What the Measurement you used for developers
just wanted to say that I dyed my hair and I LOVE IT. I have natural highlights all around my hair that make it look so pretty and dimensional especially in the sunlight. Just wanted to say thank you for the video🌟🤍

Never put 40 on your root. To cover grey using perm usually 20 is enough because the heat accelerates. You do not need 40 on the base (after your root) because you are using a darker color. When coloring darker you use a 10 to deposit only. 20, 30, 40, is to go 2 levels, 3 levels, up to 4 levels lighter. The less number the less damage. Don't raise the number if you don't have to. You will end up with no hair, burned hair, crispy hair, crunchy hair, split end hair, hair that looks like straw.

Colour looks gorgeous! Remember girls, if you have fair hair like me, a 5R will come out very dark and red. Myself I have to avoid any red or warm tones. and stick to neutral or ash shades and I still end up with a warm tone cause my hair turns orange so easily. Fair hair is more porous and dyes/bleaches easier. Also 30 volume developer is for dark or thick hair, 10 or 20 vol is best for fair or thin hair. When I use a neutral medium brown on my blonde hair, I end up with chocolate. Just FYI for all you fair girls out there. Pick a shade a level or two lighter than you want to get the desired level, you can always go one darker.
Light hair isn’t necessarily more porous. Unless it is artificially lighten hair.

Im planning on dying my own hair because I have the skill of dying hair but not cutting so im going to go get it cut then im going to dye my hair. This is a perfect perfect chocolate color and i trust Sallys quality. I was born with extremely thick hair and it would be nice to have naturally thick thick hair but its extremely heavy and you cant wear many styles because the hair is to heavy to do much but its pretty but very very high maintenance.

Your hair was porous since it was stripped and the color had nothing to grab onto. Next time you wanna go blonde to brown/red use a red protein filler. :)

This year I wanted to dye my hair getting thinned out since my hair is really thick and then maybe get some bangs, but then the whole covid-19 happened and now my hair is looking like poodle hair. I will not be going until maybe next. I bought myself that Revlon blow drying brush to do my hair, but have not had the time to do it. I've been feeling really blah! So one of these days I'm going to put on some makeup, do my hair, nails, and dress up nice. Even if I don't go out anywhere. 😂

Thank you so much queen 👑 I use benefit cosmetics 3.75 or 3.5 for an nice bright reddish brown. I also like to use a tinted brow gel in the same shade on top cus it really makes your brows pop! I also like the NYX in “chocolate” cus it has a reddish tint to it. Can’t wait to see your hair color send pics on my ig boo xoxo 💕

Not sure if you will read my comment. I have dark hair with red tones (from previous henna done 2 years ago) I want to cancel out the red tones and get a chocolate brown. How do I achieve that? I tried Ash Brown to cancel out the red ( because it has green base) any recommendations?

I did the exact color and developer volume with level 3 virgin hair. It came out super red brown. I dont think i like it but yea, Also i have the same skintone as Leslie's Blushing seen here

That’s The Perfect Shade Of Brown!! 😍😍 I Have Super Blonde Hair Right Now & I Want To Go Back To Brown, What Would You Recommend To Use On My Hair To Prevent From It Turning Green??
Thank you so much! Leaving the blonde is a struggle! The first thing I would recommend is to use a 20 developer or even a 10 if they have it. Also they sell this hair protein at Sally’s it’s like small drops to enhance the color an make sure it covers the blonde. They have it in brown an red. Id maybe mix them both an add them to your hair color mix

10vol is for deposit of color. 20vol and up is for lift and then deposit. If you are blonde do not use 20vol on your hair. You will first want to fill your hair 1 level lighter than the desired shade. You will want tones of red in the filler shade to add the natural pigments back into your hair. Process then rinse with shampoo and then add a neutral shade at the desired level over the top. You CAN NOT just add whatever shade of brown to blonde hair. It will come out muddy, and uneven.

I am not a hairdresser but I would use a higher developer like a 30 or 40 to make the pigment show up on your dark hair. I hope that helps!

How dark is the hair color ? I would go with a 30 developer to first see how it turns out. If it’s still too bright do the 20 developer.

Just got the color today. I have a medium red magenta( fade) and faded super faded magenta on the middle ends of my hair. Just hope my hair comes out like leslie that chocolate brown!
I hope it does girly I would like a 30 developer if it’s a dark faded red if it’s on the lighter side I would the developer in the box with the color. So it’s not too bright 🙌🏻😄 hope it looks good !

Aww thank you so much beautiful you’re so sweet!! How long has it been since you dyed your hair black? 🤔 I know at Sally’s they sell this thing called “color oops” an it’s supposed to strip out hair dye from your hair. I would try using it to see if it lightens up your hair a bit an I would use a 30 developer on the lower parts of your hair an a 20 developer on the roots 🥰🙌🏻

It does cover grays girlie but make sure you use a gray color depositer they have them at Sally’s ! So awesome
Omg!!! This is the color that I want!!! But.. You used 5r an 4r...here in Italy we use numbers for color dye (example: 6/1....or 6/47,ecc...). Exactly, what color is 6r (not red... I think... Your hair are wonderful, very brown and warm color... but not red).

He hot roots will calm down within 2/3 days especially after washing your hair it will help. An it could be that your hair is just still a bit too dark which is okay maybe next month when it’s time for a retouch it will brighten up more! I think my hair took about 2 times

Well it may damage a bit, like cause dryness bcus of the developer. But since we aren’t using bleach it won’t damage your Hair too much

@@hahqkqb4491 really nothing since your hair is naturally dark brown it won’t lift any since a 20 developer (what’s in the box) is used just to deposit color. If you want it to be a noticeable brown I would go with 30 developer for 35min. An if you’re afraid of it being too bright use a deeper chocolate brown.
What do you use for a toner? Do you use any shampoo and conditioner that’s for brown hair?
I don’t use a toner but I have used the brown shampoo from John Frieda to just intensify the brown shades and I really loved it. I dyed my hair frequently so I feel like the color lasted a lot 💕✨

Yes but then you should leave it on longer because it’ll work slower
it does but it won't lift as bright you'd have to leave it on a bit longer definitely use the blow dryer to help it process

I have been wanting to dye my hair this color for awhile now but I have this fear of my hair turning brassy. Once the color fades it won’t turn brassy right? love this hair color on you it looks so cute 🤍
You should try it ! Mine doesn’t get brassy or orangey it actually just looks like a bit lighter in tone like you can tell when it’s time to refresh the hair color which for me is when my roots are pretty grown out. I do my hair every 3 months. I just filmed a new video that I’m currently editing I found a BRIGHTER color like this thats soo pretty. It’s from garnier nutrieses an the color is called Caramel chocolate highly recommend that color if you’re wanting something brighter ! If you want a deep chocolate color then definitely do this shade here from ION
