    The volume jump on the Ibanez wh10v3 is ridiculous. I know you can get the mod or you need the right compression on your amp. But we are talking about a pedals made my Ibanez/ Japan. Japanese people are some of the most technology advanced people. Why can they not figure it out and have it stock. I have 100 white Marshall Jubilee and still have the problem. I fix it by cutting on my MRX DynaComp and it fixs the problem. But truthfully they should’ve done fix the problem it’s not like it’s a new thing. They’ve been making these pedals for 40 years

      Let me guess, you are playing the Jubilee clean as a whistle? Trick for the Wh10 into the Silver is it needs the compression of the preamp to be tamed. Try it again with the rhythm clip out and a bit of grit and voilà, happy days. No more volume jump. Everyone thinks John ran his Jubliee clean, it's not. He actually runs it cranked and the Major is the clean sound, with his old setup anyway.

      Also you have to remember Ibanez aren't really known for their pedals, and 80's had a lot of pedals that make a good door stop. If it wasn't for John no one would even be talking about it. He just found a way to make it work for his sound. I just got the Tom Morello Cry Baby which has a similar brightness when distorted so I might try it with some JF stuff and see if it can compete. The WH10 is definitely it's own beast though

    Great Frusciante stuff you‘re putting out.
    What made you go for the Showman instead of the Jubilee

    • @MistaMahcos

      Thanks glad you like it! I read somewhere Rick Rubin mentions a Fender Showman during an interview regarding the By The Way album production.
      I do own a Jubilee maybe I should do a shoot out between the two.

    Wills wah sounds great!
    Is there a delay pedal or just the reverb & wah?
    P.S. Awesome video as always ! Thanks ;D

      @MistaMahcos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! His does sound nice right! I should do a big wah shoot out later!
      The only pedals that I used were the wah into the ce-1 into the reverb. No delay.

    Hello Marcos, nice to see your video again. I have a question about the WH-10. I have a jubilee, ce1, well my clean tone is perfect. But i have a problem with my WH10 (not the volume boost) but when i use the pedal on full "up" position like for by the way on the clean tone, i have WAY too much treble. When I played live with my band, even the sound engineer went mad when i Turned on the wah for the clean tone. I dont feel that problem that much when i use the pedal for solos.
    What do you think i have to do with this excess of treble?

    • @MistaMahcos
      @MistaMahcos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey I had sort of a similar problem with one of my vintage wh10s. I felt that one also had a lot of treble then the others. I figured was the pot inside might had been set to far up with the locking screw.
      So I opened it up and loosed the screw that holds the pot to the sweep mechanism so that I can turn the pot back a little bit and retighten the screw so that is doesn’t max out like it did before.
      Then I thought I turned it back to much so then I just kept adjusting the pot until I found a good middle ground

      @@MistaMahcos thank you for your answer, I will see what I can do then. I considerate buying the wh10 v3 modded from Wilson effect, as John is using this one it seems a good idea if I can’t fix my problem

      Did you ever used original EHX Holy Grail? you would hear what it does to engaged wh10.

  • @LuisRFeliu
    @LuisRFeliu ปีที่แล้ว

    during the shakashakashakashakashakashaka verse bit, is John using the Holy Grail spring mode or is it engaging the wh10 only?

    • @MistaMahcos
      @MistaMahcos  ปีที่แล้ว

      He uses the reverb tank and the wh10 for that section. But you can also use the string mode of the holy grail to get that kind of sound

    Hi bro, if you have problems with volume jumps that wh10 has, just watch dave simpsons video about it, he says that ibanez wants a dirty-clean tone. and btw if you can do more californication era songs, i can see that your fav is BTW, but it would be great if you did some of cali era songs. peace

    • @MistaMahcos
      @MistaMahcos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I’ve seen all of Dave’s videos on johns tone! I do plan on making tone videos on most of the albums for now, I’m just working hard to get some gear that I need that would help with those. I’ve only been doing BTW songs because it’s a good middle ground for johns tone I can move backwards or forwards with most of the gear from that era.
      I was in the process of doing Otherside for the next video, but my warm audio preamp stopped working so I have to send it to WA to get it fixed!
