IT is only two chapters because the book tells two stories: the story of the children and the story of the adults. It’s a massive novel, over 1,000 pages, but it’s absolutely brilliant! The prequel will be incorporating events from the novel, as well, that weren’t explored in the films. There’s a BUNCH of lore and history and even side plots that weren’t featured here! Also, to give you some closure (because it’s explained in this film): Pennywise is an extradimensional being who came to earth from outside time and space!
Pennywise is a shapeshifter. IT can take form in any way it wants. Man, woman, creature... anything. It feeds off of your fears and your subconcious. Whatever way it can get to you, it will become. Also, side note: there are a ton of easter eggs in the background of Pennywise watching them (posters, etc) in this film and the one prior to this.
Pennywise isn’t necessarily a shapeshifter, although he has the ability to shift into the forms of their fears. It’s actually a Glamour, an extradimensional being who came to earth from a void outside time and space.
The fact that two adults can sit down, and watch this movie in full, then walk away having no idea that Richie is gay and in love with Eddie really makes me question the state of media literacy in this country
loved this reaction, richies secret was that he’s gay and he was in love with eddie, still upset he didn’t get the chance to tell him! and i also agree on the beverly, ben, and billy situation but im assuming billy knew that kissing beverly was wrong because he has a wife so he just brushed it off? idk
It explained how pennywise came to be in Derry. It showed it in this movie. It's a shapeshifting creature from another universe that landed via the asteroid. People tend to call It an alien because of this but it's said that It is older than time itself.
Fun fact: the guy that they originally thought was ben (the overweight one), was actually the same actor who played Ben in the original IT miniseries (1990)!
So the shop keeper who sold Bill his bike back was Stephen King who wrote IT and then a lot of people say his “endings suck” so that was the joke an why they kept saying it to Bill. That was a great cameo
@@phtevenj agreed. while some moments are definitely hokey (like the refrigerator running gag), his clown seems much safer to kids. Which I like because then once they get close enough and he switches it’s very jarring. Whereas Skarsgard’s clown is scary from a distance… don’t understand why so many kids walked up to him lol
The amount of times i watched this video just so i can watch their reaction on the hot version of ben is uncountable. I love your videos and keep making more!! Also a recommendation: IT 1980 version. It shows a little more visual of pennywises background. ❤
I'm late to this reaction, but I wanted to let you guys know that IT's origins are shown in the sequence where Mike is talking his interactions with the Native American tribe. On the artifact that Mike has, a meteor is shown crashing and then they start the images of IT as a monster. IT's actually an alien that crashed landed on Earth. I don't remember how he became the clown, but in the original book, the alien monster looked more like a spider than anything else. Also, it was able to influence the people in the town to make them forget or ignore things, so that they wouldn't leave. IT had to have people around to feed off of, after all. Derry is a fictional town that is used as the location for a lot of Stephen King's writings. .
I think the clown form is probably a fairly recent (well, recent in terms of Pennywise's extremely long lifespan), probably sometime in the 18th - 19th century's. It saw something that some kids were scared of, and decided to mimic it. In the original book, near the end, there are a few chapters which are from Pennywise's point of view. In one of them, it mentions how the clown form is its favourite guise.
I love your guys' reactions!! You two are hilarious!!! The movie was filmed here in Port Hope Ontario, Canada!!! The prequel show 'Welcome to Derry' is also being filmed here as well. And they do have a Dairy Queen :P If you guys are interested I posted a short video on my channel (it's the latest video) where me and my friends walked around the set and showed off a few things!! It was cool to rewatch these with you two because I was able to spot and point out certain landmarks in the films!! I'm glad you guys enjoyed these films!!
Great reaction as always guys! I'm looking forward to you guys hopefully being able to eventually react to the Pennywise show, if possible. I'm excited to watch it myself. Eddie, Richie and Beverly have always been my favorites of the group. I love them so much. You guys should really watch the 90's miniseries version of IT. It stars Tim Curry and it's pretty good. If possible, you can watch that before you get to the show that's coming out in 2024. Just an idea, of course. 🙂
“It” aka pennywise is like a alien/monster from a different dimension who escaped from prison I think. And people who read the books and seen all movies/tv shows is connected him to other stories of them.
I hope someday we see the bird scene from the book. Its micheal if i remember right and hes chased by IT as a giant rodan type bird monster at the explosion site metioned in the first movie.
Movie recommendation for you to react to: HOST (2020), British horror film that takes place entirely on a computer screen, with scary and unpredictable moments, you will enjoy.
The guy (light red hair) we saw just before actual Ben was the actor who played teen Ben in the TV mini serie. (You should watch it). My favorite is Ben in the TV serie and in the new one I like him too + Eddie And of course the guy who sold the bike to Bill is Stephen King.

