It does have AP. It will follow HDG, NAV & fly an ILS approach. AP ON/OFF is behind the Pilot's yoke, far left rocker switch. Choose NAV on the dial behind the Mixture Levers.
@@DEFkon001 My eyes won't last a 400 mile trip so always happy to have an AP. I mentioned it because JB, in his excellent initial review, commented that it didn't have an AP, whereas there is a basic functioning AP system spread across 3 instruments.
I expertimented with the autopilot last night - it works very well. I love that given the GPS is retro-fitted, the switches for things are in random places :)
That's a really beautiful aircraft, the actual aircraft and the modelling/texturing. Exactly the kind of aircraft I'd get if I had MSFS - thanks for the demo, much appreciated. NB: Now seriously looking into booting my iMac as a Windows machine.... it's doable! :-)
Thank you for the review. It does indeed look gorgeous, outside and in. I just wish Carenado put half the effort into systems depth that they do into modelling and textures. I've bought a few of their planes in the past and always found them pretty but frustratingly soulless.
Yep - I didn't like to say it in the video, but after a couple of flights, it smells a lot of Aerosoft - i.e. looks the part, but not much wiring behind the scenes.
Can you do a wheel landing, which I believe in real life would be the preferred landing for a Beech 18 (for example does the elevator and rudders lose effectiveness as the tail comes down)?
There is a tail wheel lock on the lower end of the pedestal between the two pilots. I don’t think you had it on locked before your take off roll. PS: You later mention this in the video. Just thought I should come back to note that but leave my comment so you know Kilroy was here. Lol!!
The vehicles at Booker seem to be particularly annoying. I've had that fuel truck park itself in my cabin more than once. Be nice if they could address their pathing.

True, but c'mon... this plane wants to be flown by hand.

Beautiful panel.

The only issue is the graphics card - MSFS needs a monster graphics card :/
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Interesting Jon ! Thx for sharing :)
My pleasure!
Having flown the aircraft IRL, I disagree on engine sounds, woefully inadequate; but looks like fun to bring back old memories.
Yeah - it's far too quiet. Let's hope they update it.

If you follow real world procedures (speed, descent rate, etc) I'm sure it will fall gently without bouncing - it just requires practice.

Yep - I knew it was there - this first flight I was more interested in seeing how difficult it might be to control on rudder.

please!!!! an autopilot tutorial, can't get it to work for GPS/NAV
Uploading it right now :)
@@jonbeckett thank you very much Jonathan, can't wait!!!
it does have auto pilot. it is a good one.
Yes - I realised immediately after - I recorded a video showing it's operation.
This or the mig29?
Both, of course :)
