Been doing drywall all my life, wanted to go to school seeking a business degree. Then, realized I could just start a business in the trade that has fed me and my family for years. Dropped out and now I’m closing contracts, finished paying my truck (2002 3500 Duramax), and now looking to get a small house to later turn into a rental. I’m only 22 years old👌🏼 work my ass off while I have the strength.
I love how transparent you are, dude! Not making any stories up, and recognizing where you came from. Not forgetting that it took help to get to where you're at now. I'm excited to see where this channel goes as it grows. I love the 2 ZL1's and that sweet new Z71. There's no secret to success, just work harder than the next guy, and keep proving yourself daily. That's the secret.
Nick I respect your honesty. Can definitely tell you're not bullshitting people. Definitely gained a lot of respect for you man! Keep up the great videos. You've have really inspired me to change my life and do things I thought I couldn't do. Thank you Nick.
Speed Life 336 So now you're inspired to live at home till you're 25 and have Mom and Dad subsidise your party? Yeah, he's a great role model. Ask all the kids at the Go-Cart track.
Fuck off Parker, that was his & his family's business & not yours. He paid his parents back the 9K he owed them. Nowhere has Nick set out to be a role model.
Kameron dd 80k year plus youtube he still cant afford it. This video is just to justify the purchase of his truck to himself. 170k is well over what he should be allotting for cars. If he was smart he would use that 170k and invest in stocks or a startup.
As a father of a teenager, thanks for being honest! It's easy for the younger folks to miss the part where you need to work to get a career started and that success doesn't just happen.
Or you could pay cash for a used car, take that $600-700 a month and invest it in a decent mutual fund or Roth IRA, and be a millionaire when you retire. But you know, to each his own.
And how do you know he doesn't have an extra 600-700 a month from either his job or his TH-cam channel that he puts away and also pays for these vehicles? He really only has 2 vehicles he pays on if I can remember the video correctly. It's really not that hard to make 2 car payments depending where you live in America and how much housing costs, or how much you choose to pay for a house. Why would you assume he's not planning for his future just because he has 2 car payments? There's many many house holds out there where a man goes to work his wife stays home with the kids and he buys 2 cars or maybe 2 cars and an SUV / Truck and they make it just fine. So why can't he?
I thought you were a jerk off before watching this video. Mad respect. I also worked in a steel mill before It closed. Bought two brand new Chevy pick ups. Bought my own house. A bank foreclosure I renovated in 6 months with nothing but good credit and a loan from my own retirement account. Also worked a second job for over a decade. Lots of people thought I was spoiled but I'm the son of teenage parents. I'm self made through hard work 24/7. You are the real deal and have a loyal subscriber with my full respect.
The zl1 with no added mileage from his point of purchase has a loss of about $10k. Not knocking the life, but anything with a motor loses money and is not something I would drop my money on. Props on the hard work.
Nick. You mike, and Andy have all inspired me I currently work at sonoco recycling in South Carolina. My day job I watch y’all videos all the time constantly. (Not at work of course) but I’m starting a TH-cam channel now , well I started it last night actually and put up a couple just started videos . My truck a 2004 crew cab short bed GMC Sierra is almost paid off and the trans and transfercase decided to go boom. But needless to say you three guys inspired me to create my own channel . Inshane designs as well is included in this and I’ll be trying my hardest once I get on my feet to send all of y’all some fan mail , and as well making some amazing content like y’all do thank you all for the inspiration.
When mike uploads a video with you in it, you're constantly finding angles, talking videos, and working on making your channel better. You deserve every bit of success you're receiving.
Nick man, hats off to you ! Heck of a job you got there. No intentions of a diet video but guaranteed the heat there keeps the weight off. Watch your videos regularly when time permits but this one needs shared. Keep it up! Lots of people need to see this.
People always asked if I have a nice car but I choose to throw almost all of money into a college fund since I'm going to college. People simply do not have enough savings. I have enough for any kind of emergencies and I budget spending accordingly per month + a little extra.
