Scraping your alloys and handling it well is amazing but I’m more impressed with how you could be in the car with her chewing her gum so loudly 😂 I would have lost it
Tip for anyone who struggles on hills. Do this: 1. Apply handbrake 2. Set the gas - use more than usual as it’s a hill 3. Get the biting point and hold it there 4. Release the handbrake and keep your feet still 5. As you move forward, lift clutch very slowly and accelerate more
@@josyms7849it is a useful skill, to have delicate enough clutch control to be able to move off from standstill with no throttle. Ideally it is something everybody should learn and practice. (Very modern cars have anti-stall technologies, making the vehicle very forgiving, so it is something that should first be mastered in older vehicles.) It is of significant benefit in low speed, and stop start traffic, where low RPM clutch only movement is less stressful to your clutch plates.
Yes, basically you need a more powerful biting point, essentially a higher biting point is what I call it, then once you set that, take the handbrake off and like magic the car stays motionless
Hey Pin, just wanted to say thank you - I had my driving test this morning and managed to pass first time with no faults at all (despite my nerves trying to convince me otherwise)and a large part of that came from watching your videos so thank you very much - to everyone else having a test - it’s not as bad as you might think and if you can just imagine that it’s a lesson and you’ll do really well. Thank you!
Hey Pin, I wanted to thank you! I am from Ireland so it's a bit different to do the tests here but still watched for the great tips and advice. I am delighted to say that I passed first time, thank you so much for what you do!
Heya Pin, Passed my driving test in 1st attempt with just 2 minors, many Thanks for the videos those helped a lot. I started my 1st lesson with a friend on Aug 9 and appeared the test on Sep 12. Just 20+ hours and lots of self learning helped me and your videos been absolutely helpful. Thanks again :)
Hey Pin, thank you for your videos! You saved me a lot of money on driving lessons. I had 0 driving lessons just ur videos on TH-cam and TikTok. I Passed my driving test first time with 2 minor faults. Cheers 🥂
I understand that she is nervous, but chewing gum when in someone’s company (especially someone who is being kind enough to help you) just seems so disrespectful to me. If she was discreet about it and did it quietly than this wouldn’t be so bad, though still rude. But she chews it SO loud and it’s awful! I’d of gone mad listening to that, so you have my full respect; hats off to you Sir!
It’s apparently a coping mechanism for nerves. I imagine she’s doing it because of that. I don’t ever chew gum but started for my lessons and my test. No biggie and it’s not disrespectful to instructors
I hope this video helps you pay for new alloys, this route doesn't look bad at all compared to what I've tackled in my local area with these awkward country roundabouts

It's dreadful when that happens, for all concerned. I had one lesson in particular when I just seemed to forget how to steer; I'd been perfectly competent previously but that day I was scraping my poor instructor's alloys on kerbs left, right and centre. (Well, left anyway.) He actually showed me what I'd done to his wheels afterwards and I was mortified, trust me! Still, then expression on Pin's face every time a learner scrapes his wheels makes for excellent entertainment. Keep suffering for our amusement, mate! :)
In most instances, fails are usually down to nerves and probably being in a car with someone you don't know. It's probably a good thing to have more than attempt, you at least go in the next time knowing what to expect, it just requires a bit of patience from yourself and the examiner/instructor, they aren't out to see you fail, they want you to pass. Just listen to what they tell you, watch for speed signs, and most importantly mirrors following the rule of thumb M.S.M mirror, signal, maneuver, *interior* mirror first always, remember that, and you'll be good.

I started driving 4 weeks ago, I've done 4 lessons, 1.5 hrs each week and I panic easily, I almost crashed on my third one and panicked and it felt awful, it wasn't really any of our faults because my instructor wanted to get me off a quiet street into some traffic and there was too much traffic and I'm still looking at the gear stick to change it and asking him if I can take my foot off the clutch yet because I am getting used to what it does, these videos are entertaining and help me know mistakes, and get me a better idea of what not to do, and I am realizing that I have probably made like 3-4 serious faults on my lessons today
@@Bulelwakoko I did a lot better in my 4th lesson today than my third where I had to hide my embarrassment for almost crashing, There are a bunch of idiots in the road tho, I learned that, today some guy thought it was a good idea to walk his dog on the pavement whilst he walked on the road, and then 2 guys thought it'd be a great idea to pull out in front of me when I have priority on the road and they dont use their indicators lol...

At 18:22 that sign is giving false information. It shows the right hand closed and left hand lane open in 100 yards but it is actually the other way around so technically she did follow the instruction of the road sign but did not see the actual cones early enough.
I think two things would improve her driving firstly her eye level is a bit low and raising the seat usually improves steering in terms of judgement. Secondly set the gas before finding the bite if you go too high on bite with no gas set there is not enough power to move the car particularly uphill.
I only passed a couple months ago but back when I had first started learning I was basically doing all this apart from touching the kerb I wouldn't even get close to it in my case.
