Good grades are nice, but what you learn is more important. It is better to take challenging classes and learn new and useful things than to make good grades by only taking classes that are easy for you. I started at community college, finished my undergraduate at a mid-university with something like a 3.2 GPA, and still got into one of the best graduate programs in the country for what I do (though I left to focus on my work). Your work, volunteer experience, portfolio, and story will take you much further than grades alone.
Summary: 1. Have a consistent morning and night routine - identify time for wakeup and bedtime for developing your circadian routine - small habits: making bed, skincare, vitamins; journal, etc. - prepare things you need in advance to reduce friction in establishing your new routines 2. Find a system that keeps you organized, daily and weekly - write your to do and deadlines on planners, calendars, notion, google calendar, etc. - include personal me time task 3. Show up to class as your ideal self - be attentive to claaa, sit on front row, turn off notifs Take notes - could be cornell, mindmaps, bullet, diagrams, charts, etc. 4. Romanticize school - life is more than school - discover new spots, playlists, bring book, take time in prep, treat yourself... everything that can give you happiness 5. Work on becoming more discipline - work smarter not harder - balance your personal and school life - when you work, make sure it's distraction free, you can only focus for only few hours - set your phone, use apps like flora to avoid unnecessary notifs when focusing or turn it off - watch study with me (have virtual study buddy) - avoid using phone during breaks, avoid too much stimulation - after class go to library to get work done if you know you can't be motivated when you get home (only leave when task is done) - see if you like being alone or with someone - be discipline when you have to stop working, so you get the most whwn working 6. Acknowledge when you feel burnt out - rest when you're burnt out, it's not the end of the world - when you're overworked, you can't be efficient Extra tip - take small, baby steps
a whole video on romanticising would be great !!! i would watch it !! i need to start noticing the smaller things to enjoy everyday more rather than let the time pass by
God loves you! He wants to have a relationship with you! Repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much mercy, joy, peace and love!💕
God loves you! He wants to have a relationship with you! Repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much mercy, joy, peace and love!💕
Your advice is very balanced! It’s refreshing to see as opposed to the other “perfect student” advice I see on TH-cam. Calling students who aren’t getting a 4.0 GPA lazy 🙄🙄🙄 You give constructive criticism that I’m motivated to adapt in my own life. Thank you!
God loves you! He wants to have a relationship with you! Repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much mercy, joy, peace and love!💕
1:41 ATTENTION MY FELLOW NIGHT OWLS, when she says going to bed a little later and having time to work in the evening, she does NOT mean being an insomniac. IF YOU CAN'T SLEEP, YOU WON'T BE PRODUCTIVE! I had insomnia but recently got melatonin, gosh it has been SO, SO, SO much easier to wake up early, focus on work, etc. Please sleep people 🙏
The way you showed the green house and I immediately knew what uni/city you are in omfg!! Congrats on first semester of uni btw (from a very jaded STEM undergrad)
Ommgg your video is so good. I have ADHD and I usually just leave watching midway...but yours is an absolute masterpiece and I stayed focused till the end. Yes my ADHD is what causes me to be distracted during my studies so that is why I am trying to learn how to be consistent
God loves you! He wants to have a relationship with you! Repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much mercy, joy, peace and love!💕
@Name56728 I know you can do it..everytime you feel unmotivated you should ask yourself " Will that contribute to the future I envisioned? Will my future self be proud of me? "It's a bit brutal but it helps🥰
Its so determining and admiring at the same time when you see your girlieee gang being productive and keeping up and prioritizing career over every silly and useless things at the same time enjoying the process and loving what you do...keep going and please bring more such contents..lotsoflove
I'm really stressed right now cuz I have a testweek next week(I'm in highschool) and I started too late actually. Now I feel like I already failed and can't let the feeling go:( So I try to motivate myself by watching your video haha. But to everyone studying right now, good luck you got thiss! Also sorry my english sucks, I'm dutch.
Just found this video/your channel and I completely agree with your views on productivity, specially when you mentioned it being important to also know when to stop working to keep a balanced lifestyle (this is something I struggle with and it felt very validating to hear you say it ahah). Great content! ✨
i dont know why but while watching this i had the idea of the fact that i feel like it would be easier for me to have like transcripts of the videos i like to watch instead of actually watching it, also no hate against your video this actually helped me sm and btw love to you
your video has some really good points that i can use as a pre-med student! i wanted to share a tip as well that might be helpful to someone: so i have ADHD and a very busy, spontaneous schedule (volunteering at the ER, research assistant and a part time job preparing the stadium at my school for concerts and athletic events). i love having a lot on my plate but it can be really difficult to sit down and just focus on one thing for hours. the 25/5 pomodoro method was helpful for me BUT only when i planned out breaks that were energizing but not TOO entertaining that i wouldn't want to start studying again. during the 5 minute break, i will do 100 squats or 100 crunches or 5 minutes of stretching or one small chore, like washing dishes, taking out trash, etc. it helps wake me up when i get bored from sitting down and isn't too distracting from my study session. also, make sure to drink lots of water and have a small snack every few hours. i hope this is helpful for someone who has ADHD
On the topic of asking for extensions. If it is a once in a while thing it is not an issue but you have to be prepared the the answer may be no or your grade may be docked. If you are routinely asking for extensions you need to sit down and re-evaluate some things. You may need to adjust priorities, rethink extracurricular activities, or consider if your course load is realistic or if you need to drop a class. If you are not turning assignments in on time then you are falling behind in class because material builds on each other
I actually tried my best to sit in the first row for the first few weeks of freshman year of University. But I'm far sighted, and therefore cannot read nearby things or see them. And would get a headache after every class. Now I'm a front bencher at heart but back bencher in reality 😭😭😭
Your vibe is sooo niceeee. This is the first time I have watched your videos, but I got a very positive energy which motivated me much more than some videos that I watch, since some of the people who I've seen are kinda proud because they are such a good student (just some of them, not all :) ) but you gave a vibe of a very kind person. Also personally I think your advices were so helpful and gave me lots of motivation. :)))
loved this :) especially loved how healthy it was! love that you're spreading the important idea that we can build in good self care (and self love) habits for our own wellness into an organized and productive student life. exactly the kind of positivity I needed today while studying for qualifying exams.
