugar craving (sweet tooth) and unbelievably it worked like magic. I don't even want any sugary products. I would have described myself as a sugar addict before hypnosis.
I am going to try a gluten free diet for one year and see, but I don't want to take the pancreatic enzymes. Question: Are you still on the pancreatic enzymes now that your gut is healed??

And just yesterday I had a light bulb thought that it might be gut related because I have gotten everything else checked out. Thank you for sharing your struggle. I have stressed about my thin fine hair for 3 years now and after a blood analysis and biopsy they said it was genetics. All I have done was become more mindful of how my body reacts to food and learned it cannot take diary, peanuts or alcohol very well. I'm curious what a stool analysis might reveal. Looking forward to the opportunity haha.

keep me posted. i wouldn't buy into the genetics diagnosis until you get a stool sample analysed. Keep me posted my friend x

Keep me posted darling x I know how scary it is. But i wouldn't buy the genetics diagnosis. they say that when they don't know whats wrong. They told me that and now my hair is back. Explain that!

Ha! Thanks Celest, I actually re-watched your video and I started laughing a bit because it still amused me how medical professionals think it's an external issue when, for a load of things, it begins internally.
So I think I know what might be the problem for me and what my next steps are. The initial problem about 4 years ago was poor diet and hormone imbalance (I was experimenting with different birth controls.) I was going through 12-14 hour work/school days and other life events that elevated my stress and anxiety for the past couple of years. I did go see a doctor after your comment 4 months ago. Dr. decided that because my anxiety levels were out of this world, the doctor decided to focus on that instead of the stool test for now because she believes that might be playing a large part.
I finally quit my stressful job (I knew I was going to quit my job soon and that's why I didn't take meds. I didn't do talking therapy because of worry of costs even with insurance) and now awaiting my visa to the UK to pursue a career I want to be doing (any day now!) I have been meditating, and I look forward to getting out of the American healthcare system and explore how I can benefit from a different medical system. I do want to still get a stool sample test done to see if there is anything extra I haven't figure out.
Diet wise, I became a vegetarian about 4 years ago and in the past 2 months, I have been eating a plant-based vegan with the exception of eggs and honey. I take apple cider vinegar with meals that don't feel easy or that I suspect had milk product in it. I have also taken some hair vitamins, sea kelp omega vitamins, and some hemp protein. They have boosted my mood and energy which is great.
I have also done genetic testing with 23andme and there are different resources that show how you can do more with the genetic data. I used it to get ancestry (fun) and explored a little bit more on anything gut related with other open source tools. Looks like I'm fine genetically and I talked to my mother who was just told she is gluten intolerant (not celiac.) She and I have similarly textured hair and we decided to cut out gluten together to see what possibilities we might have because it's definitely not something genetic. I feel absolutely empowered by the message of your video and I am haven't been happier with the life changes I have committed myself to.
Sorry, my comment is so long but I wanted to share incase it's helpful to anyone else. Thanks!

Being deficient in nutrients can cause an imbalance of hormones in your body... since nutrition is how our body usually manufactures hormones. Low or high hormones can make your hair thinner and more likely to fall out before it should. If you're not getting the right kind of nutrients... your body's hormones won't remain balanced. You need the right balance of hormones to keep your hair growing, strong, full, and healthy. you guys should try this *HairLoss.4HealthCare. Info* (remove space and open the site) program that really helps me to grow my hair back

Hi Celest! I am facing a very very similar situation like you. I went to the doctors regarding my hair loss and that they said it was genetic as well. My family had absolutely no history of hair loss. Since you were diagnosed with gluten sensitivity, did you had any symptoms of the gluten sensitivity such as abdominal pain or chronic diarrhea etc? Thank you so much and your video is very helpful :)

I enjoyed your video but I'm not sure if the changes to your diet contributed to your hair growing back...or if your hair just grew back. It's very hard to know anything for certain when it comes to hair. I lost about half my hair about 30 years ago and although some grew back it all did not. I didn't have any luck with Rogaine and yes many women in my family had hair loss when they reached middle age. I'm still waiting for science to find the answer and the cure.
