@@NeanderMeander I own almost all that are available on the Switch. I don’t have Bioshock though. I think the Switch might be a good way to give it a shot. Turtles is my number one favourite collection though. Contra is amazing! The Capcom Arcade Stadiums are great! All the arcade archive games that come out each week…so many. When I got the switch day one I thought it would be a retro power house but when I saw no ‘virtual console’ I was so disappointed. Years later, it has become a retro power house in ways I never thought possible.
My gaming journey as a kid was the same as yours…grew up with NES and SNES but then my parents bought a PS1 and then a PS2 the Christmases those were out and therefore missed N64 and GameCube. I see so much hate for the 3D All Stars collection online but honestly it’s been great to finally get to experience those games. Playing through Sunshine now!
That’s awesome! I’m glad someone else had the same experience. I would have liked to have played N64 and GameCube games, but I’m happy I was able to get into those PlayStation games. The 3D All Stars Collection has been great for people like us. I’m not sure why it’s so hated.

I still cant belive game such as Dead Space, Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Dark Souls 2, Dragon Age and many other classics hacent been ported to the Switch. If Red Dead Redemption proved anything is that the Switch is a great home for games from the PS3 Xbox 360 era.

I played BioShock for the first time this year after making a painting for a friend. It's crazy how I missed out on this until now. It's amazing. I do love a great compilation cart but surprisingly we haven't bought many of them. It's not necessarily a purest thing but it's more to do with the fact that we have them OG and tend not to double dip too much.
That's awesome you played Bioshock for the first time this year! Have you played 2 and Infinite yet? I have a problem with double dipping. It seems like I do it way to often when these compilations come out. They are just so convenient. I don't currently have a game room, so having all these games available on the one console I have hooked up to my TV makes things so much easier. But I see where you're coming from. There's no need to spend money on something you already have.

freaken mario 3d allstars discontinued and price been going up quick.... and i never got it 😫 Question is, how does mario sunshine play with hosing and walking at the same time? it only worked with analog trigs. switch doesnt have analog trigs, is the gamecube controller the only option??
I bought the Super Mario Bros 3D All Stars Physical for my nephews and told my sister If they eger consider selling it, ask me first. It's price will probably go up over time.

I was just thinking the other how many geat compilations is on the Switch. It's one of my favorite features in the Switch library. I recently added the Taito Collection and Rocky and Poky.
Yeah, it's not ideal. I tried to stray away from talking about it in the video. I could make a whole other video all about that and how it's not good for collectors. But it's good to keep that stuff in mind.
Compilation of classic video game is a great way to share the history of the Gaming Industry with those you don't have or can't have those classic game. The Switch have this reputation to be a gaming system with a lot of Port, Remake, Remasterd, so have Compilation sound natural with the Switch.
I'm glad these companies are keeping their classics alive with these compilations. Those games will always be fun to play. Even if it's for just a few minutes at a time. You're right, the Switch is known for having many ports, remakes, and remasters. I'll think it's fitting that it has quite a few compilations. Thanks for watching!
From what I understand, it was because of a clerical error that Contra was absent during the Virtual Console era. I'm glad that whatever errors were made were eventually cleared up when they put out the Anniversary Collection.
Absolutely love Bioshock and I'm a big Borderlands fan too. I got the Borderlands collection and am over the moon with it, though the Bioshock collection I got on the xbox.
The Bioshock games are so good! Playing them for the footage in this video was so fun. I didn't want to put them down. I bought the Borderlands collection. I've never played them, but got a good deal on it. Are they good?
@NeanderMeander borderlands is a very unique game. You loot cool guns and shopt bad guys. Very low stress. The games dont take themselves too seriously, and they're very self-away. Great silly humour, and can be serious where it counts. Judging by the stuff you seem to enjoy, i think you'd like them! Borderlands 2 would 100% be the place to start, and its considered the franchise best by... everyone 😅
I really do like how we get to play games of the past on current gen consoles. Whether it be through a remaster, remake, or a simple port. And I would love to see more of these classic gems make return to current gen consoles since a miss out on them. And I might give the Castlevania collection a shot since I really enjoyed the anime. And it was such a crime for Nintendo to release the Mario 3D collection for limited time. All because of the release of the miniature sized consoles that each game was played on, and I doubt they made a lot of money. They should've just kept selling the game, and forget all about the mini consoles. So I hope that I'm lucky enough to find a copy of my own one day.

I'm not looking forward to an all digital future. I like having physical games. Not only because I get something when I pay for it, but because I like to film them. If I didn't have these games in physical form, my videos would be super boring. I try to work around it like I did with the Konami Arcade Collection and the Castlevania Advance collection, but that is very tricky to pull off. I have to get very creative when I do that direction. I hope this subscription trend fades off. I can't afford all of them. I cancelled Gamepass last year and have never looked back. It was great having it, but I can't justify spending so much each month to play a few hours of a couple of games. I also haven't purchased the Nintendo Expansion. It's just needless spending in my opinion. I do have the base subscription because I like having my saves backed up on the cloud. If that wasn't included, I would drop it as well. I like paying for games once and that's it. It's a tried and true method of game delivery we've had for half a century. I don't know why we've all of the sudden been okay with perpetually paying for things; movies, games, music... It really is crazy how we own nothing anymore. To answer your question, I think it will divide the gaming community. I think it's already happening.

The only thing that sucks about switch is that most of them have download codes. If they are complete on cart it’s worth it. Hence the new Metal Gear passes on the switch version and got it for ps5
I usually don't buy from them either. But these collections were must owns for me. I love Konami's classic games. I really wish Konami would distribute them by themselves rather than going through Limited Run, but unfortunately that's not the case. Thank you for watching!

It is weird that more games form that era haven't been ported over to it. They seem to run fine on the Switch. I would play them if they were on it.

The problem with the Switch version of Bioshock Collection is that not all the games are inside the cart from a collector perspective.
