All The Hidden Book Clues Reveal The Rightful Heir For The Throne! A Song of Ice and Fire (Theory)

  • Welcome back for another Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire Theory video. Today I will be showing you all the hidden book clues that reveal who is next in line for the Iron Throne. As you all know, Daenerys Targaryen won the Iron Throne after defeating Cersei Lannister and her forces, however, she did not have the throne for very long. After Jon and Dany's final scene, Drogon melted the Iron Throne with his dragon flame. Afterwards, Bran Stark became the King of the Seven Kingdoms in Westeros. The books very well could end this same way... but that doesn't mean Bran Stark is next in line for the Iron Throne. I believe the rightful heir is foreshadowed throughout all 5 books in A Song of Ice and Fire. Now you will see just how many clues there are. Let me know what you think down below. Thanks for watching the video!

      Yeah N+A=J has its logic. But R+L=J will be a better story. And why would GRRM drop so many R+L=J clues if it is not the case ? Also, you have to remember, before any of these theories were made, N+A=J was the obvious one and R+L=J was the hidden one.

    I think it would be the best, if bran becomes the king first, but gets corrupted by his abilities slowly, till he is not a bit human anymore.
    Not just non human, but empathy and the sense of what's the right decision or what's the right thing to do for the best of all the people.
    Corruption till he becomes as cold as a whitewalker, just with logic and a till there,, without the instinct or will to kill.
    One day he's suddenly gone, on his way to find himself or whatever he has become and to realize, what he has to do next and what will make his existence important.
    After that, his oldest sister would keep the throne for him, so that no one will see, that the king is really gone and not just overloaded with work.
    Years will go by without bran ever showing up again. Just strange story's that could mean him, nothing more.
    Suddenly more and more had things will start to happen in the north, the real north. Again there will be animals running away and humans looking for safety.
    There will be a new army to fight and the kingdom needs a real king on the battlefield. That's the part where Jhon comes into play.
    He will fight a few battles, will proof himself in front of all the soldiers.
    More and more they will shout for him to become the king of the north and later, his true name will become revealed and so his unintentional journey to the throne will find its end.
    Because of the overwhelmingly dangerous enemy coming from the deep north, he will left his place at the wall behind, to get his crown and take over his command at the wall again, but this time, he's commanding all forces of the 7 kingdoms against the new, uprising enemy.
    After that, it would be the best to make bran something like the new nightking, but with more human abilities left behind.
    This would bring a path to solve the secret around the nightwalkers and the King.
    Maybe John will be able to communicate with bran through beans ability to skinshift and his own ability to do the same.
    Maybe they meet each other at the battlefield and bran won't be able to kill John. Bit by bit the story will reveal all the secrets and answer every wuestion till the big showdown is coming, where bran has to decide if he follows his path of war or turns around with his army, back from wherever they came from.
    In the end this would. Answer the question why the nightking did what he did and where his motives are coming from. Perfect end for such a long story!

    Yes, I’ve ALWAYS believed Tyrion is a Targaryen. Tywin, I think knew it too. Not only did his wife die in labor with Tyrion, but Tywin suspected it wasn’t his and hated him all the more when he realized he was a dwarf. Not to mention that the dragons presented themselves to Tyrion when in the dungeon. He released their chains. No one can touch a dragon unless you are a Targaryen or one near by. There is a reason there were 3 dragons. Tyrion should have been a rider! And again……YES……..JON SNOW IS THE TRUE HEIR TO THE IRON THRONE.

    • @Thurgor_Supreme
      @Thurgor_Supreme ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a long shot, but I have a theory that Tyrion is riding Rhaegal when it gets shot out of the sky. Tyrion falls and crashes into the ground, dying on impact. Cersei gets a sick pleasure out of this when she hears about it and thinks the Maggy the Frog prophecy is finally broken. However, in her death throes when Jamie is hatefully choking her to death, she realizes that he could've also been the Valonqar.

    I am rereading the books again. In one of Jon’s chapters, he is sleeping after fighting on the wall with a hurt leg. He is given dream wine and falls asleep right away. He walks in the tombs at Winterfell and the statues are telling him he does not belong here BUT he does see a wolf, not Ghost, a gray wolf that juts so happens to be by his mothers tomb. Ideas for a writer are constantly changing as you're developing the story. The ending sometimes can be different from the one you originally had when you first started. So he's painted himself in a corner and committed to that shitty ending.

      @@rupertgarcia Agreed. His take will definitely be a lot more detailed and make sense but I don't think he can back out of the major plot lines that the show revealed (maybe he can *shrug*) like Daenerys going psycho and Bran becoming king. Those look like early ideas he was tossing around in his head at the time David and Dan were quizzing him about how it ends. This's why it sucks when an adaption bypasses the source material - they wind up using an author's rough ideas. The Harry Potter movies almost had this problem because the young cast was growing up fast and JK Rowlings hadn't released the final books at the time. But I remember how crazy fast she wrote them and got them published....probably why I feel the quality of those last couple of books suffered a little imho.

