I played through some of P5 but got sick of it because the whole synopsis of it is so self righteous. The whole Persona equation is that some teens are given persona power and they use that power to make the world a better place indeed but P5 just went over the line. The people you change the hearts of are made to be so specifically 'evil' or 'corrupt' it leaves no sort of ambiguity for if what you're doing is right or not basically equating that the main characters are the only good people in the world and everyone else is wrong or evil.
Sure it may get better or people really enjoy that sort of thing but the matter of the fact I think they went over the top with the 'heroes of justice' thing that game.

The idea isnt "the main characters are right" it is specifically calling out Japanese culture and their cultural idea of "shikata ga nai" which ia basically 'it cannot be helped'. Everyone of the palaces has this one theme in common. That they all have someone closely tied to it that looks the other way and ignores whats happening in front of their eyes.
The third semester is LITERALLY them realizing that they aren't any more right than maruki. Just have differing viewpoints on what happiness is. And going through with it anyway because they choose to stay true to their convictions.
But even if what you say is right and that is the point... yea a rapist, plagerist, mafia boss ect are 100% evil and wrong. And should be punished
