Yes, even among counter-tenors Jaroussky is quite, quite remarkable. It's not just a voice but the skill and passion with which it is employed.
I think we have found a farinelli, the closest thing we have to a boy's voice in an adult, but with an extremely developped technique, truly heavenly!

I have never heard such a voice in an adult, true, it's close to a boy soprano but wit power. Now I realize why our forebears loved the male countertenors and sopranos as well as the female voices.
Faure’ Réquiem is really trancendental and in Jaroussky voice is a journey to heaven!

The Faure requiem is the most beautiful piece of sacred liturgical music ever composed with profound understanding of it's liturgical meaning. This particular piece is the profound emotional feeling, prayer and hope of anyone who has encountered the death of a beloved person. It always seems that Faure wrote this requiem experiencing the loss of a loved one and yet the music expresses calm and hope. Wonderful voice; great artist!!
It's very interesting that you got this impression, because from what I heard, Fauré wrote his requiem shortly after one of his parents died

@@antoinechp4945 Votre opinion s'appuie sur le "droit", ce qui dans le contexte de la musique ne veut rien dire ^^ Cette oeuvre demande des sons sans vibrato (voix "blanche") ce qu'un soprano (lyrique) est souvent incapable de faire sauf si elle travaille avec une technique baroque (Monique Zanetti, Emma kirkby etc.). La tessiture est très tendue pour un homme et Jarousky fait ici une démonstration vocale sans égale. Vous avez le droit d'exprimer votre opinion, je doute qu'elle fasse autorité dans le monde musical où l'opinion personnelle est balayée par une analyse musicale qui dépasse les lieux communs des garçons coiffeurs.

The Fauré Requiem is one of my all time favourite works. I have sung it with numerous choirs over many, many years and this is the most enthralling, entrancing, beautiful performance of the Pie Jesu that I have ever had the pleasure of hearing.
