    You’re absolutely right when it comes to accomplishing your goals!! Anyone who has the will power can do it!! Congratulations on that!! My husband and I are planning our retirement soon,we are in our early 50s and want to make our dreams come true and live in Mexico! We absolutely love Playa Del Carmen or our home town in Michoacán ..we invested early on 30 years ago and bought a huge property and that has made everything so much easier for our future 😊

      @@sergiolandz6056 hey my friend! I agree. I started mowing lawns at 10 years old and graduated to commercial tree farming by 17 and organic farming by 25… But a body can only take so much and I did my fair share. I'm in same situation as you, just a few years behind you. Someone would think we r related. We think alike. I drive a 20 year old Ford Ranger & love it. I'm not getting a new vehicle until this one dies on me or gets totaled. I pay well below market rate for rent because the place is old & 1/2 way between a studio & 1br. Made a deal w/ landlord that i will take care of everything inside & bring all my own appliances.

    • @theropemonster
      @theropemonster  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s so awesome Adam, I literally just got done telling my dad a few weeks ago: “if I had to buy another vehicle, it would be an old Ford Ranger” 🤠. Why not buy the depreciating assets, once they’ve already depreciated!
      Smart move on negotiating with your landlord and thinking differently than most! You never know if you don’t try. Thanks for the ongoing support of the channel, my friend! 📈🇲🇽🏝️😎

    I'm on an early retirement plan in the next 5 years. Goal is 750k in savings/investments which should provide me with $37k at a 5% flat return per year. $37k a year is totally doable in Playa right?

    • @theropemonster
      @theropemonster  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Absolutely! Middle class in Mexico is considered $18,000-$22,000mxn pesos/month. That’s only about $1k/month USD… so you’d be 3x that!
      I actually challenged myself for 3 straight months to live on $900/month in Playa and was able to do it just fine! Here’s a link to the video I did on that! Thanks for the great question and for watching! Best wishes on reaching your early retirement goals 😎🇲🇽📈

    wow 353 usd studio in pdc ?! is that price pretty common? i would love to find something like that , is that electric included ?, your 70% savings rate is epic, i think the best ive done is about 40 % but much lower in other years, im definitely going to shoot for that 70 in the future lol ! great advice in the video !

    • @theropemonster
      @theropemonster  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yea 70% doesn’t come easy lol but I still managed to enjoy the hell out of life during those times too! $6,500mxn or $350US is NOT common but can still be found in Colosio. $550 or so is fairly common but can include a rooftop pool and laundry in some cases! The electricity is the ONLY utility not included in my studio but it’s surprisingly cheap per kw/h in that neighborhood. My ac runs all night and whenever I’m home and it’s like 550-700pesos every two months. Dirt cheap. Thanks for checking out the video and for the great questions!

      5% is a nice return for sure and CDs can be a nice addition to a portfolio, but generally I think there are better returns to be had on dividend paying stocks and ETFs if you make sure to buy with a margin of safety (pay less than what you think it’s worth).