thankyouuu clarisse!! (once again) I'm not disciplined at all tbh and obvs it's not like suddenly after watching this video, I'll become disciplined within a day and sooo, I loveeee how you included the baby steps part at the end, manifesting good health and grades for everyone out there, we got this!! ^^
This is so lovely and helpful! I am starting my first semester of graduate school in a few weeks and have been in a funk/overwhelmed with imposter syndrome. I love your advice - especially romanticizing school! Thank you!
I am a student and I study in class 10th. Your videos are too informative. And I like your videos and every video watch me because your video help me most to live a good student life. I want to say that you make more videos like that.

TH-cam Do you guys really find that writing pages of notes and going over them is the best way to study? This is an honest question, I'm truly curious. Because I used to be the kind of person to write basically pages of notes in my notebooks, but for some reason I couldn't retain any of the stuff I wrote. I found that going through my textbooks and writing questions on note cards with the answers to the questions on the back saved me time and effort for when exam time came around because not only would I have questions from each chapter of the text book, but I'd have the ability to sort out the questions and color coded chapter cards into the types of questions the TA's/Proff's said would be on the exam. This is how I became a minimalist A grade students when I used to average at B's. I'd even do this in lectures/class, bring a stack of note cards and write questions on them that, even if the Proff. didn't give the answers clearly, I'd go back and look up the answers from the text book. Anyway, this is just my experience, but I'm curious about how other people learn.
Thank you for this very useful informations, and I will try it to organise my time because I suffer from studying for long hours and that really tires me 👍👍
I love how inspiring and motivating your videos are!! Life is not only about school is such a truthful coment. i'm really trying to be in this more consistent and healthy mindset, looking for a more balanced life! Loved your adivice! 🤍
omg I couldn't wait for the next movie.❤ As usual, super inspiring.✨Your vlogs are brilliant, they make me want to work. I'm going back to university tomorrow after the break, so thank you for your video.💖
TSYM I'm completely sure this didn't only help me, but all of the people who find this video loved the way you talked about all the topics, giving that energy that you know for sure what you're talking abt 💗
I loveee this!! The chill academia vibe, the tips, the cute outfits, and you are so beautiful!!! I'm starting college this fall and this made me so much more confident :)

Probably a random comment, but english is not my native language and I'm still learning, but I absolutely understand every tip in this video thanks to your way to explain, new subscriber🥰
I've been struggling quite a lot currently with creating a study routine that would work for me and that I could actually stick to! This video has given me a lot of insights! Needed this! Thank you! 💖
this video helped alot, im a first year student this year studying architecture, are you able to make any first year tips anything tht should be recommended to do as a first year in uni, this would help me alot, but overall i really loved how you explained this thru well done!!!
Your mental health is more important than anything in your life. Going for a walk and being in movement is so beneficial for depression. Even if you don’t want to do it just get up and walk or do exercise, it’ll help, believe me. 🌻 If you can afford go to therapy, read self help books and do a lot of mental exercises. I would recommend “Feeling Good” by David Burns. I hope you will be feeling better and start your studying journey at the right time. Have a nice day! ☀️
I suggest that you fast for an entire month from eating, drinking, and doing bad deeds from sunrise to sunset. This improves your whole life, not just saves you from depression
I'm just sick of trying to be perfect 😢 I've putted a LOT of efforts my whole life to be perfect and what all it gave me was stress, insecurities and disappointment. But now I've added in my life that I'll only do what I like and won't force myself into useless things just for the sake of so called "societal likings". Being a student of 85+ with being good in extracurricular activities, some friends and have a happy and satisfied life. Trust me it is way better than being a loner and who's afraid of failure and is wasting his/her life for that 98%. Ignore all this perfect pleasing bulsh!t and live your life to the fullest. *No hate to the video tho, the girl is doing really well. And I'm her subscriber*
nah fr it was around midterms time that I began to try to be this “perfect student” studying for 5+ hours everyday and I remember feeling so horrible when I scored anything less than an A because I put school over essential things, it just makes you unhappy you have to find that balance
Watching this after I took my thermodynamics exam . As an engineering major… trying to tell half of them there is more to life than As and GPA… is like talking to a wall
It's actually true Life is there much rather than school and all stuffs Rightly said ..Btw Wht a best and perfect videoo its so much helpful to all the youngesters over there ..thanks for giving such motivating advicess !!
the imposter syndrom is so real 😭😭 i'm always a straight A student and i literally been getting 80s for the last two weeks cuz i've been in a slump, so i was kinda questioning life lmaoo
Hello, my name is Omin, and I'm living in korea as a university student. Your video is really helping me study english , thank you!!. And I'am really wondering about the name of the timer app you're using😂. I'm looking forward to more great videos!!
What did I miss? I'd love to hear your own personal advice on becoming a better student
