Their life there is better for them than it is in their home countries and they have made the choice that if a deal with the devil is what it takes to stay in 'Wonderland' then they will do it to the best of their ability. This kind of drive to stay comfortable when the other possibility is a mediocre normal life in your home country doesn't just apply to the people who became modern-day Edgar Snow. It also applied, for a time, to guys like C-milk and SerpentZA. The only difference was they at least had the balls to try and make serious content, which put them in the crosshairs of local governments.

郭杰瑞这种类型的人，我自认是比较能看得懂的，因为我自己性格上跟他也有相似的地方。你说他可能是为了向父亲证明什么，我觉得没什么道理，out of nowhere。如果是带有这种很强的目的性，最开始就很容易看得出来，但事实是早期郭杰瑞的视频的气质很有玩票性质，是那种他自己也没觉得会火，随便做一步看一步的感觉。
要我说，郭为何走到今天这一步，他做事的内在驱动力是什么，其实道理很简单。诚如你所说，郭根本不在乎中国，不在乎中国人，他无心也无意去做什么维持与粉丝的联系啦，精进中文啦这样的事，这是很容易看得出来的。但同样的，难道他就在乎美国人吗，在乎犹太人吗，我想他也是不在乎的。另，也如你所说，郭也并非那种很追求名利的人，那他做事的理由就只剩下一个，那就是这件事本身就很有乐趣，很好玩。

Once you know chinese and chinese culture you won't watch CCP tools. What draws me to watch you and laolei are curiosity and intellectual honesty. And that's what i value more than anything else.
Unfortunately, Information accessibility is just one of the obstacles; many Americans have free access to the internet, yet they choose to believe the lies and rumors. People like 郭杰瑞 choose to lie to the Chinese audience, and the Chinese audience chooses to believe that lie. Having the ability to distinguish the facts and defend your bottom line makes us different from them.

I really appreciate you and thank for your caring about Chinese people. I once was a fan of Jerry and really liked his video. let me share my story about my change. I once am a so called 粉红. Before I left china, I really thought my country was getting better although there are many horrible things about me, like corruption, control of public words. That thought even existed for a while after I just went abroad although I have seen some of your guy's video or stuffs about Hong Kong or 8964. One thing that really changed my thoughts is when I watch an event about house removing by armed police, the crying of an old women shaked my past view, and I see no report in china's "local" Internet. I am really disappointed and upset about that. And I can never trust the government ever. Then, after knowing Jerry is that kind of guy who knows the truth but pretend not to know, I feel disgusted when I see his video now.

You really made me think about some friends if mine,who should stand the same page with me, but Not.
A lot of the vloggers who make these videos aimed at satisfying the Chinese audience are smart enough to know what they're doing. My theory is they just want to stay in China. Their life there is better for them than it is in their home countries and they have made the choice that if a deal with the devil is what it takes to stay in 'Wonderland' then they will do it to the best of their ability.
This kind of drive to stay comfortable when the other possibility is a mediocre normal life in your home country doesn't just apply to the people who became modern-day Edgar Snow. It also applied, for a time, to guys like C-milk and SerpentZA. The only difference was they at least had the balls to try and make serious content, which put them in the crosshairs of local governments.

奧斯卡獎和西方主流媒體早就對CCP下跪很久了。
1990年代，有一個一線好萊塢男星叫李察吉爾，他在奧斯卡頒獎典禮上，利用自己此生難得的奧斯卡鎂光燈時間，去支持中國的少數民族爭取傳統生活的選擇權，並應該有現代社會的基本人權與不被中國政府歧視性政策的權利。
後來發生什麼事？
李察吉爾被奧斯卡和西方影業跟西方媒體「全面封殺」！！！
李察吉爾講的是謊言嗎？李察吉爾有鼓吹那些人革命嗎？李察吉爾鼓吹有要推翻中共政權嗎？沒有！
他只是希望中共和全世界能夠聽到，那些少數民族不願受到壓迫或歧視。
這樣一個「柔軟」的訴求讓他從此被消失。
當牽扯到利益時，不需要CCP出面踹你一腳，你身後的兄弟會直接為了「他與CPP的共同利益」捅你一刀。
