First… Happy New Year! Second... Medord VW inventory shows just the one SEL Premium R-line trim (I suppose the one you reviewed here.) That's one more than the several other dealers I've checked out; yours is the first dealer I've checked online that actually had one of those in stock.) Question: Is that trim just not going out to all regions, or is that trim just something dealers don't want _too_ many of on their lots? I'd think a $40K loaded Tiguan should sell reasonably well.
Good review! When will this get the 230 HP engine & cooled seats? The gimped engine is the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on getting one in this exact same spec...😏
I have just bought an r line I love how it drives but some controls I find very confusing like in the centre of the clocks is there anything other than the compass and map you can have?? Also I'm not sure what the kane assist is for I see it lit up in orange but what is it actually for appreciate any help tia
Elaine Williams by clocks, do you mean the two main gauges? If so, yes you can customize the info display in the cluster. Tap the CAR button on the head unit. Swipe through the CAR menu until you see the customization for the digital cluster. You should see two dials, with selectable configurations in between them... auto, etc. If you swipe the two dials to info displays that you prefer, this should be reflected in your cluster. Once you’ve found the combination that you like, tap and hold one of the three views for 2-3 seconds, and it should accept the change in the cluster.

Is there ambient lighting on the Tiguan? I see the European models have it but don’t see it on the North American version.

It’s more than adequate in the city, but it does feel sluggish passing on the highway.
Our Canadian 2020 SEL R Line doesn't have the car net buttons on the overhead console.

You have sel premium? I'm assuming
When Lane assist is activated you should feel a tug on the steering wheel prompting you to correct steering
