Karen Davila is on the worst interviewers on TV. She really has a habit of cutting off her guests when they are speaking and would not allow them to finish. This is not the first time I saw on her show of her rude behavior.
This pastor is compromising by not embracing the truth about how the Lord created the other speaker when he calls him a "she" instead of a "he" referring to the other guy's original design. I think the pastor is wanting to please some group of people to avoid a strong criticism from the watching public. As Paul have said, "so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts" (1 Thess. 2:4)
I was a bit underwhelmed by the interview. It's mostly because of how Karen reveals so much of her biases and often uses it to 'lead' her guests and the viewers. She often complements the guest on the left about how a good speaker she is, but leads the guest on the right into saying something that is for same-sex marriage and very little about what scripture tells (which should be the point of bringing a protestant pastor to the interview). Then there's the title of the video. I didn't even know that the Ladlad party list representative was also a guest. I thought that it would just be another one of those interviews where they grill the guest. I wish the network posted the entire interview. The last part in which the ex-transgender guest was speaking was suspiciously cut-off, unfortunately. I was really interested in what he wanted to say to conclude his message.
Kai Karlo I think the pastor got his fair share. The host acknowledged his stand on gay marriage and gave his views on LGBT rights. I don't see the need of reading biblical verses for it is no brainer that scriptures are against same sex union. The show is not 700 Club Asia.

Hoping that Philippines will develop full tolerance and understanding of other people's lives. Sad that religion has blinded and created biases. I've seen hypocrisy in my family with in full support of the church and at the same time holding two different households. I feel for people living in silence due to intolerance of family. I don't like how Karen Davila hosted her program at this episode. How can she had an awkward interview while giving her bias input. She was so amazed by how Ladlad responded, she must have known transgender differences and campaigns before having this interview. Meanwhile, the host was trying to tell the Pastor that he was opposed with separation of the State and Church regarding marriage. Separation means respect also opposing view if the pastor and other Christian doesn't agree with same sex marriage. Anti discrimination law for gays, will put pastors at stake if they don't want to marry gay couples they will be sued. You should know that too!

Karen has annoying moments. When she gets frantic with her questions, it reveals her own personal biases and lack of prior research, she should calm down and stop cutting into her guests' sentences. I think in this interview they failed to clarify "marriage rights" and the ritual of matrimony. The pastor is not for gay matrimony, as in marrying same-sex couples in a church. But I think he is for same-sex civil union. In the Filipino psyche marriage, matrimony, and civil union are terms that are still interchangeable. But I like it when she puts the Binays on the spot, playing innocent enough to trick the Binay's in believing she isn't taking sides, neutral enough as it were, so as to keep them coming back for interviews.

The practice of being together with a spouse as "one" was not started nor invented by man but by God Himself. If this is the case then the LGBTQI people has no right to redefine the practice of marriage being clasically understood as the unity of male and female. I don't like how Karen Davila hosted her program at this episode. How can she had an awkward interview while giving her bias input. She was so amazed by how Ladlad responded, she must have known transgender differences and campaigns before having this interview. Meanwhile, the host was trying to tell the Pastor that he was opposed with separation of the State and Church regarding marriage. Separation means respect also opposing view if the pastor and other Christian doesn't agree with same sex marriage. Anti discrimination law for gays, will put pastors at stake if they don't want to marry gay couples they will be sued. You should know that too!
