As a fellow Floridian (born in Miami, now living in Jville) I highly recommend a portable AC unit or, if too much, a mini dehumidifier.
Hate humid weather....hot and dry.....use a tent fan.

I like the soft tops. Fl sun will damage anything. Easy to replace the cover. Hard tops, Most covers can’t be replaced once sun damaged

I would have to measure it but probably only about 6-8 inches

Yes I actually have the dimensions from when I was looking at upgrading the mattress the length is 78” front to back and there’s two widths towards the back it’s wider and gets narrower towards the the front so the wide part is 57 and 1/2 wide and the narrower part is 44 and 1/2

How do you pack it when it gets wet?

Close it up and make sure to open it when you get where you’re going or when you get back home as long as it doesn’t stay closed too long
