We did 17k kms ( in just 7 months)in our brand new 2 liter diesel high-line( not R line) Tiguan with full leather seats. Awesome car no words to say, we drive in Germany and the car is very stable in autobahn till 190 kmph. ( My advice: raised seating and full leather seats makes your long drives 10X comfortable, extra 2.5k spent on full leather is 10K worth, avoid R line)
The Skoda Yeti is basically a VW Tiguan underneath the body. I have one from 7 years ago and when looking at the interior of the same year Tiguan they are identical. The Tiguan is a great vehicle and possibly only eclipsed by a Yeti. Of course they stopped making the Yeti so I would probably get a used Tiguan next time. Get one like mine though with the full Monty package with DSG and four wheel drive. Also on the Yeti the rear seats are individually removable. This turns it into a van if you want massive space.

Compared to our CX5 the Tiguan is so cheaply made and really poor quality, he was totally shocked when he hopped in my car at how much car you get for the money and the fact I only had a wait of 2 months. If he had looked at one he said he would have ordered one instead of his Tiguan.
fyi we replaced a golf mk7 with our new CX5. The golf was a 2013 and it served us very well, although it did have its issues, it was nice to drive and built very well but it seems VW have gone massively downhill.
Brexit, lack of raw material and staffing cutbacks are the reason for the down turn in production.
VAG’s time at the top has finally come to an end.
Always remember “every dog has its day”
"you have some deep pockets here in the back...and once again, they "R-line'd" " 😁😁😁😁
Who else noticed the Golf 7.5 on the display at 14:45 when talking about the acc? 😂
Woah.. you are a genius to find that
Yes it’s a Proto type for now it will be like that
Yesss! Was searching for this comment!! ahahah
12:51 look the old Tiguan
*very old
@@Sansen01 😂😂😂😂😂😂
love my tiguan , reliable and spacious for family.
The intros are far too long and wordy! No talking on the logo screen. Just get it over with and into the video. You dont need two plugs!
Yeah, I miss the old days when they didn't do that.
Just install the TH-cam Vanced - no ads, you can listen to music with screen turned off and you can skip intros, end credits, sponsorblocks etc. Basically a free YT Premium, but better
@@s.k.9475 they mean within the video, not extra ads
@@blockhead7862 I know, but Vanced has an option to skip those annoying intros, endcredits, giveaways, sponsor segments etc. Just turn on the "Sponsorblock" option in Settings. You can choose if you want to skip them automatically or by tapping "skip" button when for example sponsor segment appears. Let me tell you - as soon as i hear something like "sponsored by nord vpn".. BANG! Skip segment haha. Chears!
You know if your time was so important you wouldn't be here mate
Matt, the cover DOES FIT underneath the trunk “floor”. You got to just flip it upside down.
Now can you do a Tuareg R review, that would be a cool one to see :D
11.05 Nice to see it’s got a hydraulic strut
14:13 I guess the software devs were too lazy to change the image from a golf to a Tiguan 😂
Thanks this video is very useful, ours is arriving on January 7th, R-Line all Options, it's nice to see the car before it arrives IRL
13:10, nice a new car with a singular reverse light that's working
why do you need more? it’s bright enough in the night
on the other side is the rear fog lamp
It’s a bright LED light so you don’t need more than one
@@dr-ok3sn and in addition you can turn on the hazard lights
I think that one of the reversing lights dont work on 13:15 , but otherwise great rewiew as always👍
nope, on the other side is the rear fog lamp
@@dr-ok3sn twin reversing lights on the Tiguan. Same as previous version. See 0.59
Mat: "Reviews"
Everyone: "Ahh shi here we go again"
what? You think they not reviews?
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line 2019 Review
th-cam.com/video/mmMIBTcD0CI/w-d-xo.html
All those "swipe" functions mean you cannot use them while driving as they require closer attention. You can stop turning a knob and the "swipe" will stop but on a touch screen it tends to keep going.
I come here for Mat Watson❤
Good on you
My wife as a 2018 R-line arms the back trunk cover is a roll up style and it does fit under the false floor
12:05 I've said this before and I'll say it again....
Get better camera equipment or use Matt's phone.
But other than that good review
I have the new t-roc and i prefer using the touch sensitive buttons on the wheel because you can use it like normal physical buttons but it looks better lol, not sure why so many reviews complain, having multiple options to touch/slide or press the button normally is not a big deal
5:50 they also made this seats in a hurry , they are all crooked
It’s a Proto type
@@hiiiofficial8306 it is not , you can buy it already
1:37 look at the very visible, non-protected wiring for the parking sensor! That's terrible.
6:20 2020 Tiguan rewiev from 4 years ago?
I'm not too sure the exposed wires at 1:38 mean the camera fitted will stand the test of time
Mat: be careful which spec you pick for the Tiguan to make it look smart
Also Mat: buys a green RS6
a colour only a mother could love...and apparently he chose it cos he liked it.
Its too late now we already got the Tiguan allspace and my mum hates the glb
Ordered an 1.5 R Line through carwow based on this review and a test drive. Super easy with a nice discount.
Really like this. Great family car. Can't wait till this available on the VW configurator 👍🏻
Had several Volkswagen products in the 70’s and 80’s but everyone had electrical problems which took several trips to the dealer to identify so after those experiences have never bought a German car since. Had many Japanese and Korean autos since then and never had I had electrical issues
I’ve got a new Volkswagen and it’s brilliant will never ever have Another car even though I am interested at looking at cars
My mother Love this car. 2.0 litre turbo 320hp
Have gone from Tiguan se nav 2.0 Diesel to Elegance 1.5 tsi.
Petrol is more refined but boy it likes a drink.
Forget 40.6 mpg.
Extra urban it’s 22 to 26 mpg.
A rd with 4 in car at 50-60 mph - 31-33 mpg
Motorway at 70 mph 36 to 38 mpg.
If you drive mostly extra urban RAV4 will do 45mpg -the car I should have gone for.
15:25 why is there a golf
Cost cutting, they do that for every model
VW is getting really lazy recently
No money to put an actual tiguan... Pathetic on a car at the top trim that costs so much...
Well I got the Golf 8 and my virtual cockpit is 100% different. I think they just used an old system for this facelift. Also Dieselgate hit them hard. Hopefully they recover quickly, because they need to re establish themselves.
Vw are cost cutting too much, I know they are in trouble but I might Aswell buy a Vauxhall
10:20 very very modern, I have that on my 2007 Passat, that's like from another era

"Be free load cover be freee" 😂😂😂😂
Woah... that's a unique comment
funny how most car reviewers would show off the low starting price of some cars yet never recommend the entry model
In Poland we say:
"reheating the cutlet" 🤣🤣🤣
Hello to Poland from India mate
The carwow editors dont get enough credit !!!
VW has really improved the Tiguan over the years. A very nice smaller SUV and a good price point.
”Smaller SUV” Oh, last time i checked it was bigger than the avarage?
Might be an OK car but what an awful model name!
Full rear red reflector strip ,just like Skoda vRS models.Easy to see at night by following vehicles!
What mat missed: Tiguan is available with a 360° camera , heated REAR seats and a heater with remote , theres also full dynamic headlights and taillights , the ones shown are not the IQ light system. Theres also a further option for the adaptive dampers , you can put them even more sporty in individual and even more comfy
He mentioned the back up camera and its low resolution.
