- Hey guys welcome to my final Super Mario 3D All-Stars inspired video about the best Star/Shines in the collection!! I had tons of fun replaying these classics, especially Sunshine as I had only played it completely twice, and its really nice to have a copy of it! Hope you enjoy and please subscribe!

I'm glad to see that someone other than myself enjoys the motion controll levels. I find that most people find them annoying and gimmicky.
i only found the rolling levels really really annoying. The rest of them are actually good, especially the bubble mechanic. I have no idea why people hate the bubble blast galaxy. The lumas warn you that its gonna be tough, besides its a trial of your skill. And they give you a checkpoint at the 2nd planet anyways. Only the 2nd planet is actually hard, I found the 1st planet fun and easy

For me the best star in Mario Galaxy is Breaking into the Battlerock in Battlerock Galaxy. I love the part where you use the cannon to save a luma and the part where mario uses a launch star to fly away from an explosion. Also, like pretty much any songs in galaxy, the music is god-tier.
This is actually a pretty controversial list and I’m happy you took that risk instead of being the boring type of people that just go with what everyone else thinks

For the snowman star, you can backflip on top of the penguin, too, and the wind won't reach you.

I've honestly played the Bouldergeist level so much it's become the easiest boss in the game for me. Yes, even easier than Dino Piranha.
3:08 "the graphics in this level were way ahead of its time" this is true but let's be fair, the water you spray with F.L.U.D.D doesn't even show up in the mirror

i got the slide under 21 seconds by not diving, instead, holding foward the whole time
I just had to stop to chime in that the manta-surfing levels of Super Mario Galaxy are complete bullshit. I hate them. I thought the rolling ball levels were more challenging and utilized the motion controls in a much more productive way.
Also "Metal Mario can Move" is one of the more unremarkable stars from Hazy Maze Cave. I would've opted for any of the stars at the end of the hazy maze itself.
But that's part of the reason that these games work so well, because we all get a little something different from all of them. I'm waiting for new joy-cons to arrive (because the Switch Drift makes SMS borderline unplayable) but I appreciate the fact that you can find these levels I detest so fun. Mad respect

Snowman's Big Head : You can just unlock the cannon and use it to reach the top, of course it might take a few tries because the space to land on the top is very small but i got it on my 4th try

Eely mouth, spray the poison bubbles and they turn into clean air bubbles you can use for air meter. Avoids needed to grab coins
The star in hazy maze cave metal Head Mario can move is actually the one where he goes in the area with the big blue monster gets the metal cap and pushes that switch. It's not where he goes in the poison gas. ironically just the other day I made the same mistake thinking that was that star.
I think that Kingfin is the best Non-Bowser fight in any Mario game

So you have sirens beach episode one on both your best and worst shine/stars vids. Makes sense.
Edit Never mind that wasn’t worst star/shines. It’s just one of the hardest ones. Guess hard doesn’t always mean bad. That video just made me think of bad lvls cus there were so many on there.
As someone who plays mostly in handheld mode the motion control stages are just not fun. It’s better with the pro controller but only slightly.
That’s true galaxy is not optimized at all for handheld mode on the switch, it’s one major downside to the same and collect star bots is almost impossible

I would have put more levels for Mario Galaxy on here than Mario Sunshine 64 just because Mario Galaxy there's a lot more experience in levels then the first to 3D Mario games.

For once I actually (mostly) agree with a Copycat list. I can't judge it too well since I haven't played much of Sunshine yet, but the picks looked like ones to be excited for :) Although Snowman's Big Head was NOT fun whatsoever. And I'm glad someone likes Freezeflame as much as I do.
everyone likes freezeflame honestly. And it deserves that appreciation. Although I think the secret star and baron brr's missions are better than the final one

ikr! The bouldergeist level and hot/cold level were fun but most of his galaxy level picks were challenging and tedious.
I don't mind most of his picks. Except for Rolling Gizmo. I question the sanity of anyone who defends the rolling ball levels.

In my honest opinion, if this were a true listing of the top 15 best stars across these 3 games, none of them would be from Super Mario 64. I get that it was an influential game, it's just that the other 2 games are just so much better.