Hey Nick, I have a 30K a year job in Africa. Drive a Focus and bought a flat last year. You inspired me to save for a Gopro and vlog as well. I love the content and your honesty. Gob bless you buddy! I wish I can afford to go to the US 1 day and meet you...I promise I am cool, but you are my HERO man!
Probably one of the few videos about someone being open, honest, and transparent. You aren't trying to create a facade and pretend to be something that you aren't. What you did takes guts! I hope you you continue to thrive. No matter how large you may become, never forget where you started. I respect the hustle!
I respect your honesty bro thanks for those positive words. Right now I'm working 2 two jobs saving money to buy a house. I too am in a tight budget all I'm doing saving money.
Seen your videos intermittently for the past year and a half... subscribed because you were so clear about how you got where you are. That honesty is absent from most channels.
Just watched this video. Nothing but respect for the blue collar guy making ends meat and working a little extra/harder in order to have the things you want. 👊
Great insight man! I think a lot of people still don't understand how these things work and you explained it well. Been following you since before you had 10k and mike before he has 50k. You guys have great content and awesome vehicles. Took me awhile but I started vlogging after watching both of you for so long. Props on another great video and I wish you luck on your future success!
Nice video, when I was your age I was just like you except there was no you tube and no way to make money like that only hard work. Now that I'm 54 I'm burnt out and to tired to do what you do so I love watching you and wondering how it could have been. Get everything you can now because that clock spins fast. Your a great kid and I hope you continue to do even better you deserve everything you have....
I just happened to run across your channel and after hearing what you had to say, I'm a bit impressed! I'm a guy that's twice your age, still don't own my home, (working on that) but none the less, you've given me some hope for my future. Thank you for THAT! I am a former Union Ironworker, local 377 San Francisco. Got hurt on the job, have been on full disability since 03, and haven't given up yet! Thanks for the inspiration, hopefully I can get endorsed by these bigger channels and move forward with my channel and meet my goals! Razor!
Same here! That's what I say when people ask why I spend money on cars and car parts. It's my hobby! Yeah, it's a damn expensive one, but I could spend money on other things instead. I just choose not to.
Such a straight forward and informative video, no bullshit, no kissing ass, straight to the point and very simple explanations on how your lifestyle works for you! awsome dude
Finally someone that gives a decent, honest explanation and throws in some numbers about how much they bring in from TH-cam. Thank you. Congratulations on your success.
I think ima give it a try I'm 23 today and i just got off a major injury.... It gives me an uplift to see people striving.. Again thanks for the inspiration i needed that.
SO much respect for this video bro. I bought my 13 ZL1 right after I got hired at the railroad and its insane how close our stories really are. Mines at 700hp now no spray. Thanks for being honest, that was a super cool video to watch and why CABLE TV IS DEAD now. I love it man, good luck and keep working hard!
Dude I just subscribed to your channel just from listening to what you said in this video. I am a painter. Not one who paints murals but houses commercial buildings and industrial buildings and for the last 3 or 4 years I have been wanting to make You Tube videos about painting. Like I would show the way certain things are done, show short cuts, product reviews, etc etc ! I work my ass off 6 to 7 days a week and just like you from 60 to 80 hours weekly. I don't want to make a ton of money from You Tube but like you said it's free money and from watching this video I'm definitely going to start my own channel and see what happens. I have been painting for 20 years and I am 37 yrs old and been doing it since I graduated H.S. . I am definitely going to continue to watch your videos man. Thanks for helping me make up my mind on making videos and when you said it's free money that sealed the deal for me. Keep up the awesome hard work man and I am gonna go back and watch some videos.
I have followed Mike for a while. Seen your vids, today made me subscribe awesome to see guy workin his ass off for what he wants. Deff can tell there is no bullshit here! Keep up good work and keep the vids coming cant wait to see whats next
Great video Nick. My dad told me when I was a teenager that hard work pays. If you love what you do that you will never work a day in your life. I'm an arch welder currently working in Southwest Montana. Grew up in the Seattle area. I love what I do its a blast.
