Introducing the all-new BMW 7 Series & all-electric i7! Don’t worry, there isn’t a concept car insight in this video - this is what these new cars will actually look like!
So let’s take a closer look… Both the 7 Series & i7 are remarkably similar, which means both look less aggressive than the previous-generation 7 Series, coming with a massive grille upfront, flush door handles, and a much cleaner rear end. If anything, the rear design makes it look a bit old fashioned!
Step inside, and there are luxurious designs and materials throughout the entire cabin. Both cars come with BMW’s curved infotainment screen, which is attached to a minimalist dash. There are also a number of trims and materials to choose from, too, including cashmere seat fabric!
The biggest improvement to the interior, though, is definitely in the rear. Back seat passengers will have the option to reveal a 31” 8k cinema screen which is also accompanied by 36 speakers throughout the cabin! It’s also possible to recline the rear seats to truly enjoy your movies in style & comfort.
There are a load of engines & batteries to choose from, with the 7 Series range-topper being the M760e hybrid, which combines an engine and motors to deliver 571hp and to hit 60mph in around 4.3 seconds. BMW has also confirmed an i7 M70 is on the way in the future, which should be good for 660hp & 1,000Nm!!

Front end looks solid with the M trim. Didnt like it initially until I saw one in person - futuristic, yet majestic and classy. Huge and sits just right with the bug wheels. Also, Hans Zimmer musical notes? Brilliant.
I knew most people were gonna react like that after seeing the car real life. Risks are the heartbeat of a successful business, if you don't take any risks you'll have a business with low success rate.
The 8k tv is a thing that everybody will start offering after this. But the exterior... I need to see it live, cuz now it looks like something that I would rather not look for long.
BMW really do need to hire some decent designers. Their cars get uglier by the year :-(

@@archimedes2261 in which world is RR price near $145k? Here in UK Phantom =£363k, Wraith=£258k, Cullinan=£254k, Ghost=£233k, Dawn=£282k. RR is about 100k more so they are not in the same league.

I actually like the new design philosophy BMW is taking. It was a bit bizarre at first but it grew on me.

I'm sure it'll have amazing technology. Being a BMW, it'll probably be great to drive. I have no doubt that the backseat will be a lovely place to be (same can't quite be said about the EQS). However, I wouldn't be caught dead in one. BMW needs to fire the entire design department.

Mercedes has been copying from hyundai for several years, so they didn't want to be worse. So hyundai just need to hire better designers and then everything will be ok :)

The facelifted X7 definitely prepared me for the look of the 2023 7 series but my god, the i7 is something else. That is one of the ugliest front end ever designed for a car. I'm shiver knowing BMW eventually gonna butchered the beautiful 3 series

Ive always been a BMW fan, but I think its coming to an end with these new designs. BMW has a few iconic design details, the main ones being the kidney grilles and the halo headlights, both of those are gone. The interior looks fantastic and im sure it will drive and perform great, but these exterior designs are just ruining the whole thing.

Gloss black was bad enough but now, you get a cascade of tacky "gems" reflecting light in every direction, blinding and distracting you in the process.
Get rid of that and rip out those touchscreen things in the rear doors and you have a good interior.

Hyundai’s Genesis is trying to make the horizontally split headlights happen and I give BMW props for being daring in finding a new design language, but all I’m getting is Citroën C4 Cactus

This Gray really stands out and some of the great cam angles make it look like a Rolls qell they do own the RR so it makes sense to see a glimpse of it as you see Audi as the mini Lamb 🐑

I like the light thing in the roof and the screen in the back is interesting. I dont think it is a good idea to build a fully electric car on a non electric platform and than build later one on a electric platform. I would prefer the S-Class just from the looks but I will wait to see the 7Series in real life.
Agreed in a way but this execution is better as a luxury sedan than the EQS since it retains the fundamentals in the rear whereas the EQS isn't as luxurious as a normal S in the rear. And also, it seems the electric only platform makes no difference since the i7 has the same range as the EQS so there's no excuse for the EQS to look like it does and to compromise in the rear as much as it has.

Interestingly BMW set often the standard with a design change for the industry...the X6 was for me always an ugly car...but now...any OEM has a SUV Coupe in any SUV series, too.
I really hope it doesn’t leave the production line looking like that, especially knowing it’s predecessors fared much much better in terms of how it looked.
Hopefully there’s a last min change though.