    Martin said repeatedly in interviews the reason he let D&D do the show was because he asked them flat out out who Jon’s mother was, and they’d guessed it. So… it’s clearly canon that Jon will be a Targaryen in the books as well.

      I always took that interview to mean that D&D told him who they thought Jon's parents were, and it wasn't who he has planned for the book. So he let them proceed with the show because it wouldn't take away from the reveal that is going to happen in the books for the readers.

    I agree with a good amount of the foreshadowing and allusions you're pointing out here, but I've always thought that the cat in the story is Balerion, Princess Rhaenys's cat. And the story hints that the cat - who would now be over 15 years old - causes havoc around the castle because he knows these usurpers are responsible for the death of his Person - Tywin especially.

I didn’t have HBO so I didn’t even think much about watching it. That is, not until my mother had discovered it and began watching it and told me about it. I instantly became a huge fan. I became curious about the books bc anytime a movie or show is created from a book or book series, there are going to be some differences. I was stunned when I found out about just exactly how much different the tv show is from the books! It isn’t just little differences of minor details, D & D basically created a completely different story, so many events and storylines in the show are either not in the books or the storylines are happening to different characters. D & D had the opportunity to really do the book series justice by lengthening each season and extending the show series by several more seasons and the show would have stayed the biggest HBO hit series. And for the twins, they actually have a good claim for the throne, as Aerys uninherited Rhaegar and made Vyseris his heir, but said nothing about Daenerys (she may actually not be his daughter), making Jaime and Cersei the oldest offspring, Daenarys the aleged trueborn daughter, Jon the heir to Rhaegar's line, or Faegon if he weren't a Blackfyre. That makes the waters murky and prepare the Targaryens for a civil war.

He thought Jaime would have been the golden child, but he gave up wedding someone and bearing children to be a kingsguard. To me its poetic justice that all three of his kids 'failed' him in some way because he valued superficial things concerning the legacy of his family name over the love of his children.

When Rhaegar fell on the trident Aerys decided to make Viserys his heir while Rhaegar's son Aegon and Rhaeneys were still alive, Aerys basically ignored Rhaegar's line of succession. Also Rhaella crowned Viserys on Dragonstone when she got word that Aerys was dead. Viserys didn't have any children so that made Daenerys his heir. Wow, I didn't see all those connections. I just considered Lyanna begging Ned to promise something as she lay dying in a "bed of blood" with Ned's refusal to have any gossip about Jon's real mother. There aren't many illnesses that would result in death by hemorrhage, but bleeding to death from childbirth is a common cause of death for women in Westeros. babies are a known hazard of sex, and there's no dispute that Lyanna and Rhaegar were sexually intimate; the only question was whether it was by rape or with full consent. You'd think that Robert should have realized that Lyanna being pregnant by Rhaegar when he "rescued" her was a distinct possibility, but Robert seems to have been unusually good at refusing to see what he didn't wish to see.
    Plus, there's all the emphasis on Ned promising her something while she lay dying. Yes, it could have been to bring her body back to Winterfell, but that doesn't seem to have happened, or Ned would have said "It was what she wanted" during the crypt scene with Robert rather than "She was a Stark; her place was here."

      I have my days where I buy into this theory. I commented above that there is evidence that can support this, and I think it would be wild if it's Tyrion, the child Tywin always denies, who is his true son and heir. Or if all of Tywin's "children" are really Aerys's?

    @stymee-9673 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Wow, you still don't point out that young Griff (the mummurs dragon) is in the seven kingdoms with Jon Connington in the books. Waiting to take westeros and Daenerys is nowhere to be found in the grass sea. Tyrion hasn't even met Daenerys yet and Mereen is still under attack. The secret pact of Dorne is about to be revealed, well, in a way it already has. I know there's so many details you can't cover them all but, kick back and go a little further in the bigger scope of things in the books.

    Dear me! Thank you for linking Jon to the Red Keep's Tomcat. I entirely missed the black bastard-link there. - And I just realized: Jon is the BROTHER of the black Tomcat Balerion in the Red Keep, since Balerion has been warged by his eldest sister Rhaenys at her death. - And the warging-magic makes Balerion, the black cat, and Ghost the white wolf... siblings! - O.o (Mindblown)

      @@jamesalexander5025 She is of Blackwood blood and the cat was with her under the bed, when she was pulled out and killed. She warged into him and since then he fights all the people who occupied her castle. There happened some magical interaction when Arya picked her cousin up, GRRM has not yet explained. They probably mindlinked for a moment, afterwards Arya's first identity-changing starts: first she is not recocgnized as a girl and the next moment not as Arya Stark. Her little cousin was locked in a Tomcat for almost two deacades, Arya must have received very confused mindpictures.