You sir are my hero...inspiring anyone that can buy one or two cars without being rich! I recently have a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium and trying to sell or trade it in for a 2016 Camaro SS,but thanks to you I can do it!!! You really are blessed man GuitarmageddonZL1!!👍🏾👏🏾
Bro I believe this video to be legitimate. He’s been doing what it takes to grab this channel and take it to the next level. My props for doing what you do man, keep up the good work. Hopefully one day we can collaborate!!
I never actually subscribed to your channel until the videos that you did at Camaro Fest. The video you did there won me over as a subscriber. This video right here though has me clicking the notification button. Its great to know there are still honest, hard working individuals such as myself. And I love the fact that you are a Camaro owner too. Keep up the great content.
I make 12.50 an hour, I work for my dads friend that owns an environmental company (we clean up oil spills and fuel spills) I was hired without experience and I'm trying to save up for a brand new camaro ss I'm 19 and live with my dad all I pay is my phone bill and internet bill. Hopefully one day I can get my dream car and post vids on it
just buy used there's really no good reason at all in buying new one especially with that kind of pay. Id rather save that money and invest in something more beneficial. If i can go back years ago, I would have probably bought a commuter car and just save up while working my way getting educated to earn much more money then once the right time come I dont even have to worry about paying for a brand new car with the money I'll be making.
Just started watching these vids, and has 100% gained my respect that I don't give for any TH-camrs, because they are fake, he works for his money like me and the rest of the normal people, but I also have a passion for cars and have always been hesitant to start a vlog channel or even just regular uploads, but now that I see how he has it done It pushes me a little bit more every video I watch on his channel, thx man and I hope to be in your spot some day 💪🏼🙏🏻🇨🇦
Damn, man. I'm a nervous wreck on camera but I think I'm going to try and do this. Hopefully I can get good support and constructive criticism from potential subscribers. Thank you, for the motivation and pep talk
I did something very similar to you. Played in a band that ended, then went back to college and got a job as a system administrator. Been able to get into my hobby of cars thanks to a lot of hard work and applying to jobs all over the country. Have a 2017 Mustang GT and love it.
@Alexchoi This is a back story. Great guy for letting his subs know about his story. Thanks GuitarmageddonZL1 you earned sum respect and a sub, keep up the good/hard work!!!
Nick great video! I used to work 72-80 hr weeks at an Alcoa aluminum smelter until it was shut down in January of 16 because of Communist subsidized Chinese aluminum flooding the markets. Seeing your footage of the plant brought back good memories of making aluminum with my friends of 29 yrs. You are living the American car crazy dream man keep up the good work!
Good job bro keep it up I want to see u pass street speed in every way happy to see ur a real hard working American 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Man that was real talk right there. You have to stay on the grind if you don't you may never reach your goal. Thanks for the video, I'm all pumped up ready to push myself to the next level!!
Nice, I'm an Electric Arc Furnace/ladle metallurgy furnace operator. Our jobs are defenantly not for the faint of heart, but the pay and benefits are worth it.
Nick I'm 8:33 into the Vlog. It's great dude! Now I get the call out video on JR garage. I bust my ass everyday as a barber in Lexington, Ky. I don't have a TH-cam channel. But watching 717 channel first lead me to yours. I decided after watching the vlogs it was time to get my first dream ride. Keep working hard sir. We know it pays off!
dude I am from Bangladesh and I cannot explain how crazy I am about cars. I watched this video and huge respect to you man. You've inspired me to work hard and get my ass over to USA and own a 2018 GT Mustang. subbed right away. Thanks man! ❤
My friend just got a 2014 high country and while it's nice, my 2001 silverado is paid for lol. Got it right out of high school, I'll get a new one in 3 years, by choice, even then probably a 2014-2017.
