    Quick, Simple and to the point. This is what you want sometimes in a game tutorial video. Great Job. Can you do Hanabi soon.

    very good point about the ambassador's ability, i play for about a week and never thought about it this way. so, even when you have very strong cards, you can (try to) change, just to see another 2 cards from the deck, even if you don't swap them.

    I am confused about something for the ambassador. When somebody calls ambassador and picks 2 cards from the deck, can they switch one card (and return the other cards) or can they switch both cards?

    Learn how to play Coup quickly in just 100 words:
    Players start with two action influencer cards in hand and two coins.
    Win by eliminating all opponents’ influencers.
    On your turn, either take 1 income coin, take 2 foreign aid coins (can be blocked by any opponent’s Duke card), neutralize opponent’s card with 7 coins, take 3 with your Duke, eliminate a card with Assassin and 3 coins (blocked by any Contessa), exchange Ambassador to select 1 of 2 drawn cards, steal 2 with Captain (blocked by Captain or Ambassador).
    Turn one card up when challenged for action or block without card, or making failed challenges. Replace all challenged cards.

    There is something I need to clarify: Do coins need to be visible at all times of each player. I think It needs to be shown, But there is a player that is convinced that because its a bluffing game, you can hide your coins. I am convinced that this is not the case.

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All coins must remain visible, according to the rule book (first page).
      The bluffing is about what you can do with the coins, not about how many you have.

    If I have a contessa (or pretend to have), and another player is assassinated, can I block the assassin even if I am not the target? Same goes, can I block stealing even if I am not the target?

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope, in both of these cases you must be the target in order to block them.

    If I try and do Foreign Aid but am blocked and I believe they have a Duke, does my turn end immediately or can I still try something else?

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, your turn ends if they block your Foreign Aid.

    So you cannot bluff tax, right? I think this was something we did wrong the first time I played this. You have to actually have an ambassador to tax?

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can pretend to have Duke and use tax. Anyone else can try to call your bluff.

    I have a couple of questions. First, can you back out of assassinating someone ? if so do you need to pay 3 coins.
    Second, if you assassinate someone and they call you out do they lose 1 influence for guessing wrong and 1 influence for my assassination aka making them lose the game in 1 turn ?
    Third, does the Count block foreign aid from all players ?

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      1) you cannot back out, so those 3 coins are lost
      2) yup, that's the only way to lose the game in just one turn.
      3) if you have the duke, you can block anyone from taking foreign aid.

    • @Paniio123
      @Paniio123 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot for the quick answer. :) I actually have a couple more questions if its not a problem.
      First, if I start the action to assassinate but don't have the assassin and I'm called out I lose 1 influence but do I get the coins back ?
      Second, in a scenario where lets say player 1 wants to steal from player 2 but player 3 objects stating that p1 doesn't have the captain. If the p1 has the captain p3 loses 1 influence but then p2 says I block your steal action and p1 calls him out. Turns out both p1 and p2 have the correct cards e.g. p1 has the captain and p2 has the ambassador do both of them shuffle back those cards and get new ones or does p1 lose his captain ? Again thanks in advance.

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1) you do not get the coins back
      2) player 3 cannot object, as player 3 is not part of the stealing that is taking place

    • @GamesExplained
      @GamesExplained  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm a little murkier on point 2, but it seems to work well playing the way I've described.

    • @Paniio123
      @Paniio123 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me and my friends played the game tonight with the rules you stated and we could back out but had to pay. Thing is we saw a lot of people online playing with the rule-set where everyone is able to object not just the 2 people involved, so we're kinda confused on how to play the game from now on as the official rules are a bit vague.