    I don't think there will be a king, queen, or any kingdom at all after
    the White Walkers' arrival. To me, is more likely that the realm will be dissolved, like the hundred kingdoms of the First Men did during the Long Night, and humanity would have to struggle to restore civilization.
    Also, I have no problem with Jon Snow being a secret Targaryen, but
    I don't like the idea of him being the "Rightful Heir". Jon Snow, in the books, had a lot of external and internal struggles beign a bastard in a society that despise people like him. In the Wall, they call him a turncloak and a murderous traitor (for Qhorin's death), which only adds up to the bastard stererotype (evil, treacherous, envious) that Westerosi society put on him. We see how he proves people's wrong views on him; how he proves that a bastard can be honorable, just and good as a trueborn lord or knight is (according to Westerosi stereoypes at least).
    There's also Jon's resurrection. GRRM said that Beric Dondarrion
    and Lady Stoneheart show how Jon will be when he revives. I can't see neither Beric or Stoneheart as examples of monarchs. So maybe Jon's posible Targaryen lineage might be of use for the "Three Heads of the Dragon" thing. Who knows?

    • @MrBrachiatingApe
      @MrBrachiatingApe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't mind seeing Jon end up king, but him being the rightful heir, having the lords acknowledge him as such, and just slide onto the throne all easy-peasy? Nah. Too pat. Too easy. Too cliched.
      Him becoming king because he defeats the army of the dead, protecting all 7 kingdoms, the hill tribes, and the wildlings, demonstrating virtue and martial prowess, before being the one to face down Daenarys and end the reborn threat of dragons and dragon-riders? To face down fire and ice, and take the damned thing though he doesn't want it? That's the proper way a hero is enlarged to kingship.

    When a questioner had proceeded to talk about R&L=J and how he believes it, hoping for tidbit, Martin's wife replied questioning: Do you really think George would do something as basic as Jon being the son of R&L?
    George always writes his characters so to be multidimensional. We only have seen Ned acting honorably, an one dimensional character, so I believe that there is more to this seemingly honorable man, and that he indeed cheated on Catalyn with Ashara Dayne, and here is how Jon was born. I think Ned just never forgave himself for doing that, being the honorable man he was remaining silent ...no to mention that R+L=J is making A Song of Ice and Fire more of a bed time fairy tale, than a serious story. " Ohh the beautiful prince Rheagar secretly run away with the beautiful princess Lyanna and their passionate love brought the extremely handsome prince Aegon Targaryen..." I mean come on... The books are so dense that even if you read them a dozen times you miss important details.

    I think Jon's revival might have something to do with an (in)ability to become king. Are we getting a Beric revival or are we getting a Lady Stoneheart revival? Or does he even actually die?
    My personal hope is a Lady Stoneheart revival where he slaughters the Bolton's and Frey's at Winterfell, although I know that would affect the rest of the story arc.

    I personally hope Jon Snows Targaryen-name will be different in the books. Many Targaryen's was named Aegon before. I don't know if Rhaegar and Lyanna talked names over and decided it final, perhaps we'll never know, but we DO know that Rhaegar already had a son named Aegon. Rhaegar and Elia was married after all, and had two children together; Rhaenys and Aegon. it's just too much that his second son would have the same name...

    I really can't shake my head from Dany saying "I will break the wheel". To me, this is foreshadowing that there will be no united kingdom in the end. I still think Drogon will torch King's Landing (although written much better by GRRM, may even involve Bran warging it for umm... reasons) and nobody wants to be ruler of the ashes. Then consider that there are major undercurrents in the story for the North to become an independent kingdom and that Dorne has no reason to swear fealty to whoever wants to clamor over the ashes. And possibly one of the most underrated players, the Iron Bank, may finally decide that Westeros is a failed investment and cut their losses. Also, Euron Greyjoy is trying to become a Lovecraftian god or whatever, so there's that.

  • @thephantom8342

    I think George will not end the books like the show considering how awful the last 2 seasons were. John and danny will have different fates along with bran. The cripple king was a joke in the show,the mad dragon queen was a farse and john bowing out for the wall was weak plus John has NO targaryen attributes. The hair,the eyes?? Nope,sorry.
    George will not disappoint his book fans. Euron has a dragon horn,stannis and mance are alive plus the question of littlefinger and sansa with arya still yet to come back. Nah,George wont disappoint the book readers.

    Alright let's face it, Jon will die. Everything foreshadows that Jon will be king but George kind of confirmed that the series will end with bran being the king. I don't think Jon will go like "oh, have enough of being king. Bran, you are king now", especially since he's the rightful heir and probably a good king.
