No wonder you are considered the safest pilot on You Tube. You were interrupted by a radio call with an incoming aircraft and you went right back to your checklist. You didn't get a "gotta get outta here before the other guy tries to land" anxiety and stuck with it. Really terrific work sir! You fly in a very important and dangerous environment doing God's work. Keep it up!
My dad was a pilot and we had our own plane for a while when I was growing up. One of the big rules was we stood well back from the aircraft quietly while dad was doing the pre-flight. If we shut down and left sight of the aircraft, it got pre-flighted again before we went on our way. He didn't trust refuelers either. He'd stick the tanks and make darn sure the caps were on properly (he found one loose on more than one occasion).
We just bought a Kodiak 900 and it gets delivered in November. I started training 2 weeks ago, I want to continue flying after I retire from British Airways in February
Wow, busy airstrip. I like the Cessna Caravan since I'm a Cessna guy. They are definitely a work horse. I'm still enjoying the coffee from PNG. Love it! Great flight video with IFR practice. Thanks & stay safe!
Another fantastic video Ryan. The experiences you have there in PNG are incredible and all while providing such needed service to the communities. I am always amazed at your professionalism and skill proficiency.
Was neat to see the processes and procedures for this flight. Half a century ago my Dad and Granddad were each pilots for a season or two of their lives; flying is both the same and different these days. 😄 Will go watch the village tour later this afternoon.
I got my PNG coffee today and had to make a cup, Wow! Thanks Ryan. I always enjoy seeing your videos. Amazing scenery. I should be out diving sometime soon just a bit to the south in Indonesia. Last year’s diving trip was Palau. That’s also a spectacular place.
Great to see the Caravan, I remember when they first appeared in Australia is the mid 80's. A show off model was sent to Bankstown Airport Sydney and the pilot quickly learned the forward visibility of the ground is very limited after he taxied it into a refueling bowser. It had a 3 bladed composite propeller, the blades looked like witches brooms.
Loved this flight. Would like for you to continue (audience preferences considered) any IFR flight videos you can provide. 20 Years ago I flew a Piper 28-161 from Laurel MD to Sao Paulo Brazil (& back) which was basically lots of IFR dead reconning, starting with initial fixes being low power NDB and an occasional VOR. I flew it at very low power settings and that's how I got the "legs" to get the distances. In that kind of flying, you really have to pay attention to everything.
Hi Ryan, That 'sinker on approach' looked exciting; but well caught. And yes, very happy with your content. Also, enjoying your 'on-the-ground' walkabouts. 🤠🙏🙏
Another great and interesting flight. I would enjoy more of the procedures. Maybe a 30 second chat with a local now and then. And particular things about your plane and how she flies better, like the wobble fix.👍👍
Thank you so much for putting this up, I now appreciate high elevation coffee even more and understood more of why they are expensive, not only because it is harder to grow, but they are grown on remote area that the most efficient transport mode is by plane.
GREAT!! I really enjoy the DETAILS of the flight. Even the ones I know nothing about!! LOL I learn every time I watch your channel. Thanks for another wonderful video. Loved it.
That was a really engaging video. I enjoyed the mental play by play of decisions and adjustment engaging with the flight technology and seeing all the safety processes and data on the maps. Zero flight knowledge here, but enjoy watching and getting a view of the profession through your videos.
I had bought Papua New Guinea beans sometime, they are amazing, so much to get it down and bring it to market, it's a great deal and wish it to be more popular, the sweetness on them is so good. Seeing how a batch of green bean was transported with such care made me appreciate it a lot more.
Another fine video Ryan - full of information and insight and as ever beautifully filmed and edited. I've finally got round to trying the RNAV-Y approach into Goroka. It took a lot of setting up given my simmulator's relatively simple GPS and autopilot arrangement, plus not being familiar with flying glideslopes I felt the need to do some do some basic mathematics to check the three percent descent rate. When executed it worked well enough but my autopilot/GPS seems better adapted to Dive and Drive rather than glideslope so for Goroka I'm still happy to use your Cloud Breaker procedure.
GREAT Video,,,, that is the way we fly here in Mexico... I do fly a T207 and I would like to Fly a kodiak. I love coffee ...an Italian Expresso will be amazing brewed with that coffee. amazing views of the montains.. my best wishes and great weather 4U. Peter
For those that don’t roast coffee, anybody can buy green coffee in the states for around $6 per pound. Each pound of green once roasted would sell for around $30, there is weight lost in roasting. I don’t do purchasing, but I would guess at this stage in its journey the coffee is only worth $2/pound at most.
@@MissionaryBushPilot It is baffling - on visits to central India on warm sultry evenings we'd be very comfortable wearing thin short sleeved tops in January yet would see locals wearing padded jackets! Never did decide if it was a fashion thing or they felt the "cold".
Trivia: The boxes, velocity vector combined with flight director is sometimes referred to as Highway in the Sky (HiTS). It was developed for general aviation aircraft by the NASA Advanced General Aviation Transport Experiment (AGATE) project. It was demonstrated in the early 2000's. NASA AGATE also developed the certification basis for PFD and MFD in GA.
A question! I "fly" in and out of Goroka a lot (simming) - why is it a one way airfield as there seems to be plenty of room (especially on 17R) for a southerly approach? Is it just because of the downslope???

