I’m utterly fascinated and in awe of the depth of passion that goes down through the leagues in UK. This is 5 tier of footy. It’s mental. Who gives a toss about premiere league. 3 out of 4 footy codes in Aus couldn’t pull that crowd on a given match day for their top tier show. Lol. I know this is a promotion play off but it’s national league! I say that with utter respect not dissing.

@@jpvuelma there are 4 football codes. Rugby, Rugby League, AFL and for those that play it or support it - football, but yes those outside of the game usually refer to it as soccer for the most part. But clubs and the governing body Football Australia refer to it as football. That said our national team is called the Socceroos. So it’s a bit interchangeable. Over time it’s been changing to Football from soccer.

A week after being there, and watching John Bostocks freekick. The keeper did nothing wrong. That was a damned good low, horrible freekick. The one thing I am looking forward to though. We won't have the same summarises next season. They just apoint blame, not look at good play.

He didn't "save it", he got a touch on the ball, but barely changed the trajectory, and took out the player, who may have been able to run onto the ball and score.

Like this it's easier to analyse: how fast is the player, where is he moving to, what is his heart rate like etc. Is that manly enough for you? I bet you need a milk crate to stand on to wash your car.

He’s said himself, he chips it because noone is expecting it, and seeing as the keeper dived, he wouldn’t have gotten to it if it were low enough.

Good job you’re not in charge then! Made it to extra time because of him and he was the best player on the pitch. Every penalty he’s taken as a pro was a panenka, and that one is the only one he’s missed and the keeper still dived the wrong way.
Here's a couple of ideas during penalty shoot-outs. 1. At the start, the goal keepers get an automatic yellow card (wiped out immediately after the game). That means any delay tactics means an automatic red card. 2. The penalty is taken when the kicker is ready, not the goalkeeper. As soon as the kicker is ready, they signal the referee, who blows the whistle. If the goalkeeper is not ready, tough luck. Kick stands.
Penalty kicks are already difficult enough for a goalkeeper to save. A professional player should be able to cope with gamesmanship. Don’t rob them of that. The referee blows his whistle to allow the kick to be taken when he is ready, it’s not reliant on either or both players being ready.
Hard to argue that Notts didn’t deserve that after their performance in the regular season.
