WRONG!! We have had many years of experience on this farm (50+) where we had to relocate wild ducks, or nests, even eggs, not just ducks but small birds as well. This year it was a nest of robins that fell over, dumping bald babies all over. I picked them up, shoved water and food down their throats as they were limp, relocated the nest to a more sheltered spot and then watched as an hr later the mom showed up, scolded me and took over. Babies just left the nest , this time when they should. That scent myth lingers and is good as it keeps folks from handling things they shouldn't, but trust the voice of experience here, we have handled all sorts of wild babies and never had an issue. Picking up the babies makes the job quick and safe much less stressful for mom and babies than trying to herd them.
Get a banana box and put the ducklings in it, walk slowly to the exit and the mother should follow it outside. It's OK to touch birds, the parents will not reject them. Though you should always wear gloves for your own protection.
Nooo! Better told them every two seconds to go to their Mum and stick them with the stick. Then follow them with three people and wave with the arms. And dont forget to film them from a distance of 50cm. Omg!

These people are pushing this mom duck to fast that her babies are having a hard time catching up with mom, all they have to do is guide her slowly to where they want her to go and she will do the rest but pushing her like they are will result in one of the babies getting hurt or confused, When my mommy duck had her babies 13 I let the mom just do her thing and take her time not push her the way these people are doing, bad mistake.

The school resource officers were already there, but students weren't. It would have been much harder to safely get the ducks out of the building if there were hundreds of kids walking around to and from classes.