I would be in the minority, because I like the new design philosophy. It grew on me after some time.
Also, there is very, very little chances that they would change the front fascia.
Assuming larger diamter tires is better is a rather tired cliche. For PHEV / EV, smaller tires significantly increase range. They also increase ride qualty with less noticeable bumps. I don't think most 7 Series drivers, esp. the i7, are throwing this into curves and need 22" tires to do so. Make judgments based on the targeted audience of a car and all variables, not just how well it will corner.

The rear looks like it came off a Korean car, and they took off the trendy light bar, the previous gen rear looked much better, the black/dual tone car's front end looked pretty good, still too aggressive, but the interior is stunning

After a month, for most of the time apart from a handful of features we tend to use, the radio, USB or HDD of music you've heard in another car 1000 times, inputting the location of where you're going to now and again, you are not going to make use of the tech or not notice it from most cars built since 2014. It simply is just that way!

Take a look to the upcoming Rolls Royce Spectre, it has the same thin upper front lights and the bigger ones right under those. Just like BMW did with this all new 7 series and the X7 restyling.

In my opinion the BMW E38 was the pinnacle of interior design. The dual headlight design on this gen 7 series is reminiscent of the Griswald’s station wagon from the movie Vacation (1983) starring Chevy Chase.

Yeah I've got a Lexus LS430 from the same time period as the E38 7 Series and that generation of Luxury Saloons, the A8, S Class, even the Bentleys & Maserati Quattroporte & Volvo S90 all had a very particular interior design, homogenous consoles and dashboards with a HEAVY emphasis on stained rare woods and an overwhelming amount of leather.
About 2012 that evolved to include a lot of metals as well and metallic coloured plastics plus the implementation of more and more LCD screens. And by 2016 every luxury vehicle was put together like they were taking part in a modern design competition, lots of matte woods, mixed materials not just leather but lots of premium feeling synthetic materials, and every chair, arm rest, console, dashboard, etc was now uniquely sculpted to stand out as it's own thing within the interior, plus in general they used softer colour palettes, and when they did use leather it was reliably extravagantly patterned, quilted, cross hatching, striped, honeycombed, etc. And of course, RGB LED lighting EVERYWHERE!
The front design, it's all over the place... Looks even more weird when the lights are turned on..the interior is a class act though..
Preferred the chrome lines on the back extending along the doors...
Will be interesting to see how we view the exterior in the future, I feel like now it doesn’t look great. It’s hard to imagine but years in the future this might be amazing.

Honestly, the black 7 (matte paint?) looks surprisingly good. Also, the interior does look really futuristic. All in all, the dual headlights is the only detail that, in my opinion, doesn't work too well.
Cars are not supposed to look good in all black matte paint with no chrome details such as door trim and/or bumper details, like if you were ashamed of it, but with all specification. Color does not make a great design, great design makes a great design.
If the bottom two headlights were at the place where the top two are and if it had only those two headlights it would have looked great

If a car with black details only looks good in black, it means it looks good when youre hiding design features. And that again means it isnt a good looking car.

That black one version look pretty good. The headlights reminds me eyes of Iron Man. Interior is pretty impressive. Its revolution inside. Times change so it cannot be a old way of materials and digital stuff.

I don't mind having a similar body. But the CHASSIS is the same and lots of wasted space and relatively low range for the i7 EV. 388 miles Not Even Damn Close soo about 300 miles real world. Meanwhile Lucid Air does 414 miles real world.

From behind: Renault Laguna 3 coupe, from front: Hyundai Kona, from side: Chrysler 300. I really have mixed feeling about this combination...I belive that the "old" model had more BMW personality.

All good things must come to an end. Thank you bmw for giving us something to work hard for, all I dreamt about as a kid is walking into a bmw dealership someday and buy one brand spanking new. Thanks to your designs I get to keep alot more money in my pocket.

NZ government is offering $8700 subsidy on all new EV purchases in a move to reduce emissions. If world governments offered these kinds of subsidies on petrol based cars, the pendulum will swing the other way. Maybe be informed before flapping your gums 😂. All the while BMW still posted record sales numbers despite these setbacks. Also this BS you posting a out Tesla has nothing to do design you fcking moron 😂😂😂. I bought it for 1 quarter of what that price once was, thanks to depreciation. If you’re actually smart, you wouldn’t buy this brand new. Because you would lose out on your ass.
