      He did say "It's dangerous for me to be in a sober state," so that's probably what made people think that? Nice to see what he's really like. ^_^

    • @PerpetualCalamity
      @PerpetualCalamity ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Songmorning The remark kinda made sense to me, but he worded it poorly. There are people who are technically not sober on a daily basis under medical guidance. As someone with ADHD and depression, I can barely function without taking vyvanse, an amphetamine like Adderall. These are addictive substances that share similar properties to meth, but help when prescribed in the proper dosage. Nicotine is also a stimulant, triggering dopamine release and has some immediate nullifying effects on anxiety (but can increase anxiety in the long term). Hopefully Jesse will meet with a psychiatrist who can provide a more efficient form of treatment than nicotine patches. I think as a society we have a weak understanding of sobriety, drugs, neurodivergence, mental health, etc. It’s like how the US government condemned ketamine and psychedelic drugs for decades, but now recent studies are showing how they can be an effective and almost permanent treatment for certain depressive and anxiety disorders under medical supervision in a controlled environment.

    it’s cool to see people being totally vulnerable. it gives a different perspective as to why people might not be acting like themselves

    I think he said something that is so so important for us to remember.
    Our brains are not wired to comprehend receiving criticism and sometimes hate on a massive scale.
    That's why I really wish people didn't act so casual about filming strangers, especially in their worst moments. We typically don't see the fallout for these people. (This is not including crimes-I feel unless it's a case of safety, do not act entitled to someone else's image).

    It was so awesome to hear a behind the scenes, it’s so easy to judge someone from a minute clip of their life but In reality you don’t know that person and what they are really going through. To us the button looks like a fun random dating show but I can see where for some people it would be really nerve wracking, I think I would be super nervous too going on that show so I loved hearing Jesse’s real talk on what was happening. I judged him from that clip but I’m glad to see that I was wrong! (Sorry Jesse lol)

    I can’t imagine what it would be like to endure a bunch of people responding to a video of me trying to talk to someone while having a panic attack… it’s super cool that cody’s reaction made this dude feel better and that he got a chance to explain himself. he’s so lucky cody’s the guy doing button videos cuz no doubt some youtubers woulda chewed him up and spat him out without a second thought 😵‍💫

    Cody you're AWESOME for inviting Jesse on to talk about this! I definitely wondered what was up with that episode, but now that I heard his reasoning, it makes sense and I completely understand and relate.
    I've tried to over-manage how I come across, trying to "be" this or that type of person before going into situations and as Jesse said, I always felt awful after.
    Decided to be myself no matter what lately, but the panic attacks from trying to shake off the habit of people pleasing can be INSANE :( and I've ended up getting all kinds of reactions ranging from mild surprise to confusion to complete outrage too, so again...so glad you guys had this talk and shared it with us, puts a lot into perspective.

    When you're hyper intelligent I feel your personality at times can appear disrespectful. This dude is definitely on another wavelength, I'd love to have the chance to talk and chill with him.
    Everyone is different and unique in there own way, super interesting to observe. Being thrown into situations that force you to react instantly can cause the brain to produce subconscious thoughts/feelings generally reserved for only yourself.
    For me at least, I tend to spend time organizing and filtering my thoughts and actions before I react to situations. I'd love to see how I would perform on a show like this.

    Stopping like 30 seconds into the actual interview to say that Jesse is actually kind of awesome. He’s done a ton of Cut videos, but I really liked his episode in the series where people paint each other naked. He and his best friend painted each other, and the stuff they talked about was just really heartfelt and nice