yep-I noticed the same thing.
thanks

True professional that loves what he does it becomes instinct and part of your character. 😊
Hello from USA. Where is the source of the coffee and do they export large quantities? PRICE of roasted and green per tonnage? ❤
Hello, yes I like the loading preparation.
Enjoyed the IFR practice run and the busy traffic at origin field. Take care Ryan.
Great Coffee Express Run ...
An Olde House Master Flew in PNG then joined NZ Civi Accident Section ...

These are great videos, Ryan. Praying for you, your family, and your missionary work!
Great job. Ultra pro in very challenging conditions. Best flying school ever....!and pilot. Bravo and keep safe.
Missionaries go to where the Lord sends them and sure they take their family with them. No big deal for them but some people don’t understand it
Thanks a lot!
Excellent video and yes on loading and or unloading ! Nice to see the villagers helping you .
Love the IFR approach. Learn a lot from the breakdown of decision making. This helps, even outside of aviation.
Great video! I appreciate all of the communication and the visual queues along the way! 🙏
"coffee" lol
totally not some snow

I did enjoy seeing the locals loading the coffee. Any interaction with the locals is always interesting.
Happy 49th Independence Papua New Guinea! Looking forward for the brighter days to come our way
Great video as usual my friend... not sure how you cope with such stunning scenery... you work in heaven...
Wow all what you and college are doing in this business is great to see. Thanks for showing, JR.
Good video Ryan. Greetings from central Texas (1T7). Love starting my Sundays watching your weekly video.
Great video thanks Ryan! Yes, more behind the scenes and logistics please!! 👍🏻💪🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely perfect video…loved the approach..keep doing what you’re doing…old 707 driver.
Another fantastic video Ryan. The experiences you have there in PNG are incredible and all while providing such needed service to the communities. I am always amazed at your professionalism and skill proficiency.
That's a good view of your life on the ground and a good IFR landing lesson. That helps me with my Simulator. Thank you , good say 😊
Good morning from Minnesota USA! Great episode!
Excellent drone work, with that landing plane. 😍
I love the behind the seens. I'd watch an hour long video of seeing what all you do in a day. Of course, a lot work for you to put that together.
Great show once again. Very professional.
Another stunning PNG video, awesome work Ryan😊
Enjoyed the weight and balance considerations and your Instrument approach thoughts. Great video! Thank you!
Good flight as usual Mr.Ryan. Greeting from Vietnam
Wow, I would fly with you anywhere, anytime! Thanks for the ride, terrific explanation of working with the aircraft when, why, apply!

what kind of coffee is it?
A weak autopilot? Again, I learned something new! Also, really cool drone shot of the MAF landing!
It was really busy for you in this video for you it was good to see something different this time.

