I get his point about sweeteners however he misses the point that anything sweet makes most people crave sweets. My feeling is for some people it’s best to stay away from all sweeteners. Once you cut it out you can use it very sparingly. I’ve tried them all. I’m back to basic organic sugar in very small amounts.
    I don’t drink my calories.

I agree. Whilst it is healthier to utilise the sweeteners versus ingesting the large amounts of sugar it’s still satisfying the craving from sugar so it’s healthier than sugar. It’s also most likely dosage dependent. How much sugar and how much sweetener? And that differs for individuals. So the nicotine patch is healthier than smoking the cigarette. Also he mentions the weight loss as a net positive benefit. But what other metabolic pathways were being monitored. We have to be careful as to which things are monitored and which things are not and the time frame.

The important point still is to put healthy things in the diet and limit the garbage. He only drinks one sweeten drink a day, not 6 drinks a day. Dosage matters.

I get his point about not using absolutist statements but he makes absolutist statements all the time about keto and carnivore being bad and how you need your veggies.
