Congrats to you both, I went through the same process 11 yrs ago. My mental test was done at some hospital where they asked me about 3 or 4 easy questions and the doctor signed my papers, no medical test at all. Now the part I KNEW WAS COMING: When we took all the final work to get or marriage license the marriage office said it was wrong (denied it), went out into the parking lot where a guy says he fixes the paperwork, he charged $200, he calls the same guy we were denied by on his cell phone and tells us to go back in and see him, APPROVED, Sign the marriage paper. By the way there wasn’t anything wrong with the papers in the first place. Picked up or marriage certificate about 5 days later. Your married the day you signed the paper and your Viet Traditional wedding date is just that. Best wishes to you both!
Our wedding in Vietnam. We had 500 guests. My parents were the only ones for me. Funny thing is with the reception, I didn't get to eat. You have to go around and visit every table while they eat, was crazy. But was awesome
Yes easy I found it my hardest part was dealing with my own government in Australia before going to Vietnam to get married now you wifey after 15 months of not seeing her has visa and will be in Western Australia in 19 March and April 3 out of quarantine on that date

@fatandbroke, Congulation for you got married in Vietnam. May I ask, if you can recall that Vietnam People District office required your Single Status of affidavit to APOSTILLE? I'm assuming you were obtained your Single from the US embrassy right?
Is it a walk in no appointment needed ? For celibacy certificate
Regarding the single status affidavit in order to marry in Vietnam, do I have to get the document from the US state I'm residing or can the Vietnam foreigner single status affidavit work the same?

Vung Tau is great. You should go there. The beaches and people are great, too. Since you're in the Pasteur District, check out the restaurant called The Elbow Room. They have some real tasty American style food there, if you ever get tired of eating Pho.

If your bachelor or single certificate is made 8 months ago.does a man can get marriage ot the vietname government accept that certificate??
@@qasimullah6253 - Yes, if the document is notarized at the Vietnam Embassy. Just make an appointment and pay the fees. From what I remember it's $25.
@@briannolan7818 but it has been mentioned that it should be under 6 months otherwise it will be considered expired

This guy makes it sound easy, I have been struggling with the paperwork for 3 weeks, you need certificate of mental health, certificate for proof of being single, visa status saying your intention, letter from DFAT if your from oz, a consulate appointment that must be booked in advance for the government stamp, also all paperwork must have duplicated in Vietnamese, and notorised before your application process begins, good luck, I've never felt so confused about it, I'm considering just hire a lawyer
@@ricksummerfield784 took me less then 2 hours total to do everything. But I have a wife who knows how to look up what to do and get things done. I just needed to go-to consulate get the letter. Then take to the duplicate store 8 mins away on foot have them duplicate and notorize. Pick up the next day. Went to the hospital on district 5 main drag took 15 mins doctor asked me my name. Gave that stuff to my wife. Then we filed in her district waited a week and done. It is very easy and not complicated at all

@@13691john Embassy in Saigon and then get it translated and attested into Vietnamese. You will need to be there to swear the affidavit.

@@mikeblevins327 Sounds like you are almost at the finishing line. Once you submit it will take around 15 working days.
They will probably find problems with submission etc. Try not to worry about it, it's not uncommon and they are probably looking for a sly expediting fee.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Been married to a Viet girl for 15 years now . Keep in mind that you will be expected to pay for the entire wedding. That is tradition in Vietnam for the groom to pay for the wedding. My mother in law managed to run up a 10.000$ USD. Bill for the wedding. Even though my in laws are quite wealthy I’am expected to pay money to them every month it started at 250 $ USD. And now is 1.000$ USD. Although my wife is a wonderful woman it’s quite expensive to marry a Viet girl. All that being said I would marry her again. She is worth every penny. The 5 year visas are great.
