very true to an extent. Other than, it's a nice-looking doorstop if the batteries go flat. In the digital age where everything's electric, you might be surprised that issue was a 'thing', but it was indeed one of the reasons why some people chose an entirely mechanical camera instead, such the OM-1.
Your video is a lifesaver. We were (finally) going through my late family's belongings and to say he has a love for photography is a lie. This treasure felt like a hidden gift and though it took awhile, I'm glad I stumbled on your page. I am looking forward to the creations on this spunky device and going back in time from my DSLR.
Nice to see the OM-10 on TH-cam, thank you. Not sure if the OM-10 does of the film light metering for flash but it does it for regular photography. My OM-10 was the perfect camera for shooting fireworks. Many current Olympus cameras still can do the same with live composite.
I bought my Olympus 10 for $ 49 .. in Mint condition with the manual adapter , flash it came with OM - SYSTEM ZUIKO 1.8 Lens ... it's lite and pretty small camera , I would have liked the all black model , I have a PENTAX MX , it's as small as but OM 10 is lighter then MX
Tbf @threeminutepro does actually cover this in the video. Olympus thought this was a genius way of preventing amateurs from not getting the shot if they forgot to turn the camera on. Unfortunately what it meant was, if someone threw the camera in a bag that lightly pressed the shutter-release (which amateurs often did), the meter would stay on and flatten the batteries. Olympus wearily conceded that every time you try to make something idiot-proof, society comes along with better idiots, and consequently the OM20 that followed it had a proper off switch.
Thank you for this amazing video! I've just received this exact camera as a gift, unfortunataly the wind on lever can't be totally "cranked" and is stuck midway. It shows an "s" instead of the "1" in the video, does it mean it stuck and can't be use? Thank you if you have an idea on what could it be and if you have any tricks to get it back to take pictures!
Ce l'ho anch'io insieme alla OM 1, però vi prego basta scrivere ISO, nelle analogiche le pellicole si definiscono in ASA...commettete tutti gli stessi errori! Bella macchina fotografica Olympus! I have it too together with the OM 1, but please just write ISO, in analog films are defined in ASA... You all make the same mistakes! Good camera film Olympus!
this camera has literally everything you need and nothing you don't! love the smarts of it as well as the simplicity
Agree, it’s punching well above its weight

You’re welcome 😀
Very informative video!! I love my OM10, but still getting blurry photos for some reason even when I'm pretty sure I'm choosing the correct aperture.
Sorry to hear that. It can happen when set to auto if the light suddenly drops. Do you have the manual adaptor?

It’s a great price for such a full featured camera
I've noticed that even when set to off, my camera still changes the shutter speed according to light. I haven't found any mention of this.
Olympus thought of everything when they made this, didn’t they? 😀
