Hey, it's been a while since I played Pyria, so I can't say that I'm 100% sure, but I'm around 95% sure that I had an upgrade rune on every creature I sent into that battle......Ygg is just one tough, hard hitting boss, and I don't really think it's possible to take him on without any losses if you're not using overpowered creatures or weapons from other mods.
