The Boss XT-2 seems to be a rather interesting pedal. I think you can also hear it in the verses of "The Great Apes" which feature distorted chords shifting into feedback.

Man, your sustain is so crazy, it's actually equal to John's studio sustain. I can't get it through my amp simulators and audio interface, and it leaves me so frustrated lol
It’s probably because of the sixteen 12” speakers that are blasting through the room! My problem is controlling the feedback because I’m very close to the speakers. I’d love to have a bigger space where I could stand a few extra feet away from the speaker cabs.

@@timons7446 There are a few videos focusing on studio gear and 2 or 3 agreed on that pedal. I am not a 100% sure but it can be. At the same time he used a wine red pedal at the Kimmel show which was an MXR Super Badass Variac Fuzz

someone has an idea how john made his guitar in the solo to be this high and screamy? It almost sounds like a flute , but no one seems to recreate that kind of sound. I think just with bending it wont work out, he must have done something else to it.

It’s an American Original 60’s Stratocaster so those are Pure Vintage ‘65 pickups!

It’s feedback. The frequency of the feedback depends on the shape and the size of the room where the amps were setup.
