I actually really like this movie. I hope they release the 3 hour version, as I’m sure it would have a lot more character development cause it does move pretty fast. Still liked it though!
The best SALEM'S LOT was the 1979 miniseries. However, the best Kurt Barlow was Rutger Hauer in the 2004 miniseries, with Rob Lowe as Ben. This was more faithful to the book than Son of Nosferatu.
Thanks, Adam and Denis! 🧛♀ I'm so glad y'all enjoyed this. I liked it, found some elements to be very effective. I read and loved the novel in grade school, loved the original mini-series from 1979 and enjoyed the mini-series from 2004. If I could do a mash-up of all the bits that nailed what I find intriguing about the story, it'd be a miracle. Alas, the perfect version is yet to be produced. Hopefully, it will within my lifetime.
I'm not being mean, but it's fun when the jump scares get you both 😂 I'm not sure if you've seen it or are interested, but Blair Witch (2016) is *loaded* with jump scares.
I understand an hour of extra footage was cut it would probably make the movie flow better and fill in a lot of the blanks. It may be old and a bit dated but the OG 1979 version is superior.
Salem's Lot is the first book I ever read by Stephen King and it's always been my favorite. They should have broken this up into 2 movies like they did with IT. All things considered it was ok.
They did make changes to the book, the one I disliked the most was all the vampires gather together at the drive in theatre, the book they just rested in the empty houses the storm drains, basements and cellars.
Pretty decent movie. Don’t listen to the negative Nellie’s, they are way off base. This was an atmospheric creepy vampire movie. And that is not Homelanders son, this is his younger brother, both are actors.
The thing that didn’t make any sense in this movie is how morning came and they realized all the vamps were at the movies and they literally wait until right before sun down to fight them even knowing that sunlight is their weakness…The ONLY smart one was the little kid
You can tell it took them a couple years to make this movie..look at Mark the little kid at beginning of the movie then middle of movie hes changed like growing then by the end of the movie he looks like he's 13 vs early in movie he looks 10...just pay attention to it.
Y liked the new CGI flying vampire kid. And the population turned into vampires drive in scene. The drive inn part I don't think was in the original book. I know it wasn't in the excellent original Nov 1979 two-part TV movie/mini-series. I still love the original much more much better cast in the original, music and the main vampire was a real actor made up scaring as hell too. This version's CGI vampire looks really bad. And it's just lot gorier. Tobey Hooper really delivered a great TV movie version in 79. And he was well known for gory horror movie.
Unfortunately, movie studios are doing this more often now. Making a movie, and then not releasing it so they can use it as a tax break. Meanwhile, there is what may be a perfectly good film going to waste, that nobody will ever see. I know recently Warner Brothers did this with the Batgirl movie. It most likely will never be seen by the public. I'm glad Max agreed to show this on their platform. I like it myself, in spite of the mixed reactions.
In comparison to the 1979 Tobe Hoopers mini series this was horrendous. Too short no character development especially the Marsten house and way to much CGI!! It makes sense that it was on the shelf for 2 years!
I don't know how you guys were even guessing in the first place! It was extremely obvious in the very beginning when Striker pays the guy to leave the crate in the Scary house's basement and Barlow almost snacked on them. You guys should've known just by that, so that is on you guys. God, so many of your guys guesses were way off lol

I love the movie, I feel like people are being way too hard on it. It's just a fun vampire movie.
Loved this flick, lots of fun

I'm so tickled when they scream😂
the main character in this movie will also play as SENTRY in upcoming movie THUNDERBOLTS
Oh and one more thing if you haven't seen The Gren Mile you should check it out. Peace!
This vampire looks a lot like the vampires in, Thirty Days of Night!
39:37 lol same reaction , I hope you can react to the new movie "its what inside",is Totally incredible 😸

Yes there were cars in the 1970’s
The book is much, Much better, but given only having a two hour canvas to cover it this movie did what it could to deliver.
This film is set in 1975, folks. The same year the original novel takes place.
I give it a pop I watched this last week I didn’t think it was that bad I do think the original is scarier
Salem's Lot is the first book I ever read by Stephen King and it's always been my favorite. They should have broken this up into 2 movies like they did with IT. All things considered it was ok.
That’s not the kid from the boys that’s actually his twin brother i look it up i thought it was him too lol
They did make changes to the book, the one I disliked the most was all the vampires gather together at the drive in theatre, the book they just rested in the empty houses the storm drains, basements and cellars.
Which made it creepier cuz I covers the "they're everywhere". Even at end of 2004 remake it shows the come out of bushes, storm drain and dumpsters
Pretty decent movie. Don’t listen to the negative Nellie’s, they are way off base. This was an atmospheric creepy vampire movie. And that is not Homelanders son, this is his younger brother, both are actors.

You really need to watch the tv version from 1979

The original Salem's Lot is the best vampire movie ever made. This remake is a pale imitation.
Exactly... Even 2004 was better than this cheesy offering...
I gave this a watch the other night and did not care for it at all unfortunately. I'll stick with the original mini series.

Please also react to Bordello of Blood movie. ❤
This version, though 'watchable,' didn't have me jumping at all; not anything like the 1979 version did!
Pandemic delays slowed production 😢
No joke, the overreaction to jump scars is 99 percent 😅
I heard that this was not a good Stephen King movie as it was shelved for two years after they filmed it due to tax incentives
The story moves along quickly for a 2 hour movie, but the acting and editing are completely off, the CGI looks cheap & the climax is over in a flash.
I think if the makeup team had a higher budget and if the vampires' eyes were black instead of glowing, it would have improved the movie a lot.
It was the worst movie I've seen since Open Water
Oh, this one looks just good to me.
Unfortunately, movie studios are doing this more often now. Making a movie, and then not releasing it so they can use it as a tax break. The lil black kid got more kills than fkng blade my god what a chad. Finally a kid in horror movies that is really smart and cool
I agree he was needy yet brutal ..like Steve urged meets the lost boys lol
Older on is better

Really....another remake? At least the Original low-rent, small budget, creepy charm.
And seriously.....you knew nothing of the other films?
Please stop saying OH MY, after the thousand time it’s irritating