Yay! Been waiting for this. Love your reactions 😍 Btw have y'all seen Squid Game? P.S. The actor that plays grown up Eddie is in both Sinister movies, which I hope you add to the list 😏 The first one had Ethan Hawke and they were brothers in The Black Phone 😉
So I've read the novel a few times, and the TV series came out when I was 3 and Tim curry's pennywise scared me so much I passed out. But yeh im obsessed. But I think there's still a lot left up to interpretation...and I still don't always get it. Stephen King also didn't quite get it...he wrote amazing books but when he was questioned about what some of his books in the 80s meant he was like 'look...i had some problems with cocaine back then...I don't always know what I was writing...'
This was a sad movie as well my least favorites about this movie were the fact they weren’t as close as they got older they’re all full of ptsd as they’re still suffering from the trauma from their childhood also pennywise killing the young man in the beginning I thought it was so unnecessary I was angry n distraught. Still a good movie though.
The Adult Casting Was Very Spot On, This Movie Not The Best But It's Still An Okay.. Movie Anyway Loved The Reaction As Usual And Excited For More Vids 👍❤️
Okay, so the films actually refrained from revealing what Pennywise was quite deliberately because the book's explanation is absolutely bonkers. Essentially, Pennywise is an ancient alien entity that thrives on devouring fear. Earth is also being protected by Pennywise's nemesis that is also an ancient alien entity, but it comes in the form of a giant tortoise. And to be fair, Stephen King was higher than giraffe pussy when he wrote It, resulting in this wild story. Obviously, Hollywood looked at that and said "Hell no. Best we can do is hint at this by showing turtles here and there across the films." Which they did. Oh, and to explain Bev's kiss with Bill, while hooking up with Ben... So in the book, King had the kids participate in a group orgy. Well, not an orgy, per se, but all of the boys end up having sex with Bev. That was _definitely_ not going to be included in the film adaptations, so instead we get a confusing polyamorous situation with no real resolve. So... Yeah.
I'd love to see you guys watch czsworld's history of Pennywise to learn more about It! I think you guys would enjoy the show, even if you don't film the reactions
Not a fan of part two though it does have it's moments at times. It just goes too far from the book and it annoys me slightly that they did that. Pennywise isn't a person IT never was it's the darkness of the universe and feeds on fear. It was created with the Turtle who represents the light of the universe and the good side of things. It was fun to see Stephen king himself as the store owner that Bill talks to.
@@MBG.426 I never said they had to add the turtle thing into the movie I just said part two dissapointed me is all plus it didn't scare me as much as part one did as well.
I loved the first one, but hated the 2nd one, so much that I walked out of the cinema not even half way through the movie which is something that I’ve never done before. It was just too much to believe that IT didn’t scare them enough in the first movie to kill any of them and then adding more scary scenes of them being young was just too lame

I liked the first one because according to IT’s lore he always killed pretty much everyone, but in the movies he barely killed anyone even though he clearly had the power to do so
No there was de-aging because the kids went through puberty between the movies, so they're faces changed so they had to de-age them for the flashbacks.

The adult casting was so good for this! Everyone looked like the younger version of the characters! Such a good cast
Actually thought, especially Eddie and Richie. I’d say it’s the best casting of kid to adult.
