    I think Poco made some claims that they increased the cooling solution of this phone, but the vapor chamber seems more or less identical in size to the one in the x3 GT. No wonder this phone doesnt really perform well in terms of thermals, the D8100 is more or less left thermally unsupported.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The vapor chamber is longer in length, however the X3 GT looked to have more thermal paste in between the frame and the copper heat transfer tape on the back of the board. The X4 GT has a good amount of thermal paste underneath the copper tape between the processor and the copper film, but not so much between the film and the frame.

      @@adrianjuliano9744 Unless you need the headphone jack, I think the F3 is still a better deal overall, especially if you can still find one on sale. The F3 has the worse camera of the two, but you can install GCAM mod to get better processing for your photos(since the X4 gt has a mediatek chip, gcam will likely not work).

    Since the charging board is removable, do you think it is possible to make a diy upgrade from usb 2.0 to usb 3.2? I often plug my Poco X4 GT into my PC, and the transfer speeds are slow, not to mention hdmi adapters not working. I've heard that the chipset would limit the speeds, but since the entire sub board is removable, could this be circumvented?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure since I'm not an expert in electrical engineering but I would assume just changing the port alone would not work since there are controller chips regulating it as well either on the sub board itself or the main board.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it would make too much of a difference for the back, since mainly the thermal paste will come into play for transferring the heat to and through the frame not so much the copper tape and graphite film on the back.

    Also if some paste is left over, can I apply it over camera and battery?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure how much, usually they sell them in standard amounts which is more than enough for any application. However I wouldn't apply thermal paste to areas that it doesn't need to be like the battery and camera. Depending on each thermal paste compound, some are more conductive than others and if they leak into areas that you don't want them to be, they can short the phone or damage components.
