I am 70 and just purchased this mini 3 and love it, had the mini 2 se but decided I wanted the controller with the built in screen.
Hello…I’m going to purchase my first drone. My two choices are either DJI mini 3 or mini 3 Pro (which will be for my 8 year old son for Christmas). I wasn’t sure which features I really wanted our drone to have. This video definitely helped me figure it out! I feel my best option is to get the Pro because I will also be able to use the tracking feature when my family and I go on our hikes. Thanks for all the great info!👍
I have the mini 2 and it’s my first drone and getting acclimated to it. Learning where I can fly it to practice is very beneficial.

Thanks for the professional comparison review Matt, it was most helpful. It's amazing the amount of technology that's packed into these sub 250g drones. Personally I think the active track & point of interest are great & invaluable features. Having been a drone pilot for 2 years, I can vouch for the fact it requires a good deal of practice to pull off these shots manually. At the end of the day, we all want to capture great and dynamic footage and these features will afford this with great ease. It all comes down to how you plan to use it, as you have mentioned. Bought the dji mini 3 with rc controller as my first drone,there's so much information to take in for a first timer hopefully by watching the rest your videos it will make it a lot easier.

I just ordered the mini 3 yesterday. Your video helped to build my confidence in the choice I made. This will never my first flying experience so am looking into the “ insurance” coverage. Thanks for abbreviating my drone learning curve, Mattheww! Received the gift of a Mini 2 this summer. Although already interested in waypoints and longer flight time, I'll likely wait to see what the Mini 4 offers before considering a change. This "budget" "beginner" drone is one of the most reliable drones I have. Best Buys fly more package comes with pro rc and three batteries. Truly the best bang for your buck.

4k30 , no obstacle avoidance - essentially a mini2 in a new shell iso 3200 vs 4k60 6400 iso
nowhere near as good as the mini 3 pro

Hey Matthew, I think you missed my comment. I had a quick question.
You mentioned in this video that each pixel is subdivided into 4 sections (the same principle that allows shooting 48mp photos on the Mini 3 Pro) and that this was beneficial for low light. So with the Mini 3 PRO, in low light is it better to shoot in 12mp or the quasi-48mp?

I have wanted to get into the professional drone game for years, and I finally took the leap. I can't wait to start the journey and learn how to use my new mini 3 to its full potential...
I was so worried about not having the pro with the sensors, but now that I have the mini 3, I am very happy and satisfied.

I had just ordered the Mini 3 Pro and was honestly regretting it after seeing the $300 price difference for the Mini 3, thinking the only difference was the lack of obstacle sensors (which were never in the most important place to begin with - the sides). But after seeing this full breakdown I feel good about my purchase.

There is a lot to consider when buying a real drone not the quad 4 supper dupper do everything drone from the US and Canadian military . Now avaible from dudd that retired . Very slick and well edited video, thanks! As a complete newbie to drones should i go for a DJI or are there alternatives at the same price with more proximity sensors? I would probably use it to film open spaces and historic sites so maybe i dont need so many obstacle sensors? But its a lot of money to lose if that one day you decide to go near some trees or under a bridge and smash your drone! Also how high up can these drones fly from ground level? Cheers
I just bought the mini 3 fly more pack during their current sale for $658. Just opened it yesterday and took it out. The camera was great! It’s our first drone it seems awesome so far, but it will be much better once we learn the control. I did not get the rc controller but would consider in the future if flying is for me.