Great vid Nick! I think everyone has gained a lot of respect for you for be very transparent about your story here! You're a hard worker everyday that budgets for cool cars, just like myself! Not given some mystery $ like some people think, keep it up!
Respect to you for working in a steel mill. Most definitely a dangerous job for sure. I am a over the road truck driver and it has to be the most dangerous job I've ever had.
Two words; lemonade. Stand.
Damn it, just saw the part where he said it WASN'T a lemonade stand:(
Crowd Killer 5.0 One word HELL
Crowd Killer 5.0 duh
Crowd Killer 5.0 4 words technically
I want to know what's in that lemonade.
Went from one job working with heavy metal to another.
I'll show myself out.
MachineFreaks don't go...we need more people like you in the comment section.
GuitarmageddonZL1 pin this to the top plz lol
yep, needs to be pinned lmao :D
The power lies in HEAVY FUCKIN' METAL ;)
This is the first time i've actually watched a video where someone was honest about what they do! Thank you for that.
People forget the trades. Electrician, mason, carpenter. No degree required.
I’m an electrician!! Just bought a 2016 Silverado z71 crew cab I think I’m going to start making videos about it !!!
Been doing drywall all my life, wanted to go to school seeking a business degree. Then, realized I could just start a business in the trade that has fed me and my family for years. Fuck off Parker, that was his & his family's business & not yours. He paid his parents back the 9K he owed them. Nowhere has Nick set out to be a role model.
Speed Life 336 thanks a lot man! Keep up the hard work!
You afford it by having a job and not being stupid
Jesse Garcia but you just can't have any job you can't be working at McDonald's and have all these cars
Duh
Jesse Garcia yea but he makes 80k a year + youtube
Yea I watched the video
Kameron dd 80k year plus youtube he still cant afford it. This video is just to justify the purchase of his truck to himself. 170k is well over what he should be allotting for cars. If he was smart he would use that 170k and invest in stocks or a startup.

Perfect example of a hard working tradesman. You make a very honest living and it makes me excited to go to trade school for welding in a few weeks

Or you could pay cash for a used car, take that $600-700 a month and invest it in a decent mutual fund or Roth IRA, and be a millionaire when you retire. But you know, to each his own.
SpenceTheSpartan
I like this idea.
SpenceTheSpartan I'm spending mine in a index fund #Finance major😉
SpenceTheSpartan agreed
Or you can die young and not have fun...to each their own
And how do you know he doesn't have an extra 600-700 a month from either his job or his TH-cam channel that he puts away and also pays for these vehicles? He really only has 2 vehicles he pays on if I can remember the video correctly. I have gained a whole new outlook on you and your channel. Much respect brother. You really just inspired me man. Thank you
This was the first car vlog I ever watched on TH-cam 😂❤
Good job Nick! Hard work does pay off. Also not getting married and/or having kids is also a key to success.
Dude I would love for you to be a full time youtuber! Love your vids! You deserve it
How to get big on youtube: Have your air bags deploy. Instant 100k subs

I love how you're actually real and honest unlike everyone else selling lemonade apparently. Hard work pays off my man, A+ on the video.
We all know jackson is the one making the 💰
That's where he makes his money he kills t1000's for John Conner at the mill!! Makes sense now!!
The zl1 with no added mileage from his point of purchase has a loss of about $10k. Not knocking the life, but anything with a motor loses money and is not something I would drop my money on. Props on the hard work.
15:35 Nick says "this truck" as the word truck appears in the window
Vanished Grape I read that as it happened!!!! Hahahaha
Vanished Grape oh shit! 😂
+GuitarmageddonZL1 truckillati confirmed nick lol. I rewatched that section after this comment and lol
Vanished Grape yoooo
I noticed that too LOL
It's kinda funny, if I like a channel, and like the people in it, I like it when they're successful! Great videos Nick, keep it up.

Awesome video Nick! I appreciate your honesty on your financial status.
I like how honest you were about this. Most TH-camrs don't tell the real

So you cut back on living lavish to have your cars??