Yes, love the behind the scenes videos.
beautiful video.. well done again. Glad to see God has blessed you with and amazing office!
Great ride- thank you. Love hearing your thought processes as you plan ahead for the various oars of the flight. Great tool that buddy box.
Great video. Would be neat to see some coffee processing in the future..
Keep up the good work!
Thank!! From Cuba 🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺
Hi Ryan
Great video
Beautiful scenery from the kodiak windows on the mountains & meanders
Thanks for sharing
Stay safe

Thanks Ryan. Always enjoy

Sept 16th 2024 -- 49 years of Independence -- shout out to Papua New Guinea
I could watch these vids all day, you're attention to detail is epic
Let's do one on driving a car around locally?? 🤣😂😅

Man, that's basically a pallet of Gold at $10 a lb. at local grocery self serve bag your own.
Cheers

Thank you! I've always wanted to look at the comparisons between the Kodiak and the 208 because I thought they're the same aircraft.
Ryan, how about letting us meet other missionaries and a few of your fellow aviators & ATC folk if they are willing?
Loved the content, that PNG coffee is good stuff………Roger
Tremendous video. Thanks. 🇺🇸🍀🇺🇸
Hey can we get a Garoka tour someday? Really appreciate your effort on these vids! They're incredibly entertaining and informative!
Coming soon on my new second channel
@@MissionaryBushPilot nice!!! So excited for that
I love your content and also love the Timelapse you do at the end of your videos ❤ keep it up 👍
Hi Ryan
How about a tour of the village. The people look like a happy group of friends. I trust you get a good price for the coffee
I did one here just 2 weeks ago.
Wonderful !

Great job captain. Your editing skills are top notch. If you, ever need a safety pilot fly up to Hartford, CT and pick me up. 😂
I am sure it must have smelled great inside the plane!
It hasn't been cooked yet, so it doesn't smell like a cup of coffee
That was great!
the Garmin interface has a remarkable resemblance to Starfox on the SNES.
Wow the community got an air show on this gorgeous day. Would it be unusual to have three aircraft at the same time?
Not very often do 3 aircraft show up at the same time to any bush location in PNG
LOVED IT
Did I see someone loading your plane wearing a PARKA??? That is CRAZY!!!
it confuses me too!
@@MissionaryBushPilot It is baffling - on visits to central India on warm sultry evenings we'd be very comfortable wearing thin short sleeved tops in January yet would see locals wearing padded jackets! Never did decide if it was a fashion thing or they felt the "cold".
Enjoyed the flight.
Can you feature the ATC on one of your vids he’s got such a chilled vibe to him

Having an Airshow there mate….🤣
God bless you for helping the people
just wow!
I hope you get a good price on JetA. That can't be cheap hauling coffee beans for the locals.
Coffee, huh?
Good. Thanks.
Mi amamas long lukim ol manmeri bilong Papua Niugini.
how is such small village able to produce so much coffee quickly
Damn you're a baddie 👏🏼😊
Brilliant safe flying - G-BBKZ
Hot, humid, heavy...yeah I can see why the plane didn't exactly jump into the air. 😉
AU here NSW nice indeed, another day in the office. Checked out the PNG coffee its not shipped 2 Australia ?
no, unable to do a cost effective way to ship coffee overseas
Man, I'd love to order some of the coffee you guys offer, but the shipping being 3x the cost of a bag is crazy.
Holy cow! Who didn't need to fly in & out there? 🤭
I want to see it all
I’ve always wondered, what’s the point for the max ZFW be higher than the MTOW?
'Ropes' are what cowboys call them, mariners call them 'lines.'
A question! I "fly" in and out of Goroka a lot (simming) - why is it a one way airfield as there seems to be plenty of room (especially on 17R) for a southerly approach? Is it just because of the downslope???
Yes. In years past there used to be 100' trees at the top of the runway, but since have been cut down
Any chance of seeing the people we hear at ATC?
Clicking into this video reminded me of American Made lol
HIIII
Fun video to watch thanks Ryan 😄
hey Ryan i do a lot of riding here in the Prescott national forest which is awesome, when are we going to see videos of the trails in PNG?
When I finish fixing my motorcycle engine. Waiting on parts