Julio Torres He is living lavish through his cars. Every person has their own materialistic objects they spend their money on
This is actually your best video to date! Awesome job bro! we got to know ......you.
Great video Nick. My dad told me when I was a teenager that hard work pays. If you love what you do that you will never work a day in your life. I'm an arch welder currently working in Southwest Montana. Grew up in the Seattle area. I love what I do its a blast.

A mortgage ain’t cheap but it’s a great long term investment 😎👍
That equity becomes a key to financial success.
I make 12.50 an hour, I work for my dads friend that owns an environmental company (we clean up oil spills and fuel spills) I was hired without experience and I'm trying to save up for a brand new camaro ss I'm 19 and live with my dad all I pay is my phone bill and internet bill. Hopefully one day I can get my dream car and post vids on it
I bought my 2016 Camaro SS at 19 (check it out on my channel). It's totally doable. Keep working and stay focused!!
SPACE CITY 713 why buy new? Get a used one and save a few thousands for car parts brotha
SPACE CITY 713 I make 9.45 a hour & I want a Camaro ss too, respect dude so far I have 3.7k saved up
just buy used there's really no good reason at all in buying new one especially with that kind of pay. Id rather save that money and invest in something more beneficial. If i can go back years ago, I would have probably bought a commuter car and just save up while working my way getting educated to earn much more money then once the right time come I dont even have to worry about paying for a brand new car with the money I'll be making.
Wish you the best luck my friend
I respect the fact you still work a day job! 💪💪💪
What your saying is exactly on point 💯 finally someone who sees/ I can relate to about this subject. Respect to you & keep up the hard work
Your video popped up and low and behold I'm now a subscriber. Hard work pays off. Keep doing what you're doing my brother.
Just started watching these vids, and has 100% gained my respect that I don't give for any TH-camrs, because they are fake, he works for his money like me and the rest of the normal people, but I also have a passion for cars and have always been hesitant to start a vlog channel or even just regular uploads, but now that I see how he has it done It pushes me a little bit more every video I watch on his channel, thx man and I hope to be in your spot some day 💪🏼🙏🏻🇨🇦
"its not a lemonade stand"....savage
Damn, man. I'm a nervous wreck on camera but I think I'm going to try and do this. Hopefully I can get good support and constructive criticism from potential subscribers. Thank you, for the motivation and pep talk
Nick you are the best! I appreciate your words and is a definitely a true motivation!
Finally a channel whos advice is obviously genuine. Love it.
Dude a huge thumbs up for doing your day job! That looks rough.
Thank you for your honesty man, this video makes me feel good about my own endeavors to build a good future :)
Respect, brother! I think most of your followers were happy to hear you're just a man with big dreams and a metric butt ton of motivation. Kudos!
Good job bro keep it up I want to see u pass street speed in every way happy to see ur a real hard working American 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
JOSHUA JOSH Real Americans aren't hard working. They bought slaves to do their work for them because they're LAZY.
Anonymous Savior oh shut the fuck up.you act like Americans started slavery(we didn't) or were the only ones that did it (we weren't)
Tons of respect for keeping it real Nick!
Great respect for explaining to your young fans how to do it the right way..
Are you stupid or just new?
Man that was real talk right there. You have to stay on the grind if you don't you may never reach your goal. Thanks for the video, I'm all pumped up ready to push myself to the next level!!
Nice, I'm an Electric Arc Furnace/ladle metallurgy furnace operator. Our jobs are defenantly not for the faint of heart, but the pay and benefits are worth it.
After this video I am subscribing to you... stay humble
To me, this is one of your best videos --- you're obviously not afraid of work --- keep your videos coming
No panoramic roof?😐
No the silverados don’t come with a panoramic. But they do come with s standard sunroof that’s if you want it
Nick I'm 8:33 into the Vlog.
Much respect, new subscriber here, hard work pays off still in 2017
I like your channel but mostly love your work ethic. Keep doing what your doing. Love the zl1
